Masked Israeli settlers brutally attacked an NBC News crew and a Palestinian woman with batons and rocks in the occupied West Bank.
The crew was interviewing Aida Ahmed Abdullah, who had been displaced from her home by settlers, when masked men arrived and attacked the group.
Abdullah was knocked to the ground and hospitalised; NBC correspondent Matt Bradley and other crew members were also injured.
The attack is part of a wider surge in settler violence in recent weeks and months.
Israeli security figures recorded 660 settler attacks in the first half of 2026, a 63% increase from the same period last year.
UN figures report that 76 Palestinians had been killed in the West Bank by Israeli forces or settlers by 24 July this year.
Rights groups and journalists say settler violence continues to operate with widespread impunity, fuelling displacement, land seizures, further attacks and in some cases the killing of Palestinians.

The Advisory Committee for Personal Security, which operates under the Prime Minister’s Office, has decided to recommend that the Shin Bet security agency provide security for Yashar party chief Gadi Eisenkot, a leading contender to serve as Israel’s next prime minister, until the October 27 election.
The committee makes its recommendation after the Shin Bet declined to provide Eisenkot with armed guards, saying it did not possess intelligence justifying such a move. Eisenkot’s campaign has said he is facing growing threats as the election approaches.
Channel 12 reported last week that the Shin Bet would allow Eisenkot’s private guards to carry weapons, in a compromise, but would not fund the move.

Why the pieces never settle
A reef is a skeleton wearing a thin living skin.
Under the tissue is limestone laid down across centuries and cemented solid, which is what lets the structure stand against open ocean swell.

That detail is the whole story. Energy security has been doing enormous unpaid labour in British politics — a phrase that means domestic supply when it is convenient and international markets when it is profitable. Rosebank oil goes onto a world market at a world price. The bills stay where they are. The emissions stay here.
The signatories put it as a choice: Burnham can stand with the fossil fuel industry or with the people. Politicians hate being handed that framing, mostly because they have already chosen and would prefer a third option labelled balanced approach.
Whether a letter from musicians shifts an oilfield decision is doubtful. But it does force a legacy question early, and legacy is one of the very few currencies a prime minister actually spends.

Rabid Jewish supremacist Ben-Gvir is at it again. The Israeli minister in charge of the rape and torture dungeons in occupied Palestine posted a video of himself on Sunday, berating female Palestinian detainees inside a detention cell and proudly boasting that his policies have ensured their harsh conditions in Israeli captivity. “I will continue to lead a policy of the minimum of the minimum!” he wrote in a Twitter post.
Ben-Gvir has a knack for storming the cells of Palestinian detainees and filming their repression while hiding behind an entourage of armed men. He listens to the grievances of the detainees, then proceeds to mock them, promising even harsher restrictions. The latest video follows the same template.
“[There are] raids night and day… and our situation is very bad,” a female detainee tells Ben-Gvir. “A severe infringement of our rights… us women as well.”
When asked about the nature of the problems the detainees are facing, she replies: “Everything… personal needs… we have been without a shower for this whole time, and there is no water inside the cells. There are many diseases and no treatment.”
Ben-Gvir then tells the detainees that their extreme repression is his handiwork: “Okay, I’ll tell you one thing: the days of summer camps in Israeli prisons are over! I am responsible for this. And anyone who harmed my brothers will not get hotel conditions! You held our hostages… we lowered your conditions to the bare minimum.”
