“Senior Israeli occupation army officers have warned Israel’s political leadership that the escalating settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank is approaching a breaking point, and that a mass-casualty settler atrocity could soon drive Palestinians across the territory into armed resistance,” Quds News Network reported on Monday.

1. General Douglas MacArthur (Korean War)

Tina Cordova, founder of the Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium, addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Monday in hopes of convincing global leaders to stop nuclear weapons tests like the one that sickened generations of her family in New Mexico.
The United Nations commemorated the International Day against Nuclear Tests, which is Aug. 31, with a series of speeches decrying the human and environmental impacts of nuclear weapons testing.
At the UN headquarters in New York City on the invitation of UN General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock. Baerbock said in a news release that she invited Cordova to “raise awareness about the effects of nuclear weapons tests explosions or any other nuclear explosions and the need for their cessation as one of the means of achieving the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world.”
Cordova, in her speech, recounted the 1945 Trinity Test that she said marked “the beginning of the end for tens of thousands of people that we’ve documented, including babies that died in record numbers in the year after Trinity.”
Cordova, who founded the consortium more than 20 years ago to advocate for compensation for New Mexico’s downwinders, did not immediately respond to Source NM’s request for comment Monday morning. But, in a news release Aug. 27, she called the speech before global leaders “an honor of a lifetime.”
In her speech, she referenced the 2025 congressional expansion of the Radiation and Exposure Compensation Act, which included downwinders and some New Mexico uranium miners, as the first-ever acknowledgement of New Mexicans’ “sacrifice and their suffering.” Members of Congress are currently working on legislation that would further expand RECA to cover additional groups and radiation-linked cancers.
But Cordova said compensation for past harms is not enough, and urged the leaders to remember the Trinity Test 81 years ago as reason to fully abolish nuclear weapons.
“It’s time we set our families, our children and our grandchildren free from nuclear threat,” she said. “We must commit ourselves to a world without nuclear testing, a world without nuclear weapons.”

This article is a digest of work on ‘high control groups’ and Joost Meerloo’s book published post second world war on Menticide and the psychology of thought control. In order to position myself as to the research, my own interests have been developing through a study of what I call “sublegal violence” after studying the psychology and sociology of dehumanisation.

Michigan’s Democratic US Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, recently went on an apology tour for accurate and reasonable comments he made that were intentionally taken out of context by the Israel lobby.
In response to a story about a man running his car into the Temple Israel synagogue in a Detroit suburb and shooting a security guard, Abdul El-Sayed said, “hurt people hurt people”.
What Abdul El-Sayed was referring to is the fact that the man behind the attack, Ayman Mohammad Ghazali, had four relatives killed by the IDF during the Israeli ethnic cleansing campaign in Lebanon.
Clearly, Abdul El-Sayed was not justifying the attack, but making the correct point that terrorist attacks on civilians are often “blowback” for the terrorism the U.S., UK and Israeli governments carry out around the world.

The “civil war” currently playing out in the Democratic Party is usually thought of as a battle between socialists and progressives on the one hand, and centrists on the other. Which it is. But it’s also a battle between the Democratic establishment and its own voters.
If you need proof, look at party leadership’s plans to install Jared Moskowitz and several other right-wing Democrats in influential foreign policy positions if the party retakes the House of Representatives.
“I’ll be in a position to help steer US policy on Israel and the Middle East,” said Moskowitz, who will become chair of the Middle East and North Africa subcommittee if the party wins big in November.
The views of the Democratic electorate on Israel are not ambiguous. A recent poll carried out by YouGov, for example, found that majorities of upward of 60 percent of Democratic voters across several key states overwhelmingly want their 2028 presidential candidate to cut off weapons for Israel and even sanction Israel over its illegal behavior.
Moskowitz’s appointment is, to put it lightly, a slap in the face of this supermajority of his party’s own voters. Moskowitz is a darling of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) for his
- implacable support for Israel’s genocide,
- opposing a ceasefire for months while Israeli forces carried out some of the worst killing and
- vehemently opposing any conditions whatsoever on US aid to Israel—even though, under US law, it’s already illegal to send aid to states violating human rights.
