Fucking pathetic: The Oglala Sioux Tribe is still trying to locate four members kidnapped by ICE agents in Minneapolis last week, and many Native people in the Twin Cities have felt scared to leave the house to go to work or get groceries.
Part of THAT plan: The current U.S. strategy reflects a calculated lesson: when coups and direct interventions fail, long-term destabilization becomes the primary instrument of influence.
By controlling narratives, circulating contested claims, and subtly encouraging unrest, Washington aims to shape Iran’s trajectory indirectly.
Yet history reminds us that persistence does not guarantee success. Iran’s resilience, coupled with its ability to adapt and absorb pressure, ensures that this strategy is a slow, uncertain gamble rather than a guaranteed path to regime change.
Once a Penal Colony Mindset, Always a Prison: On January 12, Australia’s Attorney-General Michelle Rowland stepped to the podium and announced what she called “the toughest hate laws Australia has ever seen.”
The government plans to push its Combatting Antisemitism, Hate and Extremism Bill 2026 through Parliament on January 20, turning Australia’s speech laws into something that reads more like a psychological test than a criminal code.

Is this enough to bring you to your knees?
Because Gestapo in USA seems to be on target: ICE is going door-to-door now.
What should you do if they knock on your door?
In St. Paul, and surrounding cities, ICE agents have started going door-to-door looking for people to arrest. In some cases forcing entry, in others posing as delivery people. They are legally allowed to lie. Our state is being turned upside down by masked, armed agents of terror. Our neighbors deserve better. Our state deserves better.
No one should be afraid to go to the grocery store.
No one should be afraid to take their kids to school.
No one should be afraid in their own home.
If ICE comes to your door, you have rights. Videos available in multiple languages here can help you know what to do if ICE arrives. Video guides available in multiple languages here:
This is what gets most Americans’ rocks off: This impunity combines the worst traits of its 20th-century progenitors: racism, imperialism, colonialism, fascism, Zionism, aggression, and genocide with the terrible 21st-century technologies of surveillance, silencing, and murder.
Instead, it has been followed by equivocal whimpers by several Western leaders, a hyper-cautious response from the UN Secretary-General, rhetorical condemnation by members of the Security Council, but no action whatsoever, and enthusiastic cheerleading by U.S. and Western corporate media.

Why not dress up as doctors and Meals on Wheels volunteers? ICE agents are dressing up as utility workers in Oregon to spy on and gain access to people’s houses. In response, NW Natural Gas issued a public notice about how to identify its employees and contractors in the field.

The Israeli spying and assassination agency known as Mossad issued a message from its official Farsi language account on Twitter/X urging Iranians to escalate their regime change activities, pledging that it would be supporting them on the ground.
“Go out together into the streets. The time has come,” Mossad instructed Iranians. “We are with you. Not only from a distance and verbally. We are with you in the field.”
There is an acceptable face of protest in Iran, in Venezuela and the myriad other countries marked for western regime change, and there is an unacceptable face.
You, as a consumer of western media, will always see the acceptable face.
You should know what I’m talking about, because we’ve been fed a continual stream of this acceptable face from Iran over the last few days. The people protesting in opposition to the Iranian government, the people chanting anti-government slogans, the people burning pictures of Iranian leaders.
Conversely, you, as a consumer of western media, will never see the unacceptable face.
You will never see the pro-government protests, the people chanting in support of their governments and against imperialism, the people burning pictures of the exiled national elites who claim to be the rightful leaders of the country.
You will never see images of the young women burning pictures of Reza Pahlavi, the exiled prince and son of the corrupt Shah who was overthrown by the revolution but claims himself to be the saviour of the country.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is now only counting costs to businesses when considering regulation on key pollutants, internal documents show, rather than considering human lives saved by such caps.
For the first time in decades of the practice, The New York Times reports, the EPA will effectively set the cost of a human life at $0 when doing cost-benefit analysis for fine particulate matter (PM2.5) or ozone pollution — two air pollutants that can causelifelong respiratory issues and are estimated to cause tens of thousands of premature deaths every year in the U.S.

United States | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Anger and condemnation erupted on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards as Hollywood figures openly denounced President Donald Trump and US immigration authorities following the fatal shootings of American civilians by ICE agents.
Actors and comedians, including Mark Ruffalo and Wanda Sykes, used the global spotlight to protest what they described as a rogue federal government operating with impunity, lawlessness, and brutality against its own population.
Red Carpet Protest Against ICE Killings
At the Golden Globe Awards on January 11 in Los Angeles, several celebrities arrived wearing black-and-white pins reading “BE GOOD” and “ICE OUT.” The protest was a direct response to the killing of Renee Nicole Good, who was shot dead by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis on January 7.
Another victim, Keith Porter, was a Los Angeles resident who was fatally shot by an off-duty ICE agent on New Year’s Eve.
The killings triggered nationwide outrage and intensified scrutiny of ICE’s increasingly aggressive enforcement tactics.
Mark Ruffalo: “Trump Is the Worst Human Being”
Speaking to USA TODAY on the red carpet, Mark Ruffalo explicitly condemned President Trump and the broader US political system that shields federal agents from accountability.
“This is for Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered,” Ruffalo said, before launching a blistering attack on Trump.
“We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded. He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality — but the guy is a convicted felon; a convicted rapist.”
Ruffalo went further, describing Trump as morally unfit to lead:
“He’s a pedophile. He’s the worst human being. If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.”
He concluded by describing widespread fear inside the United States itself:
“This is for the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today. I know I’m one of them. What’s happening here is not America.”
Wanda Sykes: “Shut This Rogue Government Down”
Comedian Wanda Sykes echoed the sentiment in an interview with Variety, calling for direct resistance against the federal government.
“We need to speak up and shut this rogue government down,” Sykes said. “It’s awful what they are doing to people.”
In a recent interview with TheNew York Times, when asked if he felt there were any limits on his global power, he said,
“Yeah, there is one thing. My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me.”
The words of the English playwright Harold Pinter in his 2005 Nobel Award speech about America’s violent imperialism still ring true, but with a twist:
It never happened. Nothing ever happened. Even while it was happening it wasn’t happening. It didn’t matter. It was of no interest. The crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have actually talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exercised a quite clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good. It’s a brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis.
If we are lucky enough to survive this psychopath now that the masks have come off, he will paradoxically have served his temporary function of swinging the gate open for our traditional rulers to return again. They will crack down on our freedoms as they have done since 2001 and do their killing more mannerly.
Nicely, the way most people prefer it.
According to the rules-based order. As in Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Palestine, Yemen, Afghanistan, Serbia, etc.

Apparently, the illegal US action against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro is “inspiring” the war plans of British authorities – not against Latin American countries or developing states, but against the Russian Federation. Recently, UK Defense Secretary John Healey stated that he would like to kidnap Russian President Vladimir Putin if given the opportunity. This shows how irrational and dangerous the plans of Western elites against Moscow are.

News Round-up: Fascism with no smile:
Trump seeks to quell data center rebellion:
Hazleton, Pennsylvania, was once the Power City: the third US city electrified by Thomas Edison, home to the world’s first coal-fired electricity plant, and the source of an electric third rail that inspired the Long Island Rail Road. In the 1880s, Edison targeted Hazleton — a plateau of poor immigrant miners — thanks to George Markle, the nation’s most powerful coal operator. His son, John, famously declared he’d “rather fight than eat” when bargaining with the miners who later staged the 1902 strike, the first in US history to require federal intervention. The miners won; Markle dimmed the lights and retreated to an opulent Manhattan life.
Last month, the descendants of those rebels won another battle in Hazleton. They were rebelling against a proposed data centre campus that would destroy the forests on a local mountain known for its globally rare flora. Local elected officials denied approval of the centre, known as Project Hazelnut, amid residents’ intense opposition. This revolt against data centres indicates a wider trend across Pennsylvania, from the central region’s farm communities to Harrisburg’s suburbs, with a new RealClearPennsylvania/Emerson poll finding that 42% of Pennsylvanians oppose data-centre development in or near their community, while just 34% support it.
Their objections are the same as those elsewhere in the country: rising electricity bills, environmental costs, economic scepticism, and a depleted quality of life. In Northern Virginia, for example, the formerly agricultural landscape has been transformed by the cloud-computing megastructures since the 2000s. Consequently, local opposition to new data centres fuelled Democrat John McAuliff’s unexpected state legislative victory in last month’s election.
‘Code red’ declared by local healthcare workers over federal funding cuts
Dozens of healthcare workers from Rochester are making their way to Albany to rally against federal cuts to healthcare services. They’re joining thousands from across New York calling for state action.
The workers, representing a variety of specialties including registered nurses and CNAs, are concerned about the potential impact of the Trump administration’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. They fear facilities and services may shut down without necessary funding.
The rally marks the start of a campaign by 1199SEIU to propose solutions to protect patients and healthcare facilities in New York, calling it a “code red”. “Letting folks know that we are in a very, tough time right now, that if something isn’t done, that we’re going to see devastation across health care” 1199 Vice President Tracey Harrison said.
“We are anticipating that there’s going to be over 17 million individuals where health care will be taken away from them. That’s 1.5 here in New York State,” Harrison said. “When we look at it from a dollar amount, we’re looking at over $13.5 billion. That’s going to be robbed from New York State and its hospital.”

The Pentagon is said to have used a plane that looked like a civilian aircraft in a boat strike. The nonmilitary appearance is significant, according to legal specialists, because the Trump administration has argued its lethal boat attacks are lawful — not murders — because President Trump “determined” the U.S. is in an armed conflict with drug cartels.
But the laws of armed conflict prohibit combatants from feigning civilian status to fool adversaries into dropping their guard, then attacking and killing them. That is a war crime called “perfidy.”
SOOOO. ALL US AIRCRAFT and SHIPS of a civilian appearance ARE ENEMY COMBATANTS?
Red-state Republicans seek climate ‘liability shield’ for fossil fuel industry
If enacted, Utah and Oklahoma measures would restrict litigation against oil companies over role in climate crisis
Big oil is not the only industry seeking limits on legal accountability. Pharmaceutical giants have pushed state and federal lawmakers to block some pesticide-focused lawsuits, successfully lobbying for such measures in Georgia and North Dakota. More recently, lawmakers attempted – but failed – to weaken pesticide regulations via a national bill. Tech companies have also raised concerns about lawsuits over harms linked to artificial intelligence, prompting federal and state proposals – including in Colorado and Texas – that would shield companies from certain civil claims.
Attempts from the oil industry to skirt liability are “expressions of fear”, said Inslee.
“They are right to be afraid,” he said. “When a jury finds out what these CEOs in their corner offices have been doing to Americans … they’re going to be boiling mad.”
Advancements in attribution science, which links specific extreme weather events to the climate crisis, have made climate accountability litigation even stronger, said Parenteau.
“It’s really only a matter of time before a jury hands down a multi billion dollar verdict,” he said. “I’m positive.”

In July 2023, PenLink merged with Israeli surveillance contractor Cobwebs Technologies, when the latter was acquired for $200 million by private equity firm Spire Capital, which also owns PenLink.
ICE buys a surveillance system with the capacity to monitor entire neighborhoods: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) purchased access to a powerful neighborhood-wide surveillance system that sweeps up cellphone location data and tracks people over time, according to documents obtained by 404 Media. Built by Penlink, the tools—Webloc and Tangles—enable warrantless geofencing and social-media monitoring. The purchase has drawn criticism from civil-liberties groups, who say that the technology will facilitate dragnet surveillance that will intensify the agency’s increasingly lawless deportation crackdowns.
Our continuing criminal enterprise: A 2020 indictment issued by a U.S. grand jury also referenced the Cártel de Los Soles, alleging that Maduro “helped manage and ultimately lead the Cartel…as he rose to power in Venezuela.”[1]
Amazingly, the CIA is known to have facilitated drug trafficking through the very same Cártel de los Soles in 1990.
In 1993, CBS’s 60 Minutes aired a segment entitled “The CIA’s Cocaine,” which featured interviews with former Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) administrator Robert Bonner and DEA Special Agent (and DEA Station Chief in Caracas) Anabelle Grimm, who told host Mike Wallace about an undercover drug operation in Venezuela involving the Cártel de los Soles in which the CIA assisted the cartel in shipping 200 kilograms of cocaine into the U.S.
The purpose of the operation—called Operation North—was for CIA “assets” in the Venezuelan National Guard who were part of the Cártel de los Soles to gain credibility with Colombian drug cartels who could be busted in future sting operations.
Grimm told Wallace that the CIA believed they could get to Pablo Escobar (infamous Medellín drug cartel kingpin) through this operation, which she found to be “ludicrous.”
The chief figure involved in the operation, Ramón Guillén Dávila, head of the anti-drug national command from 1987 to 1991, was considered the CIA’s top “asset” in the Venezuelan military and “its most trusted man,” as was reported in the Miami Herald.[2]

Christ, Iran? Where the fuck is BRICS, man? Seems Jew Landia and Trump Landia are winning hearts, minds, sanctions, bombings, regime changes, kinetic hell scapes.
Richard Nephew, who coordinated the sanctions on Iran under the Biden administration, in his sadistic book, “The Art of Sanctions” boasted that because of the sanctions, “Iran’s economy went from GDP growth of 3 percent to a 6.6 percent contraction between 2011 and 2012 . Iranian unemployment and inflation remained in the double digits. In 2012, Iran’s currency depreciated threefold in a matter of weeks, resulting in the hemorrhaging of Iranian hard-currency reserves.”
[The Art of Sanctions offers a practical framework for planning and applying sanctions based on two critical factors: pain and resolve. Focusing on lessons learned from sanctions on Iran and Iraq, Richard Nephew provides policymakers with practical guidance on how to measure and respond to pain and resolve to achieve successful sanctions regimes.]
Nephew boasted in the book that the intention was to destroy Iran’s economy, while running propaganda operations designed to trigger unrest against the government due to the economic situation, writing:
The United States took its surgical sanctions approach a step further in June 2013 with a carefully structured set of sanctions on Iran’s automotive sector, denying Iran the ability to import manufacturing assistance but not spare parts for existing autos or whole cars themselves. Iranian manufacturing jobs and export revenue were the targets of this sanction, undermining the Iranian government’s attempt to find non-oil export sectors and ways of employing 500,000 Iranians.
All the while, the United States expanded the ability of U.S. and foreign companies to sell Iranians technology used for personal communications, helping ensure that the Iranian public had the ability to learn more about the dire straits of their country’s economy and to communicate.

Death toll in Iran’s protests may be as high as 544: The death toll from Iran’s nationwide protest crackdown has risen to at least 544 people, including 496 protestors and 48 security force members, with more than 10,600 detained, according to the U.S.-based group Human Rights Activists in Iran, which warned the figures are likely to rise. The Associated Press said it cannot independently verify the toll with the internet shut down and phone lines cut off. Iranian state media reports at least 109 security officials have been killed but has released no comprehensive casualty figures.
Unrest “under total control,” says Iranian foreign minister: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insisted on Monday that the situation has “come under total control,” though the claim could not be verified with an internet and telecommunications blackout still in place. Araghchi made the comments to foreign diplomats in Tehran. He also claimed that western powers had turned peaceful protests “violent and bloody to give an excuse” for military intervention. President Donald Trump had previously suggested that the U.S. might intervene militarily if protestors in the country were killed. Iranian state TV broadcast footage on Monday of tens of thousands of pro-government demonstrators after the country’s president called for a “national resistance march.” Araghchi said earlier today that internet services will be restored in coordination with security authorities.
Iran’s army pledges to defend the country’s “national interests” amid protests: Iran’s army vowed on Saturday to defend the country’s “national interests,” with Iranian officials saying the protests are formally legal, while asserting that security forces are targeting arsonists and saboteurs rather than demonstrators. Authorities accused Israel and “hostile groups” of fueling the unrest, as security forces intensified the crackdown. Iran’s army warned in a statement that anyone suspected of arson could face capital charges as an “[enemy] of God.”
President calls concerns of the protestors “legitimate,” but denounces “rioters and terrorists”: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian acknowledged the ongoing protests and said demonstrators have legitimate concerns in a statement on Sunday, while alleging that “rioters” and “terrorists” have killed security forces, emergency workers, and protestors. Iranian state media aired footage it claims shows attacks on police and acts of arson, including a deadly incident at a medical center. State television highlighted funerals held Monday—including that of a three-year-old girl in Kermanshah—while officials called for mass pro-government rallies Tuesday to condemn what they labeled “terrorism.”
A “very bloody” state clampdown in Iran: Iranian expert and Quincy Institute Vice President Trita Parsi said evidence of a “very bloody” state clampdown in Iran is emerging from people who have connected to the internet via Starlink or left the country with videos, noting that even Iranian state television is now reporting from morgues showing large numbers of body bags. “Perhaps most importantly,” Parsi said, the state TV reporter acknowledged that, while some of the dead may have been violent or armed, “the majority of them are ordinary people, and their families are ordinary people as well.”
Trump says Iran’s leaders have reached out to discuss a nuclear deal: President Donald Trump said aboard Air Force One that Iran’s leaders have reached out to the U.S.to discuss arranging a meeting for a new “nuclear deal,” while warning Washington could act first amid Iran’s violent protest crackdown. The comments followed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s return to Tehran on January 9 for talks with Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi. Oman hosted indirect U.S.-Iran nuclear talks that preceded the so-called “12-Day War.”
Netanyahu is “closely monitoring” the situation: Netanyahu said Israel “strongly condemns the mass slaughter of innocent civilians” in Iran. He said he is “closely monitoring developments in Iran,” and added that he hopes that the “Persian nation will soon be freed.”

“There’s two wings in our party right now, and I hope to dominate one of them,” Emanuel, the fiery former Chicago mayor, told Axios in Mississippi last week as he tested his potential 2028 run for president with a focus on education.
“There’s a resistance wing dominated by Gavin [Newsom]. And there’s a renewal wing that will be as forceful in fighting for America as the other wing is in fighting Trump.”
Why it matters: Emanuel — who was chief of staff under President Obama and a senior adviser to President Clinton — is betting that come 2028, the country and Democratic primary voterswill be less focused on President Trump than the party’s base is now.

The principles of international law apply to everyone, including the United States, German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil said on Sunday, in reference to President Donald Trump’s threats to seize Greenland.

“Territorial sovereignty and integrity must be respected,” Klingbeil said ahead of his departure to Washington for a meeting of finance ministers from the Group of Seven advanced economies.

Secretary of Energy Chris Wright said Sunday that it’s “quite likely” American companies will have an expanded presence in Venezuela’s oil industry as the country moves on following the removal of former President Nicolás Maduro.
But Wright said the U.S. has not taken over running Venezuela’s state-owned PDVSA oil and gas company. President Trump on Friday met with oil executives at the White House, and his administration is pressing U.S. oil companies to reenter Venezuela.
“No, today we are running the sale of their crudes. You know, we have a quarantine around their ability to ship oil outside of Venezuela. All of that goes through American crude marketers. And then that crude goes out into the market,” Wright said. “We collect those funds and bring them back to Venezuela to better the lives of Americans and Venezuelans.”

As our team signs off the air, anchor John Yang looks back at some of our top stories and highlights over the years.
Here we are: At least $3 trillion is set to flow into data-center-related investments over the next five years, capital that will rely on the might of multiple areas of the credit markets to provide, according to Moody’s Ratings.
Trillions of dollars will need to be invested across servers, computing equipment, data center facilities and new power capacity, and support the boom in artificial intelligence and cloud computing, the ratings firm said in a report on Monday.
Much of that capital will come directly from big tech companies, which are facing rising demand for data centers and the power needed to operate them. Six US hyperscalers — Microsoft Corp., Amazon.com Inc., Alphabet Inc., Oracle Corp., Meta Platforms Inc. and CoreWeave Inc. — are on track to hit $500 billion in data center investments this year, as capacity growth continues, said Moody’s.

Ribal Zebian, a student from the city of London in Ontario, Canada, already made headlines last year when he built an electric car out of wood and earned a $120,000 scholarship from it. Now, he’s in the news again for something a little different. Concerned with homelessness in his hometown, Zebian got to work creating a different kind of affordable housing made from fiberglass material. In fact, he’s so confident in his idea that the 18-year-old plans on living in it for a year to test it out himself.
Beginning in May, Zebian, who attends Western University, will attempt to live in the modular home for 12 months.
Like this, he told CTV, he can see every defect and flaw, and experience the shelter in every kind of climate to understand exactly how it can be perfected. He thoroughly believes it can be mass produced and utilized to help alleviate homelessness.
“Are tiny homes the entire answer? No, but it’s a part of the solution,” said London affordable housing advocate Gary Brown, again to CTV. “I’ve seen quite a few going up in other cities, and it’s something London itself is kind of lagging behind a little bit.”

If you’ve listened to the podcast, you already have some context. I’ve personally 3D-modelled an example of a home that, realistically, 95% of people couldn’t afford today—no offence intended. This would be fetched in the millions. My company is developing a manufacturing system capable of producing this home within a single day of shipment, at a projected cost which is affordable once mass production scales. Land will be a monthly lease to make this price tag more realistic. Demand will be very high once this goal is reached.
I love the concept. I’m not sure about the longevity and safety of fiberglass. We live in Florida and the sun quickly degrades ladders and pools. Additionally, are they hurricane safe? Whole the design may not quite be there yet, Keep up the good work!

Could you implement an individual equity type model. That would give individuals a since of ownership and pride in the individual creating clients instead of “homeless residents” msybe they could work toward ownership thru some type of equity account. Earning equity by gaining employment skills or furthering their education, volunteering etc..possibly even some type of micro economy ran by the “clients” creating a sense of pride and ownership. Laundry services, maintenence, landscaping, resale store. Turn it into a launching pad. Invest in the clients reducing long term “system costs” I was director of a non-profit organization. These types of “clients” can be pretty resourceful and everyday they hustling find food, shelter etc…homeless does not always mean lazy. And this i know. Good luck. Message me if there’s ever an extra “spot at the inn”
I applaud you for making an effort to do something constructive. I like craig.neighbor’s ideas, too. Instead of saying we can’t, why don’t we start saying how can we
Big deal I’ve been living in a boxtruck I built into a home for 5 years, and now all of a sudden this guy is the greatest thing to come along since homogenized milk?
I commend your efforts, but what you are proposing is nothing more than a RV park model home. SIP panel construction using fiberglass is good. I think your concept is better to be used in other countries than Canada due to infrastructure compliance. Further more your revenue model is flawed. How can a homeless person afford a land lease. Your concept is right for mass scale and for homeless only when government owns the land with infrastructure to allow this kind of housing to happen. It may help the homeless but at what cost to society then.
Structural insulated pannels are already on the market. Cut and assemble on a high density polystyrene base at scale with a door and a bathroom fan and you’re 80% done. Kitchen and washroom amenities can be in public building.
Any number of tiny shelters can be theoretically constructed quickly at scale. But local governments either manage to cause highly inflated costs for the implementation, or juat won’t approve tiny hius
Read my comment again in full. And as I stated in my comments, that the government would need to own the land to make it work. Run the numbers if government were to pay for the land lease and the housing unit maybe. And where does the government get the money to pay for this? Taxes? More taxes? Municipality budget are stretched as it is. And a common problem of the public, and more so the younger generation, is they think governments just print free money. They do not. Your idea for mass scale housing is good. But that has never been the problem. It is infrastructure, and different countries have different policies for infrastructure. Your concept home would be very difficult to get approved in Ontario and in Canada for many reasons besides it being fiberglass SIP panel mass produced homes. So my last line still stands…at what cost to society then.
you will die of Poisoning like the “fast process FEMA experience “ of the Katrina years ….. You can’t use PET pick a new plastic. # for sure not fiberglass without coatings and proper! cure times
Be careful. There are some very powerful organization (UN_ONS – you can buy a vowel) who will not like this.

Jew Landia: Venezuela. Art of the Steal, Art of Sanctions!
Bessent says more sanctions can be lifted this week: U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States could lift additional sanctions on Venezuela as soon as next week to facilitate oil sales and help restart economic investment, adding that nearly $5 billion in Venezuela’s frozen International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) “special drawing rights” could be unlocked to support rebuilding the economy. Bessent also has plans to meet with leaders of the IMF and World Bank to facilitate Venezuela’s international economic engagement, Reuters reported.
[Caracas …The Venezuelan people are calm and firm. Fused into one body with the legitimate government of Nicolás Maduro and now with the acting president Delcy Rodriguez.]
This will not be published in the capitalist media, which is a coincidence…
Trump signs an E.O. declaring Venezuela’s oil funds “sovereign property: President Donald Trump signed an executive order blocking U.S. courts and creditors from seizing Venezuela’s oil revenue held in U.S. Treasury accounts, declaring the funds sovereign property to be used inside Venezuela to promote “peace, prosperity, and stability,” Reuters reported. The move comes amid pressure from companies like ConocoPhillips and Exxon Mobil for the government to recognize its claims to lost property and profits. Trump told ConocoPhillips’s CEO the company would recover “a lot” of its losses but dismissed past nationalizations as their “fault.”
The Venezuelan government has released at least 18 prisoners, human rights groups say: The number of prisoners released in Venezuela has risen to 18, human rights groups told Reuters. The UN Fact-Finding Mission on Venezuela reported that 2,220 people were detained after the 2024 election, with 2,006 later released. More than 200 have been arrested since.
Protest against U.S. imperialism in Mexico City: Thousands marched through Mexico City to protest U.S. imperialism and foreign intervention, chanting slogans rejecting the Monroe Doctrine and U.S. influence in Latin America, with demonstrators carrying flags and banners defending Venezuelan sovereignty.
Marching while their fucking Jew Trained Leaders Sell your country to Blackrock and Oracle.
Israel’s former top general sought donations from David Ellison and his father, Larry, as part of a billionaire coterie to fund digital paramilitaries aimed at sabotaging pro-Palestine activists. The leaked documents show one planner explaining, “In the jungle, we need more guerrillas and less IDF.”
With Paramount and CBS News now under his control, the younger Ellison has installed self-described “Zionist fanatic” Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief.
Anthony Aguilar, the retired United States Army Lt. Col and former Green Beret who blew the whistle on UG Solutions’ human rights abuses in Gaza, told Grayzone he believes that Israel’s ban on the 37 international aid organizations signals the return of UG Solutions as part of a restructured version of the Israeli-controlled Gaza Humanitarian Foundation scheme.
While it’s unclear where the UG Solutions targeter position will be deployed, if they are being hired for upcoming operations in Gaza, Aguilar says “this shows that the US, though paramilitary contractors, is now going to either directly target, or feed target data to the IDF.”
Below is a list of all the aid orgs banned by Israel from operating in Gaza:

everything was going fine with Kevin Barrett’s Substack until his White Malice surfaced, once again: Calling Chauvin righteous, following policies, doing his duty.
I just had to let it go. After major surgery, well, I want to make sure NOTHING inside has been lobotomized. I know I would have argueing with this piece of shit if I had been a fellow faculty member. Something about Wisconsin, Toothless, no?
You are a fucking whore, dude. Calm, collected, you state this from your fucking Moroccan cabana?
For instance, the earlier controversy in Minneapolis-St. Paul over George Floyd was actually distorted by the left-wing people. And an injustice was done to the police officer who was actually following department procedure, tragically and perhaps unwisely. But that particular George Floyd incident was not a case of egregious, extreme abuse by law enforcement.
+–+
So, the fired faculty — you– speaks the fucking truth with his swollen racist lips.
You are just another side of the same dirty American coin that makes Trump Trump. If Trump had been brought up by a Muslim lawyer, Roy Abdul, and had hung out with Muslim businessmen, well, I believe you would be proud of him. Support him. Rationalize EVERYTHING about him.
Hands down, the injustice done to George Floyd was murder and then murder again by white ghouls like you. Adios.
YOU DON”T KILL PEOPLE who are telling you they can’t breathe, okay, fucker Kevin.
You are just so outside of humanity’s core, well, time to just get you off my fucking feed.
The killing of George Floyd, 46, of St. Louis Park — who repeatedly told a Minneapolis police officer he couldn’t breathe as the officer knelt on his neck on May 25, 2020 — sparked days of unrest in Minneapolis and St. Paul and mass protests across the globe over the treatment of Black people by police.
Since then, lawmakers both nationally and locally have debated police reform and whether law enforcement officers must change how they do their jobs. In schools, educators and students have tackled discussions on race and equity, sometimes with controversy. And across Minnesota, community members have marched and come together in a call for change.
In April 2021, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin — who pressed his knee on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes — was convicted of murder and manslaughter in Floyd’s death. He was sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison.
The three other ex-cops who were involved with the arrest have been charged with two counts each of aiding and abetting in the death. Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao go on trial in June 2022.
A federal grand jury has also indicted all four on criminal civil rights charges.
DEFENDING white trash Chauvin. Whewww, that takes the cake!
Moving on:
More from a friend, this time, celebrating “the end of Iran?” Fucking Nigerians, man, and Moroccans, and and and …. He’s big on Trump bombing his home country, Nigeria, except he’s an older man in Houston with a family. Easy to call for executing Muslims from fucking Houston in the Diaspora.
Jamaica:
Israel and Morocco signed a joint military work plan for 2026 this week during the third meeting of their Joint Military Committee, held in Tel Aviv, marking five years since relations were normalized under the Abraham Accords, the IDF announces.
The talks were led by the IDF’s Planning Directorate and its Tevel Division, and included professional working meetings, alongside visits to IDF units, defense industries, military units and relevant directorates.
At the center of the visit was a panel focusing on force build-up from a strategic perspective and shared objectives for cooperation between the two militaries, according to the IDF.
Fucking Jew York City: from Nate Bear’s Substack…..
Yesterday the mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, condemned people for protesting against the sale of land in the West Bank, sales which were happening in a New York synagogue. As part of his condemnation, he labelled Hamas a terrorist organisation.
I did a tweet in response that said this.
Lots of people didn’t like it. It was reposted by the editor of Current Affairs magazine, Nathan Robinson, who said this.
I stand by everything I said.
If the people you elect to fight fascists are regurgitating fascist propaganda, propaganda that manufactured consent for a genocide, A GENOCIDE, then that is, on a very material level, more harmful to justice than the fascists themselves.
To me this is not complicated.
It’s not the fascists who rob you of hope and the possibility of justice, because they offer none in the first place. The people who rob you of hope and the possibility of justice are those who claim to stand for hope and justice then side with the oppressor.
An ally who stabs you in the back is worse than an enemy who stabs you in the chest.
Again, I struggle to see how this is complicated.
What Mamdani said was shameful, utterly shameful.
Labelling Palestinian resistance ‘terrorism’ is literally how consent was manufactured for a genocide. Doesn’t everyone know this? Did we not just watch two years of Israeli politicians and western Zionists cry ‘Hamas’ to defend, cover and justify genocide? Surely everyone saw this, including Mamdani.
So given this, how can anyone defend what he said? And how can anyone defend what he didn’t say?

Hell, Mamdani will be opening up Jew York hotels to ICE with all-you-can-eat bagels and lox thrown in.
Candid Imperialism: Trump, Racketeering and Venezuelan Oil by Binoy Kampmark / January 10th, 2026
It usually takes archival digging, the golden gaffe, an ill-considered remark, and occasional spells of candour by those in power, to admit that the United States has, in common with other imperial powers, brutal ambitions. An example of the latter was General Smedley Butler, who, at his death in 1940, had become the most decorated Marine in US history. After retiring from active service, he was frank about his role. Professing to be a “racketeer” and “gangster for capitalism”, he went on to explain how: “I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Boys to collect revenues in. I helped the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street.” That was just a selection.
With President Donald Trump in power, we do not need a Butler to give the game away or expose any frightful cabal. The empire is out of the closet, bolshie, bright, and more thieving than ever. While the Donroe Doctrine is intended to reprise the Monroe Doctrine, it offers nothing more than imperial rapacity, seizure under pretext. The January 9 meeting with two dozen oil executives at the White House to discuss the fate of the Venezuelan oil market showed Trump to be in full flight as cocky pip and proud procurer of corporate thieving under the cover of government protection.
Representatives from such veteran behemoths as ExxonMobil and Chevron were present to listen to calls from the president that they invest handsomely in modernising and tidying up Venezuela’s tattered oil infrastructure. Problems with the oil itself – heavy, hard to refine, and packed with sulphur, not to mention the questionable number of proven reserves – did not blight the conversation. “American companies will have the opportunity to rebuild Venezuela’s rotting energy infrastructure and eventually increase oil production to levels never seen before,” he crowed at the start of the meeting. Our giant oil companies will be spending at least $100 billion of their money.” In the course of this merry investment, Venezuela would “be very successful, and the people of the United States are going to be big beneficiaries.”
The choice of companies involved in the venture would, however, not be determined by free market wiles or any invisible hand. “We are going to be making the decision as to which oil companies can go in, which we will allow to go in.” They would mostly be American, naturally. Forget the Venezuelans, he insisted. “You’re dealing with us directly. You’re not dealing with Venezuela at all. We don’t want you to deal with Venezuela.”
Jeffery Hilderbrand of the oil and gas producer Hilcorp Energy, and noted Trump donor, was all salivation and gratitude. He was also pleased with the implausible alibi Trump had offered for controlling and pilfering Venezuelan oil for American interests: finding imagined enemies who might do the same thing. “Thank you for your great, tremendous leadership in protecting the interests in the Western Hemisphere,” he sighed with oleaginous gratitude. “The message that you have sent to China and our enemies to stay out of our backyard is absolutely fantastic… Hilcorp is fully committed and ready to rebuild the infrastructure in Venezuela.”
CEO Bill Armstrong, of the Armstrong Oil and Gas company, also smacked his lips at the plunderous prospects. “We are ready to go to Venezuela,” he declared. “In real estate terms, it is prime real estate. And it’s like West Palm about 50 years ago. Very ripe.” Fracking executive and Trump supporter Harold Hamm was tickled by the prospect of adventure, seeing Venezuela as little more than a playground to roam in and profit from. “It excites me as an explorationist.” The country was “exciting” with its abundant reserves, posing “challenges and the industry knows how to handle that.”
Chevron, which already has a presence in the country in partnership with the state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela SA, accounting for 240,000 barrels per day, expects to bolster its production by 50% over the next 18 to 24 months. Those at Repsol are dreaming of tripling the current daily production of 45,000 barrels over the next few years, provided the conditions are appropriate.
Not all the oil companies expressed the same level of glowing confidence. Naked plunder comes with its challenges and logistical tangles, not least the touchy issue of Venezuelan sovereignty. Exxon CEO Darren Woods was, for instance, concerned that much would have to be done to make Venezuela an appropriate recipient of capital. One way was to ensure that whoever was in control in Caracas would be eternally reliable and amenable to US oil interests. “We have had our assets seized there twice and so you can imagine to re-enter a third time would require some pretty significant changes from what we’ve historically seen and what is currently the state.” As things stood, given “legal and commercial constructs and frameworks in place”, Venezuela was “ininvestable”.
That same day, Trump further confirmed the choking of Venezuela by signing an Executive Order to prevent “the seizure of Venezuelan oil revenue that could undermine critical US efforts to ensure economic stability in Venezuela.” The Order prohibits US courts from seizing revenue collected from Venezuelan oil and any relevant holds in US Treasury accounts. The customary, absurd justifications follow: to lose control of such funds would “empower malign actors like Iran and Hezbollah while weakening efforts to bring peace, prosperity, and stability to the Venezuelan people and to the Western Hemisphere as a whole.” Were these funds to be tampered with, US objectives to stem “the influx of illegal aliens and disrupting the flood of illicit narcotics” would be compromised.
Trump has signaled that he could order strikes against drug cartels on Mexican territory.
He renewed the threats against America’s southern neighbor after US commandos abducted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro during a lightning raid on his compound in Caracas last week. The US government accuses Maduro of narcotics trafficking, which he has denied.
[Of course it is perfectly 1st Amendment legal to pray for the death of each and every uniformed mercenary slug going into another country under orders of Trump and Company, for whom a thousand wicken and a thousand witches are conjuring up spells for the death of not just Trump . . . hint hint!]
Trump has also accused Mexico of “flooding” the US with drugs and illegal immigrants, many of whom he has described as violent criminals. Since September 2025, the US has struck at least 35 alleged cartel boats in the Caribbean.
In a civilized world, the U.S. would not get away with war crimes that killed 100 people (combatants and civilians combined) to kidnap Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. The U.S dictatorship would face being overthrown by foreign armies (with UN authorization) if it did not return Maduro and his wife to Venezuela, and pay massive reparations to all the victims’ families in Caracas. In this fantasy scenario the U.S. would never have dared to perpetrate this crime in the first place, or imposed murderous illegal sanctions (more recently an armed blockade) on Venezuela.
And so Hedges is still reeling from a year now, and the genocide of more than two years, now, and, maybe from the AmeriKKKa that always was:
Terror is the engine that empowers dictatorships. It eliminates dissidents. It silences critics. It dismantles the law. It creates a society of timid and frightened collaborators, those who look away when people are snatched off streets or gunned down, those who inform to save themselves, those who retreat into their tiny rabbit holes, pulling down the blinds, desperately praying to be left in peace.
Terror works.
The iron doors have not yet shut. There are still protests. The media is still able to document state atrocities, including the Jan. 7 murder of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross. But the doors are closing fast. ICE has deported over 300,000 people and detained nearly 69,000 others — as well as been involved in 16 shootings, including four killings — since Trump began his campaign against immigrants.
But wait, Chris, Nazi Trump has plenty of murderous history from the annals of this dirty country that for all intents and purposed should be wiped off the face of the earth.
Two days after the Dakota surrendered at Camp Release on September 26, 1862, a military commission began trying Dakota men accused of participating in the war. The rapid trials — some no more than five minutes — of 392 prisoners were completed in November. According to the Minnesota Historical Society, 303 men were sentenced to death and 16 received prison terms.
After reviewing the trial transcripts, President Abraham Lincoln provided a list of 39 names of prisoners to be executed. One received a last minute reprieve. On the morning of December 26, 1862, in front of an estimated crowd of 4,000 spectators and on a specially constructed mass-hanging scaffold, the men were executed. They were left dangling from the scaffold for a half hour.
The Three-Fifths Compromise (1787): Counted three-fifths of the enslaved population for legislative representation, embedding racial inequality into the U.S. Constitution.
Fugitive Slave Acts (1793, 1850): Federal laws that mandated the return of escaped enslaved people to their owners, even from free states.
The Dred Scott Decision (1857): A Supreme Court ruling that declared African Americans, whether free or enslaved, could not be U.S. citizens.
In 1787, A Negro Slave In The United States Was Counted As Three-Fifths (60%) Of A White Person. In 2024, A Resident Of Gaza Is Worth Less Than One-Thirty-Sixth (2.79%) Of A Jew.

On the evening of Feb. 12, 1946, Isaac Woodard, a 26-year-old black Army veteran, boarded a bus in Augusta, Georgia. Earlier that day, he’d been honorably discharged, and he was heading to Winnsboro, South Carolina to reunite with his wife.
The bus driver made a stop en route. When Woodard asked if he had time to use the bathroom, the driver cursed loudly at him. Woodard would later admit in a deposition that he cursed back.
Neither man said anything until the bus stopped in Batesburg, South Carolina. There, the driver told the local police about Woodard’s impudence. Woodard was ordered off the bus. When Woodard tried to give his version of events, a police officer struck him with a night stick. Woodard was escorted to the jail, where, he later testified, he was repeatedly beaten by the police chief, Linwood Shull. Woodard said that Shull pounded him in his eyes with the end of the night stick until he blacked out (charges Shull would deny).
NOTE: Real time breaking news on local Facebook Page, Waldport Free Speech Forum. Ahh, interruption. So my spouse said I have both been blocked by some freaky Waldport Free Speech Forum administator, AND, get this, the White Trash announced on his fucking FB page, “the authorties have been contacted.”
You know, for condemning Trump, ICE, Gestapo, and he lists the same old shit: against our president, against our country, against police and military, against Israel, blah blah blah.
Yeah, my wife is concerned, but I am not. All those fucking good little Germans. His name is T. Swift? More of the dirty shame that is now and HAD ALWAYS been AmeriKKKa, stiff armed racists by many other mothers.
I will keep you tuned in, but . . . . And, yes, you can thought experiment anything, including the death of ICE agents in their hotel rooms or the bombing of Air Force One. Fucking THOUGHT and ASPIRATION thinking.

AGAIN, anyone can say he or she WANTS Trump DEAD. He or she can say ALL ICE should be Molotoved, fragged, dead.
Shit dawg, from the comfort of my keyboard desk, yep, I am not in a movie theater yelling fire.
Here, Google Gulag Brin AI:
Legal Standards for Speech
True Threats vs. Opinions: Under federal law (18 U.S. Code § 871), it is a felony to knowingly and willfully make a “true threat” to take the life of or inflict bodily harm upon the President or a former President.
General Statements: Simply wishing for harm to come to someone, or saying “I wish somebody would kill him,” is generally considered protected speech as long as it does not include a specific plan or intent to act.
Incitement: Speech is only unprotected if it is directed to inciting “imminent lawless action” and is likely to produce such action, a standard set by the Supreme Court in Brandenburg v. Ohio.
Current Political Context (Late 2025 – Early 2026)
Assassination Rhetoric: A federal jury recently acquitted a former Coast Guard lieutenant who called for Trump’s assassination on social media, with attorneys successfully arguing the posts were protected First Amendment speech.
Recent Tensions: Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September 2025, the Trump administration has signaled a crackdown on “hate speech” and rhetoric that it claims facilitates violence.
Controversial Statements: In November 2025, Trump himself sparked backlash for social media posts labeling Democratic members of Congress “traitors” and calling their actions “seditious behavior, punishable by death“.
Potential Consequences
Secret Service Investigation: Even if speech is legally protected, the Secret Service frequently investigates individuals who make public comments about the death of the President to determine if they pose a genuine risk.
Employment Actions: While the government may be limited by the First Amendment, private employers are often free to terminate employees for making callous or violent remarks, as seen in numerous firings following Charlie Kirk’s death in 2025.
Wishing or praying for President Trump’s death is not illegal under U.S. law, as it is considered protected free speech under the First Amendment. The law distinguishes between a genuine threat and merely expressing an opinion, however offensive.
Legal, and not all that unusual. Merely wishing for someone’s death is not illegal, nor is offering up a hope for supernatural intercession on that wish. Hell, you could make actual offerings, make vows, and otherwise take material actions to try to persuade the divine to carry out your wishes.
We have live examples to draw on. Boebert isn’t exactly doing poorly in spite of her tasteless and very public prayer for Biden’s death. There’s also Psalm 109, if you want examples straight from Biblical sources, which is an impressively extensive curse against the foes of (probably) David.
I know that it’s illegal, possibly treasonous (?) to say or imply that someone wants to or is going to kill or conspire to harm (?) the sitting US president.
Saying that someone is going to kill the president is neither illegal nor treason.
It is against the law to threaten the president (18 U.S. Code § 871). That’s narrow – there’s a ton of jurisprudence on what constitutes a threat, and while little of it is specifically about this section, the consistent thing is that it takes more than a mere statement of a violent outcome to count as a threat. Watts is a good place to start.
People have been prosecuted for saying that they themselves are going to “hang the former President” (Stephen Taubert, charged in 2017), but someone saying that “fuck the niggar, he will have a 50 cal in the head soon” was found to be protected speech under the First Amendment (Walter Bagdasarian, acquitted on appeal in 2011). Against that background, a mere prayer hardly registers.
Bad shot or flase flag crap?
Of course the world would have been better if a missile had hit this Semen Drip Circle Jerk Off. Yes, a Houthi drone and missible congrats package on his coronation!
Slotkin, a former CIA officer, is joined in the video by fellow Democrats including Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona and Reps. Jason Crow of Colorado, Chris Deluzio of Pennsylvania, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, all military veterans and former intelligence officers, where they urge military members to “refuse illegal orders.”
“This administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens,” Slotkin, Kelly and Crow say.
A sitting president of the United States has called for the execution of six legislators. I don’t know this for certain, but it seems nearly impossible that this has happened before. I don’t think Abraham Lincoln did it, and he was dealing with actual traitors. Maybe, you know, Franklin Pierce or James Buchanan did it on a bad day. Or Andrew Johnson. He was temperamentally capable of something like this. But that hardly makes it defensible. As they were three of the worst presidents in U.S. history, that only makes it worse.
He is a Nazi, drawing plans for internal and external illegal operations. So, with Hitler in your midst, you call that a disagreement with Hitler’s Policies or Political Supporters or the Mob Supporting Hitler?
“Threatening death against people you disagree with is totally unacceptable and un-American—especially when it comes to lawmakers who have dedicated their lives to serving this great nation and the Constitution,” Hertel said. “Trump’s threats today go against everything this country stands for, and every single leader, Republican and Democrat, should be wholeheartedly condemning this behavior.”

An Open Letter from America was sent on 11 November 2014, warning countries in Europe and EU regulators not to authorize GM crops because of the devastating effects on human health and the environment. David Cameron ignored that advice on behalf of England. He and Defra concealed the letter from the British public. The European Commission and the European Food Safety Authority ignored it as well and have continued to approve GM Crops for growing and for food and feed in the EU. Defra dismissed the complaints of Crop-sprayed rural residents in the UK of ill health: cancers, neurological conditions, allergies etc. just as the Argentinian Government dismissed the health complaints of rural communities in Crop-sprayed towns. In their re-assessment the RMS, EFSA and the European Glyphosate Task Force excluded papers from Latin America where cancers, birth defects, infertility and DNA changes were shown. Exposure of the brains of unborn and young children in the UK to chemicals is reflected in OECD PISA figures for declining educational achievement in 2013. A 2016 study also shows that in England the young have lower basic skills than their counterparts in Europe. The global élite may be able to survive by eating organic food, but not by the pollution of water, soil and air by genotoxic and teratogenic herbicides, insecticides and other industrial chemicals. Governments and Regulators only measure a small fraction of them. The chemical industry has created a toxic environment from which none can escape. The devastating effects of these silent killers in our environment do not distinguish between farmers or city dwellers, the wealthy or the poor, between media moguls, editors or their reporters, Monsanto or Syngenta Executives, Prime Ministers or Presidents. Many people in the UK are no longer reaching the biblical age of three-score-years-and ten because they are dying of cancers.

Former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon is laying the groundwork for a 2028 run for president, two people familiar with his thinking tell Axios.
Why it matters: The MAGA godfather isn’t serious about becoming president — that’s not the point. Instead, he’s told allies he wants to shape the debate and pressure Republican candidates to embrace an “America First” agenda — including a non-interventionist foreign policy, economic populism and opposition to Big Tech.
Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who has appeared on Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, said: “The Bannon campaign will merge the foreign policy of Rand Paul with the tax policy of Elizabeth Warren.”
Her fucking country is being bombed and sanctoned, but the Cunt is messing with Trump’s small dick ego? Sharing might be caring, but not, apparently, when it comes to the Nobel Peace Prize.
On Friday, the Norwegian Nobel Institute clarified the rules governing the award, writing that the facts were “clear and well established.”
“Once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared or transferred to others,” the institute wrote. “The decision is final and stands for all time.”
The statement was released after María Corina Machado, Venezuela’s opposition leader and the winner of last year’s prize, offered this week to give her Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump, who has long coveted the award.

The National Park Service card policy was updated this week to say that passes may no longer be valid if they’ve been “defaced or altered.” The change, which was revealed in an internal email to National Park Service staff obtained by SFGATE, comes just as the sticker movement has gained traction across social media.

Mass surveillance, the metaverse, making America ‘great again’: the novelists who predicted our present
From Jorge Luis Borges to George Orwell and Margaret Atwood, novelists have foreseen some of the major developments of our age. What can we learn from their prophecies?
This year marks 100 years since the first demonstration of television in London. Elizabeth II sent the first royal email in 1976. The first meeting of the Lancashire Association of Change Ringers took place in 1876. All notable anniversaries. But I’m going with 2026 as the 85th anniversary of a great short story: Jorge Luis Borges’s The Garden of Forking Paths (1941). It’s about chance, labyrinths and an impossible novel. Ts’ui Pên, an ancestor of the narrator, sets himself the task of writing a novel with a cast of thousands:“an enormous guessing game, or parable, in which the subject is time”. In most novels, when a character reaches a fork in the path, they must choose: this way, or that way. Yet in Ts’ui Pên’s novel, all possible paths are chosen. This creates “a growing, dizzying web of divergent, convergent, and parallel times”. The garden of forking paths is infinite.
It’s often said that Borges’s story foreshadows the multiverse hypothesis in quantum physics – first proposed by Hugh Everett in 1957, then popularised by Bryce DeWitt in the 1970s as the “many worlds interpretation” of quantum mechanics. In a 2005 essay, The Garden of the Forking Worlds, the physicist Alberto Rojo investigated this claim. Did the physicists read Borges? Or did Borges read the universe? It turned out that Bryce DeWitt hadn’t known about Borges’s garden. When Rojo questioned Borges, he also denied everything: “This is really curious,” he said, “because the only thing I know about physics comes from my father, who once showed me how a barometer works.” He added: “Physicists are so imaginative!”
As Rojo’s mock-inquiry demonstrates, fictional foreshadowing is a strange art. We don’t live in Borges’s garden, so it’s impossible to go back in time, splice the universe and ascertain what happens if Borges never writes about splicing the universe. Would Everett still propose his universe-splicing theory? The universe is mysterious; so is the interplay of cause and effect. HG Wells’s 1914 futuristic novel The World Set Free portrays the devastating effects of compact “atomic bombs”. The physicist Leo Szilard read Wells’s novel in 1932 and conceived the nuclear chain reaction in 1933. We can’t enter a parallel world wherein Wells thrives as a draper’s apprentice, stops writing and becomes the distinguished manager of Hyde’s Drapery Emporium in Southsea. Yet, one line of influence is clear. When Szilard realised the significance of his theory, he felt afraid: “Knowing what it would mean – and I knew because I had read HG Wells.”
The future is an uncharted territory, a place beyond maps. This affords writers a certain imaginative freedom: to create dystopias, utopias, experiments and imaginary societies. In Begum Rokeya’s Sultana’s Dream (1905) – which appeared a decade before Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s Herland – a traveller ventures into a matriarchal hi-tech society where hard labour is done “by electricity”, it’s easy to cook and transport options include a sort of hydrogen helicopter. Marge Piercy’s 1976 novel Woman on the Edge of Time considers both utopian and dystopian futures: a peaceful rural commune versus a torrid hyper-capitalist city where the rich extend their lifespans as the poor struggle to survive. The suggestion of Piercy’s novel is that these futures slide in and out of existence, responsive to events in the present. Or perhaps they only exist in the mind of the protagonist. Octavia E Butler’s 1993 Parable of the Sower and 1998 Parable of the Talents are set in a post-apocalyptic California. Once again the wealthy immure themselves against dystopia, sequestered in fortified communities. The climate is wrecked; people long for the good old days. A nefarious president swears he will “Make America Great Again” – looking backwards to Reagan, forwards to Maga. Butler describes her characters in a state of surreal detachment; their climate apocalypse feels “old hat in science fiction”. This sense of reality as implausible, eerily akin to meta-fiction, foreshadows our own ironic-dystopian present.

Then there are the writers who predicted our surveillance society: Yevgeny Zamyatin in We (English translation published in 1924), Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World (1932) and George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949). These novels are so absurdly relevant to our age of surveillance capitalism that it seems our tech barons have used them not as satirical warnings but as motivational texts. In all three futuristic societies, an ideological super-state prohibits any form of privacy. Solitude is mistrusted because it encourages contemplation and possible independence of thought. Even the privacy of the inner mind is – wherever possible – violated. A successor to these novels is Margaret Atwood’s 1985 The Handmaid’s Tale, another prescient story of mass surveillance and the control of women’s bodies by reactionary governments. Meanwhile, Atwood’s MaddAdamtrilogy (Oryx and Crake, 2003; The Year of the Flood, 2009; MaddAdam, 2013) foregrounds ethical dilemmas concerning bioengineering, pandemics and monopolistic corporations.
In Neal Stephenson’s 1992 novel Snow Crash, the “metaverse” is an immersive virtual reality, requiring a headset. In 2021, Mark Zuckerberg famously rebranded the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp as Meta and stated his intention to develop a “metaverse”. William Gibson’s 1984 novel Neuromancer imagined a VR-scape called the Matrix. This novel brought the term “cyberspace” into, well, cyberspace (and beyond). In Philip K Dick’s The Minority Report (1956), pre-crime units employ psychics to predict future crimes so the police can make preemptive arrests. What happens, Dick asks, if a crime is predicted but the future malefactor changes their mind? Are they still pre-guilty? Fast-forward to our present and, yes, pre-crime operations are being trialled across the UK. No psychics required; oracular law enforcement agencies use data mining, predictive algorithms and facial recognition instead. What could possibly go wrong?
Finally, there is Dick’s endlessly helpful idea of “kipple”, coined in his 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. For Dick, “Kipple is useless objects, like junk mail or match folders after you use the last match or gum wrappers.” The first law of kipple is that “it drives out nonkipple”. You can’t win against kipple, “except temporarily and maybe in one spot”. Kipple is now all the algo-rubbish online, our bulging inboxes, the AI slop. Could Dick have predicted this? Can some prescient novelists really see the future?
Future fictions are, as Atwood has said, really deep examinations of the present. From there, as Borges shows, it’s an enormous guessing game. Some guesses at the future are better than others. Some are strangely brilliant. Could Dick have envisioned, all the way back in the 1960s, a world where humans would be swamped by the flotsam and jetsam of modern life – or was he really writing about overwhelm in his own present moment? Either way, his advice still applies, both prescient and inspiring: maybe all we can do is find a balance between the pressures of kipple and nonkipple – the useless junk and the objects of value. When the tech barons have taken the dystopias for utopias, perhaps this is as utopian as it gets. Fight kipple!

Drag artists launch petition asking Kennedy Center donors to halt funds: L.A. arts and culture this weekend
Washington National Opera is leaving the Kennedy Center
The Washington National Opera performs “Come Home: A Celebration of Return,” inspired by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, Nov. 4, 2021. The opera company decided on Friday to move its performances out of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, abandoning the hall where it has played since 1971 in perhaps the largest artistic rebuke yet to President Donald Trump’s campaign to remake the Kennedy Center in his image. It’s boycott central. The Adelaide festival has pulled down part of its website as dozens of speakers said they were boycotting writers’ week, after Palestinian Australian author Randa Abdel-Fattah was dumped from the lineup with the board citing “cultural sensitivity” concerns in the wake of the Bondi terror attack.
The page promoting the schedule of authors, journalists, academics and commentators was “unpublished” on Friday following widespread condemnation of the board’s decision to remove Abdel-Fattah.
“In respect of the wishes of the writers who have recently indicated their withdrawal from the writers’ week 2026 program, we have temporarily unpublished the list of participants and events while we work through changes to the website,” the festival posted online.
By Friday afternoon, 47 participants had withdrawn, with more believed to be coordinating their exit announcements with fellow speakers.

The coin of the realm:
“The unholy alliance between Zionism and fascist movements in Europe goes back to at least the 1920s… the two movements were ideologically linked.
“The authors of the Jewish Holocaust are not only those so-called Western democracies that systematically barred desperate Jews fleeing Nazi persecution from entering their respective countries, but also a significant number of Zionist leaders in Germany, the Jewish part of Palestine and in the United States, Canada and Great Britain.
“These Zionist leaders concluded a secret deal with the Third Reich which resulted in the failure of an anti-Hitler boycott which had been undertaken by trade unions and Jewish War Veterans (First World War)”.
The unholy alliance between Zionism and fascist movements in Europe goes back to at least the 1920s. Lenni Brenner in his well-researched and well-documented book, Zionism in the Age of the Dictators, points out that relations between elements of the Zionist leadership in Germany (and later in the Jewish part of Palestine) had close relations with the budding fascist movement in Germany as early as the Twenties. The two movements were ideologically linked: they were both predicated on the notion that the Jews comprised an alien race that did not belong on German Aryan soil and belonged elsewhere, preferably in Palestine.
Henry Kissinger, writing – shortly before his long-overdue death – with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, predicted this reaction.
“If humanity begins to sense its possible replacement as the foremost intellectual and physical actor on the planet, some might attribute a kind of divinity to the machines themselves, thereby potentially spurring further human fatalism and submission,” the pair wrote in the unsubtly-titled Genesis in 2024.
“Fatalism and submission” being ideal building blocks for a totalitarian society, AI presents the perfect reality-gating mechanism for a ruling class desperate to hold on to the hearts and minds of an increasingly distrustful populace. It’s far simpler to control a series of reality-dictating AI “nodes” – even to foster the appearance of competition, as with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and the like – and influence all reality downstream than to attempt to shore up the crumbling western media ecosystem. The ruling class understand that short of locking down the internet entirely – which western efforts to blot out Russian coverage of the Ukraine war proved isn’t really possible – merely controlling the media, social or otherwise, is no longer enough. And if you can pass your reality-dictating mechanism off as an ineffable deity? So much the better.

I was particularly appalled by the announcement that the “Arch of Tr[i]ump[h]” project, which has been under discussion for some months, will now be starting within the next two months. Trump was in the White House waving a model of the proposed arch in his tiny fist last week as he babbled about the great project. The arch will be in the middle of the traffic circle that adjoins the entrance road to Arlington National Cemetery on the banks of the Potomac River. The circle also connects to the Memorial Bridge which crosses the river to the Lincoln Memorial. Trump characteristically declared that the monument will be much more imposing than the similar triumphal arches in Paris and Europe that celebrate wars fought and won. What he did not mention, however, is the presumable intention that he has to use the monument to glorify himself with his name in large letters across the arch lintel even though he never fought in any war for his own country due to his alleged “bone spurs” ailment. Nevertheless, the arch will be a monument to Donald J. Trump, similar to the recent desecration inflicted by his name being added to the US Institute of Peace and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, even if the monumental arch does coincidentally also commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America.
It’s looking like Himmeler is going to run in 2028.
The following year, Rubio’s memoir cast Cicilia as a paragon of Old World filial piety, a central presence in his fondest childhood memories. The house where Cicilia cut and stored cocaine into emptied cigarette cartons was depicted as a sanctuary that held his far-flung family together during the difficult Vegas years. Most significantly for the football-obsessed young Rubio, Cicilia paid him enough cash to clean animal cages and bathe his seven Samoyed dogs so he could buy tickets to every Dolphins home game of Dan Marino’s 14-2 sophomore season. On the December day in Rubio’s junior year of high school that Cicilia was taken away in handcuffs from the home where he’d briefly lived, his entire family was “stunned.”
[Photo: Dirty prison called a church of the LDS near where I live. No gardens, no benches, no picnic tables, no amenities. Mormons!}
As a third grader, Rubio convinced his family to convert to Mormonism to better fit in with their wholesome new neighbors during a short stint living in Las Vegas. He spent every spare hour of high school obsessing over football, and his wife attends masses at multiple churches multiple times per week.
Marco Rubio credits his short-lived time as a Mormon for providing a moral compass in his youth, though he also discloses for the first time his family’s struggles with the constraints of the faith and his eventual return to the Catholic fold.
In his new autobiography, An American Son, available Tuesday, the Florida Republican candidly discusses the three years he spent as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lauds the Utah-based faith for helping his Cuban-immigrant mother and him when they moved from Miami to Las Vegas when he was a grade-schooler.
“All in all, the Mormon church provided the sound moral structure my mother had wanted for us, and a circle of friends from stable, God-fearing families,” Rubio writes in his book. “When we left the church a few years later, mostly at my instigation, we did so with gratitude for its considerable contribution to our happiness in those years.”
Rubio — a potential running mate to presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a Mormon — talks for the first time in his memoir about converting to the faith, a family trip to Provo and Salt Lake City to visit temple sites and how seriously he took his new religion.
“In contrast to my parents, I immersed myself in LDS theology, and understood it as well as an 8-year-old mind can,” Rubio writes.
“Although my school grades were never impressive, I was a voracious reader, and I studied church literature and other sources of information to learn all I could about the church’s teachings.”
Rubio’s journey to Mormonism began when his family settled in “fascinatingly strange” Las Vegas in 1979. The family’s new home, on a cul-de-sac in a working-class neighborhood, was right across the street from his new friends, the Thiriot boys, who were Latter-day Saints.
“They were a close-knit family who were always doing things together,” Rubio says. “They represented the kind of safe, respectable family life my parents wanted for us.”
The faith’s wholesomeness, its values and the community closeness that came with it drove Rubio, his mother, Oriala, and his sister, Veronica, to baptism. His father, Mario, didn’t convert, Rubio writes.
Bryan Thiriot, a Republican consultant and legislative chairman of a St. George district, recalls growing up with Rubio, who was also known as Tony, a shortened version of his middle name, Anthony.
“We were very close friends growing up there,” Thiriot recalls.
The two attended school together, sat by each other in church, teamed up on camping trips and competed in Pinewood Derbies.
“I would say this straight up, Marco is a very religious man,” Thiriot told The Salt Lake Tribune, noting long conversations the two had about faith and politics. “We actually had conversations about Social Security.”
Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio, wife of Senator Marco Rubio, is a devout Christian who attends both Catholic Mass and services at a Southern Baptist megachurch (Christ Fellowship) with her family, hosts Bible study, and sends her kids to different Christian schools, but reports from around 2012 noted she was involved with Christ Fellowship and found their teaching impactful, though they remained connected to Catholic traditions. While the claim of daily mass attendance isn’t explicitly confirmed in these snippets, she’s known for strong religious devotion, attending multiple services weekly, and finding spiritual fulfillment at Christ Fellowship.
“I craved, literally, the most Blessed Sacrament, holy Communion, the sacramental point of contact between the Catholic and the liturgy of heaven. I’m a Roman Catholic. I’m theologically in line with the Roman Catholic Church. I believe in the authority of the church.”
But because of the value which he finds in other religions, he and his family often still attend Saturday night worship at Christ Fellowship, and he has particular praise for that congregation’s strong preaching and children’s programs, he said.
Yeah, I was doing some recouperating walking around and waiting for security to be called:
And then, another church just down the way where we live, and this fucking Jesus Christ blasphemy — two yurts, empty, delapitated, and, this is it, man.

STAN where are you? R.I.P.
“Remote Area Medical” has been offering regular, mobile clinics in Southwest Virginia that have attracted thousands of patients needing care. RAM intends to expand operations—including to other regions of the Commonwealth.
RAM Founder Stan Brock starred in the TV show, Wild Kingdom. He saw a need for health care in remote foreign places where doctors lived weeks away. But Brock was stunned at how many Americans also need care, so he and 84,000 volunteers have brought millions of dollars of free care to what he calls “distressed” U.S. counties.
“When you come into one of these events with a mouth full of terrible teeth, or you’re in pain, whether it’s your bones are in pain or your teeth are in pain, or you can’t see to get a job, for that particular patient that’s helped, it’s a life-changing experience.”
Expanding Medicaid could help many who come, but it does not cover dental and vision care for adults. Ophthalmologist Victoria Weiss said as a result, there’s an urgent need for those services.
“Patients can finally drive safely to work and also work on the computer to pursue schooling or a job. I saw a patient this summer, and his glasses were held together with safety pins, and his glasses were 30 years old.”
With a large donation, RAM has bought 20 more dental chairs, eye exam equipment, and a mobile vehicle that can make up to 400 pairs of glasses per day.

Destruction of medical technology is putting patients’ lives at risk, Gaza doctors say: Doctors at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza warned on Thursday that the destruction of X-ray and imaging equipment is putting patients’ lives at risk, with clinicians forced to make critical decisions without basic diagnostic tools, according to Felesteen Online. Emergency physician Abdel Rahim Al-Adawi said doctors are “working blind” after Israeli forces destroyed labs and imaging units, leaving staff unable to determine causes of respiratory distress, fractures, or internal bleeding, while hospital officials said hundreds of patients each day are denied access to a proper diagnosis. Radiology chief Mohammed Mattar described the situation as a “complete diagnostic collapse” and urged urgent international intervention, warning that delays in restoring imaging capacity will cost lives.
UN aid efforts reach more than 16,000 households in Gaza: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said it reached more than 16,000 households in Gaza this week, providing access to shelter and winter supplies. This number hardly meets the need, with aid agencies estimating that around 1.3 million people still urgently need shelter, and with only about 50,000 tents having entered the enclave since the ceasefire. “As emergency structures, tents offer limited protection from heavy rain, flooding, or cold, and rapidly deteriorate under prolonged use,” the UN warned. Authorities have called for a rapid shift toward transitional housing, supplies for which remain blocked.
Education in Gaza is not a “critical activity,” Israel says: Israeli authorities told the UN that “education is not a ‘critical activity’” for Palestinians, according to UN Secretary General’s spokesperson, as Israel continues to block the entry of basic school supplies needed for more than 625,000 school-age children in Gaza who remain out of the education system for a third year. With only about 230,000 students reached through 420 temporary learning spaces, the Guardian reported that items like paper and pencils are effectively barred under Israel’s import rules, despite U.S. requests to ease the restrictions.

Renee Good’s Time at Old Dominion Included an Award-Winning Poem
“What I saw in her work was a writer that was trying to illuminate the lives of others,” a faculty member recalled.
Kent Wascom, director of the creative writing M.F.A. program at Old Dominion University, said he met Renee Good in the fall of 2019 when she took his fiction class because she wanted to experiment with a new form of expression.
While other young writers tended to write about themselves or what they knew, Ms. Good consistently sought to write beyond her own experience, he recalled in an interview on Thursday.
She wrote about elderly people, veterans and people from different places in other times. “What I saw in her work was a writer that was trying to illuminate the lives of others,” he said.
That alone was remarkable, but even more so was the fact that she was completing her coursework while pregnant and working to support herself, he said. When the coronavirus pandemic shutdowns began in the spring of 2020 and lessons went remote, Ms. Good continued to show up for class and sought to make sure others did, too.
“I very much remember her being someone who made others feel better in that moment,” he said.
Ms. Good lived in Minneapolis.Credit…David Guttenfelder/The New York Times
Mr. Wascom said he coordinated with other professors to help ensure she could complete her degree as the end of her pregnancy coincided with the end of her semester. He fought back tears while remembering how Ms. Good later came into his office to thank him and introduce him to her new baby.
Ms. Good, 37, was killed by an ICE agent on Wednesday in Minneapolis. Federal officials, including President Trump, have defended the shooting as lawful, saying that the agent who fired had acted in self-defense. City and state officials called those accounts “propaganda” and “garbage.”
In 2020, Ms. Good also won one of Old Dominion’s most prestigious accolades, the Academy of American Poets Prize. The award program is administered by the Academy of American Poets, but every participating university or college conducts its own competition.
Rajiv Mohabir, a poetry professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, said he selected her poem when he served as a guest judge for Old Dominion. He remembered the poem, “On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs,” stood out from the stack of about 20 submissions — the names of their authors all redacted — because of its tension between brutality and wonder. The poem contrasts the violent dissection of pigs in biology education with childhood understanding of faith and memory.
Mr. Mohabir, a British immigrant with Guyanese parents, said he never had the chance to meet or interact with Ms. Good, as he was teaching in Boston then and the contest was held remotely that year. But he said he was struck by the poem’s idea that “we have to kill something in order to know it,” and since Ms. Good’s killing, has been ruminating on its ending words:
“that the bible and qur’an and bhagavad gita are sliding long hairs behind my ear like mom used to & exhaling from their mouths ‘make room for wonder’ —
all my understanding dribbles down the chin onto the chest & is summarized as:
life is merely
to ovum and sperm
and where those two meet
and how often and how well
and what dies there.”

A Chinook helicopter pilot who helped plan the operation to capture former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was wounded in the leg during the pre-dawn mission, said U.S. officials who spoke to CBS News under the condition of anonymity to discuss national security matters.
At the outset of the daring operation, a formation of U.S. Army helicopters carrying a squad of Delta Force commandos slipped toward Caracas largely unnoticed.
But as the aircraft drew closer to the heavily fortified compound where Maduro was believed to be holed up, the calm broke. Venezuelan defensive positions opened fire, and U.S. helicopters responded with their own suppressive fire, according to the U.S. officials.
A heavy, twin-rotor MH-47 Chinook, the lead aircraft in the formation tasked with inserting the assault team, was struck by hostile fire.
Though damaged, it remained airborne and completed its run. The U.S. officials who spoke to CBS News said the Chinook pilot who also helped plan the mission was wounded multiple times in the leg during the engagement.

Warning that “war is back in vogue” and that peace is increasingly sought through force rather than justice, Pope Leo XIV issued a strong appeal for humility, dialogue, and a renewed commitment to multilateralism in his address to the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See.
Speaking on Friday, 9 January, during the traditional exchange of New Year greetings, the Pope cautioned that the foundations of international coexistence are being steadily undermined, as diplomacy based on dialogue gives way to the logic of power and deterrence.
“The principle established after the Second World War, which prohibited nations from using force to violate the borders of others, has been completely undermined,” he said, warning that such a mindset gravely threatens the rule of law itself.
It’s a role that could further complicate already strained relations with the Trump administration, even though the Mexican government insists that exports to the island have not increased.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum acknowledged on Wednesday that “with the current situation in Venezuela, Mexico has become an important supplier” of crude oil to Cuba, but asserted that “no more oil is being sent than has been sent historically; there is no specific shipment.”
She added that those shipments are made via “contracts” or as “humanitarian aid,” but offered no concrete figures on the number of barrels exported.

To be a JEW? It is code for Zionist Imperial Mafia, so these fuckers? Who the fuck cares?
The killing of 14-year-old Yosef Eisenthal, who was run over by a bus during an anti-recruitment protest in an Orthodox district of West Jerusalem on Tuesday night, has brought renewed attention to one of the most contentious issues in Israeli politics: the exemption of ultra-Orthodox Jews from military service.
According to numerous analysts, the scale of the fissure is such that it poses an existential threat to the right-wing coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which has so far weathered multiple accusations of genocide in Gaza and criticism over unilateral attacks on regional neighbours.
Oh, Jews got your TV, too. Paramount Skydance believes it finally has the upper hand in its race against Netflix to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery – partly because it believes the Netflix deal is unraveling on its own, On The Money has learned.
“A recent video clearly raises concerns that they are not meeting our standards and values,” Hilton Hotels said in a statement. “As such, we are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our systems. Hilton is — and has always been — a welcoming place for all.”
You think your sweet little soon-to-be-spring-break ass will boycott the brand? I really fucking doubt it, dumb as oxen goyim.
Be my guest: Show me the humanity in these people’s faces? I just can’t find it, and I have been searching for decades, in high school, with my college professors, and so, I end up blank.k
Israeli MK Calls to Suspend Clinical Training for Palestinian Medical Students From West Bank, East Jerusalem
As Limor Son Har-Melech, who heads the Knesset Health Committee claims Palestinian students from what she calls ‘incubators of terrorism’ in the West Bank displace Israeli students in clinical training positions, the health ministry presents data showing core hospital departments are far below training capacity.

This is a fucking loony country: The United States Army has announced the end of a piece of uniform used only by women.
Until now, female drill sergeants in the U.S. Army had worn bush hats, with an upturned rim, while male drill sergeants wore flat-rimmed campaign hat.
The female bush hat, modeled after the Australian bush hat, was introduced in 1972, when the first female drill sergeants enrolled in the drill sergeant program at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Now, more than 40 years later, male and female drill sergeants will all wear the same iconic campaign hat. Surveys found roughly 70 percent of drill sergeants responding expressed a desire to switch from the bush hat to the campaign one, according to the U.S. Army website.
The research, published in the journal Molecular Neurodegeneration, combines human population data with laboratory experiments showing how the pesticide damages dopamine-producing brain cells, providing biological evidence for the link.
Nearly one million Americans live with Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological disorder that causes tremors, stiffness and difficulty with movement. While genetics plays a role, environmental factors like pesticide exposure are increasingly recognized as important contributors. Chlorpyrifos has been widely used in agriculture for decades.
Though its residential use was banned in 2001, and agricultural use was restricted in 2021, chlorpyrifos is still used on many crops in the US and widely used in other countries.

I’ve been sick for four days now, and haven’t had a chance to pull a piece together. So, no post today. In lieu of that, here’s a photo of a sandstone rock formation in a coastal wilderness. A place like this, with crawdads crawling in every pool, fish darting through every riffle, and the occasional weasel swimming from one bank to the other, is far more beautiful than my writing.
I’ve had my run-ins with FBI as a fucking newspaper journalist in El Paso, reporting on Casa Annunciacion, where ex-priest Ruben Garcia was there with volunteers and sometimes 40 refugees to assist them in gaining refugee status.
Max’s FBI mind fuck was in Seattle:
[A business card left for me in 2018, when the FBI attempted to contact me as part of a sweep targeting radical environmentalists. I declined to speak with them.]
Read the piece to readjust your scope of vision as COINTELPRO has been juiced up and amped up many ways, certainly in a major fascistic formula under the precepts of US Patriot Act I, II, III, with what we have now, with Trump Administration’s signing of the NSPM7.
Recently, the Trump Administration has supercharged these efforts by signing National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 which “directs a new national strategy to ‘disrupt’’ any individual or groups ‘that foment political violence,’ [with a focus on those who hold anti-capitalist and other left-wing views, such as supporting Luigi Mangione] including ‘before they result in violent political acts,’” by designating ANTIFA (not an organization, but a tactic, and one which is not always used strategically) as a domestic terror organization. The administration is also planning to designate ANTIFA as a foreign terrorist organization, a much more serious legal designation that experts predict will have severe negative consequences for free speech, dissent, and protest. As the Civil Liberties Defense Center notes:
“The Trump regime will likely use [these designations] to increase surveillance and criminalization of its adversaries (increasingly similar to Putin’s Russia, where political opponents are murdered in prisons). They may attempt to use it to target, threaten, and punish people who openly protest the regime’s policies and actions. When the FBI has carried out previous domestic terrorism investigations against neo-Nazi groups like the Base and Atomwaffen Division, US prosecutors used criminal enterprise laws like RICO. We’ve seen an uptick in the State’s use of RICO to target political expression — e.g. the Atlanta Cop City cases, where a judge recently tossed out the abusive and illegal use of RICO against activists. The regime may use this designation to place the military in US cities to enforce the will of the dictator, and justify it as ‘fighting antifa protests.’”
They conclude, “It’s critically important for Americans to continue to fight against fascism and to defend our imperfect democracy.”

I recommend you all get into a regular reading and listening of Max Wilbert. And, alas, since it is Gunboat Monroe Doctrine on crack, check out: Paul Cudenec and his insightful Substack, a new one, on the ZIM and Venezuela.
Really, the Jewish-Zionist Imperial Mafia and Venezuela!
Quoting Paul,
The USA’s New Year assault on Venezuela is one of the most naked acts of imperialist aggression we have seen in recent times.
There was not even a manufactured threat to America or “democracy” to justify it, only the laughable audacity of accusing kidnapped President Maduro of being involved in the drugs trafficking trade for which the CIA is so notorious.
Just as blatantly obvious, for increasing numbers of people, is that President Trump and his “special forces” are nothing but tools of the zio-imperialist mafia, ZIM.
Venezuela’s Vice President (and thus acting President) Delcy Rodríguez said as much herself when she declared: “Governments around the world are simply shocked that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is the victim and target of an attack of this nature, which undoubtedly has a Zionist tinge”.
Venezuela under Maduro, as under Chavez, was highly critical of Israel and Zionism and was claimed by Israel to be close to its bogeyman/enemy Iran.
Israeli Daily News on January 6 spoke of “open hostility between Caracas and Jerusalem”.
It explained: “Israeli and Western intelligence have long warned that Venezuela provided Iran with an economic and logistical lifeline, including oil cooperation, financial channels and sanctions evasion.
“There have also been serious concerns about Iranian and Hezbollah fundraising and intelligence activity in Latin America”.
And the cherry on the cake of corruption is that the show trial of Maduro in the US is set to be presided over by 92-year-old Zionist judge Alvin Hellerstein (pictured above), known for his controversial handling of the 9/11 legal aftermath.
I never thought my gay and lesbian friends as bad, i.e. queer … But this Semen Drip Trump and his White Man’s Malice, well, of course it’s queer bub all around the Minyan in DC.
Just one example of, well, a few hundreds of millions in the white psychosis klan:
Tony Dokoupil broke down in tears while reflecting on his favorite place in the world: Miami.
While visiting different cities as part of his “Live From America Tour,” the CBS Evening News anchor, 45, grew visibly emotional when he found himself in the Florida city where he spent many years as a child.
“It makes me emotional, it’s so funny,” Dikoupil told CBS Miami of his memories of the city on Jan. 6. “You only have one childhood, right?”
More? I AM a REAL newspaperman, of old, and anything coming out of this anchor’s anal cavity is queer, just queer-J.
CBS News anchor Tony Dokoupil ended the network’s evening newscast Tuesday with a “salute” to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The segment heaped praise on Rubio, the former Florida GOP senator, for taking on a growing number of titles and responsibilities in President Trump’s administration, of which Dokoupil said, “Whatever you think of his politics, you’ve got to admit it’s an impressive resume.”
QUEER: After the birth of the second child, Dokoupil announced that he had undergone a vasectomy, urging other men to consider it rather than putting the onus of birth control on their female partner. In 2014, Dokoupil wrote about his conversion to Judaism.
He realized he has a Jewish soul. That’s the essence of Jewish conversion: to convert you have to show you have a Jewish soul. It’s typical to approach a rabbi about conversion and be turned down 3 times.
You have to be a confirmed racist to be a Jew, or converted one? Now that’s queer.
More crocodile tears for murderers on the run. Life in Portugal Is Cheaper and Calmer. But Can Israelis Survive There?
I’m finishing up, “Bad Bad Girl” by Gish Jen. Crazy well written, and about Chinese mother and grandparents, but about the mother, the narrator focuses on. You get this new terminology? Neuroperverse Jews, well, queer in the head. And, ICE, well, under Gestapo Glosser, well, fucking queer, but queer in a murderous way.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed Wednesday morning that an ICE agent shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis.
The DHS alleged that a woman attempted to ram her car into ICE agents, and an agent shot and hit her. However, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said that narrative is false.
“This ‘it was done in self-defense’ is garbage,” Frey said at an afternoon press conference. “They are already trying to spin this as an action of self-defense. Having seen the video myself, that is bull****.”
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said the victim was a 37-year-old woman.
“There is nothing to indicate that she was the target of law enforcement activity,” O’Hara said.
After reaching out to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, a spokesperson confirmed it does have the jurisdiction to charge the agent if warranted. Use-of-force experts told KARE it will depend on whether prosecutors determine the officer’s actions were “unreasonable.”
Hmm, three alls for ICE and IDF/IOF, seems reasonable now that Japan is US nuclear ally.
Critical posts by a second disgusted relative of Stephen Miller have emerged as the White House’s deputy chief of staff digs his heels in on sending more troops into American cities. Among the condemning posts is one in which Miller’s uncle agreed with a Facebook friend who described the White House adviser as a “depraved fiend.” Miller, 40, was the subject of more than a dozen other critical posts on Facebook and X made by Dr. David S. Glosser, a retired neuropsychologist in Pennsylvania who is the brother of Miller’s mother. Glosser, 75, has previously accused his nephew of having an “obvious commitment to white nationalism” and of using tactics akin to those used by the Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.
And which fucking Democrat or Republican has even one ounce of heroism that the Chinese had and have, and this is what deravity looks like, CBS Propaganda-Hasbara!
The Indo-Pacific has grown more tense. Maritime boundaries are being challenged, alliances tested, and defence footprints recalibrated. In this shifting environment, a familiar name is reappearing on maps and in strategic briefings: Subic Bay.
Once central to American power projection during the Cold War, Subic had faded from military relevance. The U.S. pulled out in 1992. The shipyard fell silent. For a time, it was just a memory. But not anymore.
This is how queer those Nordic countries are, man neuroschizoid

Now that’s fucking pretty queer of all those leaders in those occupied “countries” that are not sovereign.
Generally, European leaders are as queer as a lactating bronco bull: It is noted that a number of Allies have increased their presence, activity and investment to ensure Arctic security and deter potential threats, while the Kingdom of Denmark, along with Greenland, remains a full-fledged member of NATO.
The European leaders emphasized that security in the Arctic can only be ensured on a collective basis – in close cooperation with NATO allies, in particular the United States, with strict adherence to the principles of the UN Charter, including respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders.

And, then, the most populated country in the world, hitting high on the queer-o-meter:
Police have raided the home of one of India’s leading environmental activists over claims his campaigning for a treaty to cut the use of fossil fuels was undermining the national interest.
Investigators from India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) claim Harjeet Singh and his wife, Jyoti Awasthi, co-founders of Satat Sampada (Nature Forever), were paid almost £500,000 to advocate for a fossil fuel non-proliferation treaty (FFNPT).
The ED is a law enforcement agency that operates under India’s ministry of finance and is responsible for enforcing economic laws and investigating financial crimes.
Singh and Aswati said in a statement that they were prevented from sharing details of the case for legal reasons, but added: “We categorically state that the allegations being reported are baseless, biased and misleading.”
Singh is a familiar figure at Cop climate negotiations, having worked for more than two decades with international NGOs and climate campaigns including ActionAid and the Climate Action Network.
Civil society organisations in India under Narendra Modi have faced severe pressures. Almost 17,000 licences to receive foreign funding have been suspended and a large number of civil society organisations have shut down.
According to an unnamed ED officer quoted by the Hindustan Times, the investigation into Singh began on the basis of intelligence received from Cop30, held in Belém, Brazil, last November. Other activists “whose climate campaigns may be inimical to India’s energy security” were also being investigated, another unnamed officer was quoted as saying.

Current Ownership Structure
Because it is a public corporation, “ownership” is divided among thousands of shareholders. The primary owners are large institutional investment firms:
The Vanguard Group: The largest shareholder, holding approximately 10.6% to 10.9% of common stock.
BlackRock, Inc.: Holds approximately 8.5% to 9.7% of the company.
JPMorgan Chase & Co.: Holds roughly 8.7% of shares.
Other Institutional Investors: Firms like Fidelity (FMR LLC) and State Street Corporation also hold significant stakes
While the family founded the company in 1919, they have not had controlling ownership for years. The Blackstone Group purchased the company in 2007 and took it public again in 2013, eventually selling its remaining stake by 2018.

No fucking 5 Queer Percent wealth (all wealth is stolen) Tax for many of the Jews of Mini Tel Avivi, i.e. Silicon Valley:
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang seems like he’snot losing sleep over California’s proposed wealth tax.
When Bloomberg TV’s Ed Ludlow asked Huang about California’s proposed 5% billionaire wealth tax in an interview that aired on Tuesday, Huang said that the potential levy hasn’t crossed his mind once and that he is “trying to build the future of AI.”
“I’ve got to tell you, I have not even thought about it once,” Huang told Ludlow. “We chose to live in Silicon Valley, and whatever taxes they would like to apply, so be it. I’m perfectly fine with it.”
“We work in Silicon Valley because that’s where the talent pool is,” Huang added.
Huang is the eighth-wealthiest person in the world according to Forbes, which estimated his net worth at approximately $162.6 billion as of January 6. Most of Huang’s wealth comes from his around 3% stake in Nvidia, which just showed off its new Vera Rubin chips at the Consumer Electronics Show.
More queer as a testicle on a Hillary Clinton, or even someone else’s near her.
The Cuba-born Harvard economist behind Trump’s immigration crackdown
Stephen Miller has been the public face of the Trump administration’s unprecedented immigration crackdown and deportation campaign, but a Cuba-born Harvard University economist who prefers a lower profile provided the intellectual underpinnings of President Donald Trump’s sweeping policy changes until he left the White House on Friday.
In the 1980s and 1990s, George Borjas pioneered the field of immigration economics. In seismic papers, Borjas’s research described the drawbacks of immigration, including his oft-cited, though much-disputed, findings that the arrival of lower-skilled immigrantshurtsAmerican workers who compete for jobs, especially poor people and African Americans.
But if this example reveals anything it is the glaring inadequacy of your “publication” metric that couldn’t capture the contributions of an incandescent genius who changed the trajectory of human history, making America the formidable giant in theoretical science. (Same with his Princeton colleague, the math genius Kurt Gödel, an Austrian immigrant.) Surely, if we are going to question anything, it is your instrument rather than the contributions of such immigrants? You say that the cardinal mistake of the pro-immigration camp is that it treats immigrants like widgets rather than people whose personal baggage negatively affects the institutions of their adopted country. But certainly such petty bean counting so devoid of qualitative dimensions is also guilty of this mistake?
Your most scathing observation is that immigration, not counting the fiscal costs on schools, welfare, and other government programs, produces a $50 billion economic surplus, but that this essentially benefits employers, the users of immigrants—not American workers, the competitors of immigrants. In essence, you state, this implies a “redistribution of half-a-trillion dollars from workers to firms.” But if that’s the case, then every search for efficiency—every groundbreaking innovation, every new trade deal, every revolutionary technology—that disrupts existing employment patterns is tantamount to the redistribution of wealth from labor to capital. If so, your quarrel isn’t with immigration but with the market economy.
Based on this downbeat assessment, you endorse a sweeping restrictionist agenda that opposes legalization of the undocumented population unless we’ve “regained control of the border,” and you advocate serious penalties on employers who hire undocumented workers and an E-Verify mandate on employers. Not surprisingly, you don’t entertain an end to the current regime of labor prohibitionism against low-skilled workers by reviving the Bracero guest worker program with Mexico, the only effective way of stanching the future flow of illegal immigrants. And far from expanding the visa quotas for high-skilled workers, despite industry pleading, you want to jack up the fees for H-1Bs.
To your credit, you openly acknowledge that a “massive new government” will be required to “supervise a massive wealth redistribution”—and, I might add, disrupt the natural pattern of human mobility that would emerge if Americans and foreigners were left relatively unfettered to associate with each other according to their preferences.
To put my ideological commitments on the table, in my mind such draconian curbs on individual liberty are justified only when there are worse harms to be mitigated. But even if all the harms you list were correct, that won’t add up to the level of those that an overweening government might cause to get the “correct” distribution of income. So my question to you is: What role, if any, does the need to protect individual liberty, mobility rights, and freedom of association play in your thinking on immigration policy? — Shikha Dalmiaa
Ahh, the 3 All’s today: Japan’s nuclear watchdog said Wednesday it is scrapping the safety screening for two reactors at the Hamaoka nuclear power plant in central Japan after the plant’s operator was found to have fabricated data about earthquake risks, in a setback to Japan’s attempts to accelerate reactor restarts to boost nuclear energy use.
Chubu Electric Power Co. had applied for safety screening to resume operations at the No. 3 and 4 reactors at the Hamaoka nuclear power plant in 2014 and 2015. Two other reactors at the plant are being decommissioned, and a fifth is idle.

Enough already of queer takes and queerer people and their neuroparanoid and neuroperverse lives.
