In anticipation of the new school year, language teachers in Hillsborough County schools have been instructed that they will not be allowed to read in class more than certain excerpts from plays such as “Hamlet” and “Romeo and Juliet.”

Those fragments will be chosen for not having sexual or racial content. In this way, the complete reading of these great works of universal literature is reserved exclusively for outside of school in the event that students have access to Shakespeare’s books.

Farmers are under threat, but not from foreign land-buyers

By Fran Miller

Members of Congress, presidential candidates and state legislatures have been raising the alarm about Chinese and other foreign investment in American farmland. They claim it may destabilize our food system and undermine national security.

This uproar is directing attention away from the real crisis of ownership facing American farmers — land grabs by corporations based inside the United States.

Foreign investors, most of them Canadians, own only about 3 percent of our nation’s privately owned agricultural land. Chinese investors own just a tiny fraction of that. Meanwhile, existing regulations do nothing to stop multinational corporations and investors based in the U.S. from buying up farmland. To protect America’s food and farms, Congress should be focusing its attention closer to home

Food, and this article fails to mention Agent Orange used to kill rice crops:

Who controls the food supply controls the people..." ~ Henry Kissinger [944X551] : r/QuotesPorn

In the end, the military campaign was called Operation Ranch Hand, but it originally went by a more appropriately hellish appellation: Operation Hades. As part of this Vietnam War effort, from 1961 to 1971, the United States sprayed over 73 million liters of chemical agents on the country to strip away the vegetation that provided cover for Vietcong troops in “enemy territory.”

Using a variety of defoliants, the U.S. military also intentionally targeted cultivated land, destroying crops and disrupting rice production and distribution by the largely communist National Liberation Front, a party devoted to reunification of North and South Vietnam.

Some 45 million liters of the poisoned spray was Agent Orange, which contains the toxic compound dioxin. It has unleashed in Vietnam a slow-onset disaster whose devastating economic, health and ecological impacts that are still being felt today.

This is one of the greatest legacies of the country’s 20-year war, but is yet to be honestly confronted. Even Ken Burns and Lynn Novick seem to gloss over this contentious issue, both in their supposedly exhaustive “Vietnam War” documentary series and in subsequent interviews about the horrors of Vietnam. (Source = Agent Orange, exposed: How U.S. chemical warfare in Vietnam unleashed a slow-moving disaster)

Never FUCKING again? Bullshit Country of Terror, this Bioweapons son of a bitch country, taking all of it out of the history books and literature classes, and, until we have the stupid people, Homo Consumopethicus.

The destruction of the South Vietnamese rice (Oryza sativa L) crop using an arsenic-based herbicide known as Agent Blue during the American Vietnam War (1965-1972) was not a secret; however, it received little media attention in the United States. Republic of Vietnam and United States (U.S.) militaries began destroying food crops (rice) in November of 1962 primarily via aerial applications in the Mekong Delta and Central Highlands of South Vietnam.

Spraying of Agent Blue on 100,000 ha of mangrove forests and about 300,000 ha of rice paddies just before rice harvest time resulted in the destruction of the standing crop and rendered the land contaminated with arsenic (As).

Six Rainbow herbicides, commonly called Agent Orange, Agent Green, Agent Pink, Agent Purple, Agent White, and Agent Blue, were sprayed on wetlands, rice paddies, forests, mangroves, bamboo and military base perimeter fences to defoliate jungle vegetation, reveal guerilla hiding places and destroy the food supply of enemy troops. South Vietnamese farmers, U.S. and Republic of Vietnam military personnel, and communist insurgents were exposed to these herbicides with immediate and longer term impacts on personal health, civilian household food security and population-wide famine.

Agent Blue (cacodylic acid, C2H2AsO2,) was the most effective of all the Rainbow herbicides in killing rice and grasses. Manufacturing of cacodylic acid began in the late 1950s in the U.S. at the Ansul Company chemical plant in Marinette, Wisconsin and Menominee, Michigan. During the Vietnam War, ocean going ships were loaded with 208-liter Agent Blue barrels and shipped via the St. Lawrence Seaway to the coast of South Vietnam. Arsenic (As) is a naturally occurring element that is found throughout SE Asia deltas including the Mekong Delta.

Today arsenic contaminated rice and groundwater are growing concerns as neither naturally occurring arsenic nor anthropic arsenic have a half-life and cannot be destroyed. Anthropic arsenic has remained in the Mekong Delta environment for the last 60 years and added to persistent As contamination in water supplies, sediments and soils. Water soluble arsenic primarily leaches into the soil root zone and the groundwater or is carried by floodwater into adjacent waterways or volatilized under anaerobic rice paddy conditions as gaseous arsine. The health of 15 million Vietnamese people living in the Mekong Delta is at risk from the combination of manufactured and natural As in drinking water and food supply. The As in the contaminated rice paddy soil, sediment and water is up taken by fish, shrimp or by crop vegetation and trace amounts can end up in the food supply (rice grain) or be bioaccumulated by the fish, shrimp and birds which when eaten were bioaccumulated in the Vietnamese people. It is urgent that elevated As concentrations in water supplies and agricultural products be identified and mitigated through better run-off control and groundwater management; improved rice genetics and alternate crop selections; shifts in crop management associated with tillage, fertilization and phosphorus use; and systematic monitoring of food and drinking water. SEVENTY-FIFTH anniversary of bombing civilians.

| Atomic bombing of Japan was not necessary to end WWII | MR Online

Easy listening:

The U.S. government website acknowledged that the Truman administration’s decision to nuke Japan was politically motivated, writing:

After President Harry S. Truman received word of the success of the Trinity test, his need for the help of the Soviet Union in the war against Japan was greatly diminished. The Soviet leader, Joseph Stalin, had promised to join the war against Japan by August 15th. Truman and his advisors now were not sure they wanted this help. If use of the atomic bomb made victory possible without an invasion, then accepting Soviet help would only invite them into the discussions regarding the postwar fate of Japan.

Other historians argue that Japan would have surrendered even without the use of the atomic bomb and that in fact Truman and his advisors used the bomb only in an effort to intimidate the Soviet Union.

Truman hoped to avoid having to “share” the administration of Japan with the Soviet Union.

And, here, the Agent Blue Flag of the Middle East, this dirty, rotten, murderous mentality — and it is Jewish, and it is Zionist, and it is Nakba-Prone Elites.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, said on 8 August in a message addressed to both Hezbollah and the Lebanese government, that Tel Aviv is prepared to strike “every meter” of the country.

“Do not make a mistake, we do not want war, but we are ready to defend our citizens, our soldiers, and our sovereignty,” the minister said.

“We will not hesitate to employ all of our power and to attack every meter of Hezbollah and of Lebanon … and return Lebanon to the stone age,” he added.

But, then, those Yes-We-Own-Hollywood producers leave it out, man:

In July 2023, Hollywood released a blockbuster film, “Oppenheimer”, by award-winning director Christopher Nolan. The movie was a huge commercial success, but was also criticized for its politics.

The film humanized the eponymous physicist who directed the Manhattan Project’s Los Alamos laboratory, J. Robert Oppenheimer, who helped create the atomic bomb.

Later in life, Oppenheimer came to regret the role he played in developing the weapon, and he campaigned against nuclear proliferation.

Ironically, Oppenheimer also became a victim of the U.S. government’s McCarthyism, and was persecuted for his links to left-wing groups.

But while the movie was celebrated for depicting Oppenheimer’s complex internal struggles, it was accused of whitewashing the brutality of the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The 200,000 Japanese civilians who lost their lives in these totally unnecessary attacks were eerily absent from the film.

What is becoming clear is that the holy grail of the imperialist bioweapons programme is producing diseases that will affect certain genotypes (Russian or Chinese in particular) more than others.]

Western mainstream media reporting of chemical, biological and genetic experimentation, ‘biosecurity’ and bioweapons has become so integral to the information war that it has become hard to disentangle fact from fiction, and truth from psychological operation, even for those with sound political instincts and a healthy scepticism.

Yet the war in Ukraine is shedding some remarkable light on the global network of dual-use biological laboratories that the US state, and its military-medical research-pharmaceutical axis, has been building and operating.

When the many sources of evidence are collated – ranging from data found on Hunter Biden’s laptop to attacks on Latin-American crops, livestock, economies and national leaders, to the US-Ukrainian labs that have fallen into Russian hands during its special military operation – the systematic nature and remarkably sinister aims of the US biological programme are strikingly revealed. See how the elites, the chosen people of the “sciences” and the finances and rhetoric and marketing and media leave out the most fucking important aspects of life cycle assessment?

What is a Life Cycle Assessment? | Towards Data Science

Did you get the answer to my question? Here, that shit show, International Monetary Fund — and it too leaves out the answer:

Negative and positive externalities

In the case of pollution—the traditional example of a negative externality—a polluter makes decisions based only on the direct cost of and profit opportunity from production and does not consider the indirect costs to those harmed by the pollution. The indirect costs include decreased quality of life, say in the case of a home owner near a smokestack; higher health care costs; and forgone production opportunities, for example, when pollution harms activities such as tourism. Since the indirect costs are not borne by the producer, and therefore not passed on to the end user of the goods produced by the polluter, the social or total costs of production are larger than the private costs.

There are also positive externalities, and here the issue is the difference between private and social gains. For example, research and development (R&D) activities are widely considered to have positive effects beyond those enjoyed by the producer that funded the R&D—normally, the company that pays for the research. This is because R&D adds to the general body of knowledge, which contributes to other discoveries and developments. However, the private returns of a firm selling products based on its own R&D typically do not include the returns of others who benefited indirectly. With positive externalities, private returns are smaller than social returns.

When there are differences between private and social costs or private and social returns, the main problem is that market outcomes may not be efficient. To promote the well-being of all members of society, social returns should be maximized and social costs minimized. This implies that all costs and benefits need to be internalized by households and firms making buying and production decisions. Otherwise, market outcomes involve underproduction of goods or services that entail positive externalities or overproduction in the case of negative externalities. Overproduction or underproduction reflects less-than-optimal market outcomes in terms of a society’s overall condition (what economists call the “welfare perspective”).

Consider again the example of pollution. Social costs grow with the level of pollution, which increases in tandem with production levels, so goods with negative externalities are overproduced when only private costs are considered in decisions and not costs incurred by others. To minimize social costs would lead to lower production levels. Similarly, from a societal perspective, maximization of private instead of social returns leads to underproduction of the good or service with positive externalities.

Again, the fuckers treating the subject as if we are fourth graders:

And the costs of these scientific breakthroughs?

Shit, just looking at one news story, Niger, and the fact it is a young young country, and the French and other thieves, like USA, Israel, whomever, are stealing from the poor, like, something around 40 percent of the people in Niger get $1.93 a day. One Dollar and ninety-three cents per FUCKING Day. One hundred and ninety three cents PER fucking DAY.

Child labor is big, and illiteracy is big time.

How are those lovely electricity generators in France working out, uh? The answer to the question about is —

  • the cost of modernity is total exploitation and slavery of a large chunk of the human species
  • the cost of doing business in the Chat GPT and Zoom and remote work and digital campus is environmental hell, and, well, also,
  • fragmentation of the mind, spirit, heart, head, thought process
  • atomization of humanity,
  • death of a community ethos and mutual aid
  • transhumanism is the agenda
  • internet of bodies, minds, souls, cells, nanothings is the agenda

Without those raw materials and those raw useless eaters, the system gets a little clogged.

Ahh, it’s all about PROFITS — COGS:

Chemical substitution in a product is expected to have an economic impact, since most supply chains have been optimized to minimize cost. Thus, the most likely economic impact of a chemical substitution will be an increase in the cost of materials or retooling of manufacturing equipment to accommodate the alternative. The cost of materials is one of several factors contributing to the cost of a product (cost of goods sold, or COGS). Direct labor costs, direct energy costs, equipment costs, and other direct costs also contribute to the total cost. Any price increase in COGS for the final product will be the cost differential between the cost of the alternative and the cost of the chemical of concern. This is an important consideration because the economic viability of a product is typically measured in margin percent, the price minus the COGS divided by the price, times 100. Thus, if an ingredient represents 10% of the cost of a product and an alternative costs double that amount, the product cost will increase by 10%; it will not double.

Other production costs, such as increased processing time and energy, may also factor into the economics of the substitution. For example, a less reactive monomer may have a longer cure time in a reactor. This would reduce the productivity of the reactor (less product per hour) and increase the product cost. However, these costs can only be known after prototype products are made and evaluated, which is beyond the scope of this committee’s charge.

Taylorism, anyone? The efficiency movement was a major movement in the United States, Britain and other industrial nations in the early 20th century that sought to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the economy and society, and to develop and implement best practices. The concept covered mechanical, economic, social, and personal improvement. The quest for efficiency promised effective, dynamic management rewarded by growth.

As a result of the influence of an early proponent, it is more often known as Taylorism.

Oh, Smeaton, what would he say about, hmm, clouds and data centers and huge servers and the electricity needed for a cat video?

And so, don’t believe the data center PR spinners. Much more energy needed for all the devices, all the satellites, the banking and surveillance tools, all of the data uploaded to WATCH us, to MARKET us, to EXPLOIT us, to MANGAGE us, to DESTROY us.

Data centres processing and storing data from online activities, such as sending emails and streaming videos, already account for about 1% of global electricity use, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).

That’s about the same amount of electricity that Australia consumes in a year.

But as societies become more digitalised, computing is expected to account for up to 8% of the world’s total power demand by 2030, according to some estimates, raising fears this could lead to the burning of more fossil fuels.

“If we don’t take into account the carbon footprint, we are going to have a climate change nightmare coming from information technology,” said Babak Falsafi, a professor of computer and communication science at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne. (How cat videos could cause a ‘climate change nightmare’)

And the dirty Gates and Microsofts and Dells and HPs and all of them, they own the media, and so these stories pop up left and right ALL the time: we are at fault. Next-Gen Gaming Is an Environmental Nightmare: Console waste plus energy-hungry cloud gaming equals the worst of both worlds for sustainability.

Forget about these effing fake sustainability freaks who looke at the three s’s — environment, economic and equity. Again, everything is framed for a fourth grader.

Even the graphic is for a first grader:

Old gaming electronics in a landfill

How much pollution and death and future death and future injuries and concurrent injuries and maiming and environmental hell and genetic shit does the US military complex produce? Gaming?

Right now, US gaming platforms represent 34 terawatt-hours a year in energy usage—more than the entire state of West Virginia—with associated carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to over 5 million cars. And it’s only going to get worse. “Total emissions are going up,” says Gary Cook, global climate campaigns director for Stand.Earth, an environmental nonprofit founded to challenge corporations’ climate practices. “There’s a real reckoning that needs to happen.”

Read the cloud news, those industry honchos and techies looking at the next frontier: The Eight Trends That Will Shape the Data Center Industry in 2023/ Jan. 5, 2023

What lies ahead for the data center industry in 2023? It will be a year of dueling cross currents that could constrain or accelerate business activity in the sector. Here are the trends we believe will matter the most.

A row of high-density AI hardware within the Colovore data center in Santa Clara, Calif.

1. Supply and Demand Meets Constraints and Delays

2. Generative AI Tools Emerge as Game Changers

3. The Data Center Industry Confronts its PR Problems

There’s a growing narrative that data centers are bad neighbors and devour vital community resources like water and electricity. As we predicted in last year’s forecast, community resistance to data center development is a growing challenge in some of the most important data center markets. In Prince William County in Virginia, the approval of a huge data center development become the dominant political issue and prompted a 14-hour supervisors meeting to allow 300 residents to share comments.

As the negative headlines piled up, resistance to data centers expanded into growth markets with no history of previous data center development. In these cases, residents are seeking to reject new cloud infrastructure projects based on media reports about controversies in other regions.

This could become a significant business problem for data center builders as major markets face constraints on the availability of land and utility power.

An example: When Planning Officials in Warrenton, Virginia met in November to consider an application for an Amazon Web Services data center, 58 residents spoke against the project, with some waiting hours in the rain for their chance to be heard. A number of speakers cited concerns about noise, specifically mentioning media coverage of noisy data centers in Chandler, Arizona. The Commission voted to pause the application indefinitely to seek more information from AWS to address residents’ concerns.

Warrenton, a town of about 10,000 in Fauquier County, is a potential expansion market for the massive data center cluster in Northern Virginia. These type of sites are likely to play an important role in the future of the data center market.

The data center industry has always preferred to focus on working behind the scenes to gain the backing of local officials, while keeping a low profile in any public controversies about their sites. It remains to be seen whether this is a tenable strategy going forward, as data center development becomes a political hot potato. Upcoming elections in Prince William County may indicate whether local politicians will pay a price for supporting data center development.

One thing is certain: the data center industry doesn’t want the headlines and precedents from Prince William County to guide its future. Digital infrastructure has become essential to the global economy, and data centers can be powerful agents for positive change in the climate transition. But not if nobody wants them in their neighborhood.

The Staggering Ecological Impacts of Computation and the Cloud

Anthropologist Steven Gonzalez Monserrate draws on five years of research and ethnographic fieldwork in server farms to illustrate some of the diverse environmental impacts of data storage.

The Cloud is not only material, but is also an ecological force. Source image: Taylor Vick, via Unsplash

Last year, MIT’s Schwarzman College of Computing launched a specially commissioned series that aims to address the opportunities and challenges of the computing age. The MIT Case Studies in Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing (SERC) series features peer-reviewed, freely available cases by topic-area experts that introduce readers to a range of questions about computing, data, and society. Some cases focus closely on particular technologies, others on trends across technological platforms. Still others examine social, historical, philosophical, legal, and cultural facets that are essential for thinking critically about present-day efforts in computing and data sciences and their roles in the wider world.

The following article, excerpted from anthropologist Steven Gonzalez Monserrate’s case study “The Cloud Is Material: On the Environmental Impacts of Computation and Data Storage,” takes us into the blinking corridors of data centers that make digital industry possible and makes clear the environmental costs of ubiquitous computing in modern life.

Since the year 2007, when the first smartphone debuted on the marketplace, over seven billion devices of the sort have since been manufactured. Their lifespans average less than two years, a consequence of designed obsolescence and a thirst to profit from flashy new features and capabilities. Meanwhile, the material and political conditions of their manufacture, and the resources required for their production, remain obscured. Under grueling conditions, miners tirelessly plumb the earth for the rare metals required to make information and communications technology (ICT) devices. Then, in vast factories like Foxconn located in the Global South, where labor can be procured cheaply and legal protections for workers are scant, smartphones are assembled and shipped out to consumers, only to be discarded in a matter of months, to end up in e-waste graveyards like those of Agbogbloshie, Ghana. These metals, many of which are toxic and contain radioactive elements, take millennia to decay. The refuse of the digital is ecologically transformative.

… everything about Yankee Doodle Dandy and that Grand Old Stars & Bars is as vapid and corrupt and childish but very dangerous as any of the Top Ten Fascist Regimes

Disney wins at yet another level. It is not only interested in erasing the real by turning it into a three-dimensional virtual image with no depth, but it also seeks to erase time by synchronizing all the periods, all the cultures, in a single traveling motion, by juxtaposing them in a single scenario. Thus, it marks the beginning of real, punctual and unidimensional time, which is also without depth. No present, no past, no future, but an immediate synchronism of all the places and all the periods in a single atemporal virtuality. Lapse or collapse of time: that’s properly speaking what the fourth dimension [la quatrieme dimension] is about. It is the dimension of the virtual, of real time; a dimension which, far from adding to the others, erases them all. And so it has been said that, in a century or in a millennium, gladiator movies will be watched as if they were authentic Roman movies, dating back to the era of the Roman empire, as real documentaries on Ancient Rome; that in the John Paul Getty Museum in Malibu, a pastiche of a Pompeian villa, will be confused, in an anachronistic manner, with a villa of the third century B.C. (including the pieces inside from Rembrandt, Fra Angelico, everything confused in a single crush of time); that the celebration of the French Revolution in Los Angeles in 1989 will retrospectively be confused with the real revolutionary event. Disney realizes de facto such an atemporal utopia by producing all the events, past or future, on simultaneous screens, and by inexorably mixing all the sequences as they would or will appear to a different civilization than ours. But it is already ours. It is more and more difficult for us to imagine the real, History, the depth of time, or three-dimensional space, just as before it was difficult, from our real world perspective, to imagine a virtual universe or the fourth dimension [la quatrieme dimension].

—Baudrillard, Jean. “Disneyworld Company.” Liberation, March 4, 1996.

In the field of sociology, the term “Disneyfication” describes the commercial transformation of things (e.g. entertainment) or environments into something simplified, controlled, and ‘safe’—reminiscent of the Walt Disney brand (such as its media, parks, etc.).

The term broadly describes the process of stripping a real place or thing of its original character and representing it in a sanitized format where references to anything negative or inconvenient are removed, and the facts are simplified with the intent of rendering the subject more pleasant and easily grasped. In the case of physical places, this involves replacing the real with an idealized, tourist-friendly veneer—resembling the “Main Street, U.S.A.” attractions at Disney theme parks. Based on rapid Western-style globalization and consumerist lifestyles, the term Disneyfication is mostly used derogatorily to imply the social and cultural homogenization of things. In other words, according to

The Disneyization of Society, “to Disneyfy means to translate or transform an object into something superficial and even simplistic.”

The term can also be used to describe the internationalization of American mass culture; the notion of entertainment that is bigger, faster, and better but with worldwide, Americanized uniformity. More specifically, Disneyfication to be associated with a statement about the cultural products of the Disney company itself, denoting the general process of rendering material (a fairy tale, novel, historical event) into a standardized format that is recognizable as being a product of the Walt Disney Company according to Bryman. (source)

And, well, Disneyfication is part of a vast mental PSYOPS, all about Norman Rockewellian strangeness and the incredible weight of propaganda in every corner in the fucking USA, to the point of 180 degree lies, fabrications, and entire systems that can make even the individual responsible for his or her city in ruins, crumbling, even that broken sidewalk and giant pothole, “those are my problems, and it was I that created them.”

Go to a fucking doctor, especially as a Black Woman, and see, feel, hear, touch and taste the motherfucking MDs treating you not just like Disneyfied children, but children with DD.

So collectively, the USA society — even (especially) in the chambers of power, in the higher education gulags — is a developmentally disabled and misdeveloped society that is so dangerous, we have fabrication at the nuclear level.

Here is the transcript of Truman’s radio address pertaining to the atomic bomb (emphasis added):

The world will note that the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, a military base. That was because we wished in this first attack to avoid, insofar as possible, the killing of civilians. But that attack is only a warning of things to come. If Japan does not surrender, bombs will have to be dropped on her war industries and, unfortunately, thousands of civilian lives will be lost. I urge Japanese civilians to leave industrial cities immediately, and save themselves from destruction.

The dangers of nuclear war are not an object of debate and analysis by the mainstream media.

Public opinion is carefully misled. ” All options on the table”.  Nuclear weapons are portrayed as peace-making bombs.

Did you know that tactical nuclear weapons or so-called mininukes with an explosive capacity between one third and six times a Hiroshima bomb are considered, according to scientific opinion, on contract to the Pentagon as “harmless to the surrounding civilian population because the explosion is underground”.

It’s a lie. (source)

And why the allusion to Disneyfication? Infantilization? Walmartization? Now here we go, yet another treaty broken with First Nations:

Known as the Trail of Tears, the forced removal of Native Americans to Oklahoma was one of the most inhumane policy implementations in American history, but it was not an isolated incident.

Nearly 16,000 members of the Cherokee Nation were forced, under armed guard in 1831, to leave their native homeland in the southeastern part of the United States and trek more than 1,000 miles to what would eventually become the state of Oklahoma.

This story was reported by Gaylord News, a Washington reporting project of the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma. This series titled “Exiled to Indian Country” details the stories of how each of Oklahoma’s 39 tribes wound up in the state.

Approximately 4,000 Cherokees died along the way, never making it to the land designated by the U.S. government as Indian Territory.

Removal of the Choctaw Nation commenced even earlier in 1830. Like the Cherokees, they left behind homes and a way of life developed over generations to start over in an alien environment on the edge of the prairie.

But the Cherokee and Choctaw nations are only two of the tribes with a removal story. There are 39 tribes in Oklahoma, five native to the state’s boundaries, that have stories to be told — each with its own Trail of Tears.

Trail of Tears

It doesn’t matter to the dirty Blinken and Nuland and Kagan and Yellen and Garland and the other Izio-ra-hell First monsters. Remove by force and with bullets, the Palestinians, or how about that Andy, Boy, and his Americanos?

Jackson believed that moving the tribes west of the Mississippi River was essential to national security, and he had no qualms about violating existing treaties, according to Jackson biographer Jon Meacham.

“The southern states were anxious for more land, especially to grow cotton, and the Creek, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw and Seminole tribes held rich acreage — great chunks of which would become modern-day Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee,” Meacham wrote.

Appeals from the tribes that they held the land by treaty fell on deaf ears in Washington. Jackson simply did not believe the tribes had title to the land, and he would not tolerate competing sovereignties in the United States.

Opponents of the Indian Removal Act said the policy was immoral and illegal, but it was approved in 1830 by a wide margin in the U.S. Senate.

So, August 9, Nagasaki murders, is approaching, but the world is captivated by Trump and Hunter and Cluster Bombs and that Dirty Oppenheimer and the dirty Barbie, and alas, this is what Disneyfication and Infantilization does to the world while a pig like Anderson Vanderbilt CIA-Cooper can’t even sit and talk with amazing philosopher and thinker and activist and now presidential runner, Cornel West.

The project is already attracting controversy, however, for a lack of engagement with the Cherokee Nation (the proposed development site is located on the Cherokee Reservation in Craig County, Oklahoma).

“Cherokee government officials weren’t at the announcement event. They say they weren’t invited until the day before the event,” according to an article by Molly Young for the Oklahoman. “Tribal leaders said they met with developers about a year ago, when they were filled in about a vision for a theme park near Vinita. They said they didn’t hear anything else until this week when the proposal was revealed to widespread fanfare.” (source)

He sold the company in 2006 for $615 million, setting off a tax battle with his home state. At the time, NPC operated 790 Pizza Hut stores in the United States.

So, soon, coming to a Blue State near you, the We Can Survive a Nuclear War Theme Park:

Now, the Bulletin of Atmoic Scientists leave out the reality that Russia wants NOTHING to do with nuclear way, strategic weapons and big bang MOABs. Here’s your fucking Madman Morman:

Theme park with a three story life like statue of Romney where you get to drive a golf cart through his anus.

Senator Mitt Romney has an op-ed in the New York Times arguing that we must prepare for Vladimir Putin to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Romney says that we should take Russia’s nuclear threats seriously—Russian TV has even been broadcasting speculative scenarios showing how Putin could wipe out the British Isles—and prepare a “response.”

Romney does not spend much time considering whether U.S. actions could make Russian use of nuclear weapons more or less likely. He argues that Vladimir Putin might become “cornered and delusional” as Russia continues to lose the war, and admits that this could lead Russia to turn, in desperation, to the use of nukes. But for Romney, this is not an argument for adjusting U.S. conduct in order to reduce the risk that Putin will take such an insane step. The key paragraph of the op-ed reads as follows:

Some will conclude that to avoid provoking Russia—and thus avoid the prospect of a possible Russian nuclear strike—we should pre-emptively restrain Ukraine from routing the Russian military. We could limit the weapons we send, hold back on intelligence and pressure President Volodymyr Zelensky to settle. I disagree; free nations must continue to support Ukrainians’ brave and necessary defense of their country. Failing to continue to support Ukraine would be like paying the cannibal to eat us last. If Mr. Putin, or any other nuclear power, can invade and subjugate with near impunity, then Ukraine would be only the first of such conquests. Inevitably, our friends and allies would be devoured by brazen, authoritarian nuclear powers, the implications of which would drastically alter the world order.

This is a very useful example of a dangerous, stupid kind of logic that we can expect to hear more and more. It is important to understand exactly why it is so stupid and dangerous. (source)

Again, Russia lost 27 million people defeating the Nazi’s. USA? 425,000.

Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev once said that “a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought,”

and five major nuclear weapon states, including the United States, repeated this statement earlier this year. Yet many in the US defense establishment—the military, government, think tanks, and industry—promote the perception that a nuclear war can be won and fought. Moreover, they do so in a voice that is influential, respected, well-funded, and treated with deference. The US defense leadership’s methodical messaging to its workforce helps shape the views of this massive, multi-sector constituency that includes advocates, future leaders, and decision makers. It advances a view of nuclear weapon policies that intensifies and accelerates the new nuclear arms race forming between the United States, China, and Russia.

Perhaps these beliefs are unsurprising, coming as they are from the defense leaders of a global superpower. But given humankind’s stake in the information that US service members receive regarding their roles in the nuclear weapons complex, US defense leadership messaging warrants a spotlight. This is especially necessary, given the current crisis in Ukraine.

The 23-chapter Guide to Nuclear Deterrence in the Age of Great Power Competition provides an excellent and representative case study for examining this critical messaging. This guide is published by the Louisiana Tech Research Institute, which provides support for the US Air Force Global Strike Command. It is written by nuclear arms experts for the approximately 30,000 members of the US Air Force Global Strike Command and the “700,000 total force airmen who engage in the profession of arms.” All of the authors have direct or indirect connections with the nuclear weapons complex or associated think tanks, and several of the authors have held senior positions with the Air Force Global Strike Command, US Strategic Command, and other national security agencies in the US government. The guide’s messaging is comprehensive but dangerously skewed.

It is high time for the American public to recognize that our only hope for a survivable future is one where arms control and nuclear disarmament once again serve as the cornerstone of a U.S.-Russian relationship, and that the shortest possible path toward achieving that objective is for Russia to win its war against Ukraine.

And for those politicians in the U.S. and Europe who have invested their political futures on the suicidal mission of feeding Ukraine’s anti-Russian fantasies?

Khren Im. (Source — Scheer Report, Ritter: When Vladimir Putin was recently asked about the potential use of nuclear weapons in the context of Ukraine, an understanding of back-alley Russian slang was needed to understand his response.

“For Russia, this is possible if a threat is created to our territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty, the existence of the Russian state. Nuclear weapons are created in order to ensure our security in the broadest sense of the word and the existence of the Russian state.”

Putin’s answer reflected long-standing Russian nuclear doctrine, which postulates the use of nuclear weapons in the case of an existential threat, nuclear or otherwise, to the survival of Russia.

Putin then sought to put the audience at ease.

“But we, firstly, do not have such a need,” Putin noted, “and secondly, the very factor of reasoning on this topic already lowers the possibility of lowering the threshold for the use of weapons. This is the first part.”

What came next was classic Putin.

“The second is that we have more such weapons [i.e., tactical nuclear weapons] than the NATO countries. They know about it and all the time they persuade us to start talks on reductions.”

Fuck this country, then and now:

A photo collage of various Chinese Americans in United States throughout history.

Gum Shan. Gold Mountain. That was what the people in Guangdong Province called the faraway land where the native population had red hair and blue eyes, and it was rumored that gold nuggets could be plucked from the ground. According to an account in the San Francisco Chronicle, a merchant visiting from Canton, the provincial capital—likely soon after the discovery of gold at Sutter Creek, in 1848—wrote to a friend back home about the riches that he had found in the mountains of California. The friend told others and set off across the Pacific Ocean himself. Whether from the merchant’s letter, or from ships arriving in Hong Kong, news of California’s gold rush swept through southern China.

Men began scraping together funds, often using their family’s land as collateral for loans, and crowding aboard vessels that took as long as three months to reach America. They eventually arrived in the thousands. Some came in search of gold; others were attracted by the lucrative wages that they could earn working for the railroad companies laying down tracks to join the Eastern and Western halves of the United States; still others worked in factories making cigars, slippers, and woollens, or found other opportunities in the American West.

They were mostly peasants, often travelling in large groups from the same village. They wore the traditional male hair style of the Qing dynasty, shaved pate in the front and a braid down to the waist in the back. They were escaping a homeland beset by violent rebellions and economic privation. They came seeking the vast, open spaces of the American frontier—where, they believed, freedom and opportunity awaited.

As the Chinese presence grew, however, it began to stir the anxieties of white Americans. Violence, often shocking in its brutality, followed. America, in the middle of the nineteenth century, was engaged in an epic struggle over race. The Civil War, by the latest estimates, left three-quarters of a million dead. In the turbulent years of Reconstruction that followed, at least two thousand Black people were lynched. Largely forgotten in this defining period of American history, however, is the virulent racism that Chinese immigrants endured on the other side of the country. According to “The Chinese Must Go” (2018), a detailed examination by Beth Lew-Williams, a professor of history at Princeton, in the mid eighteen-eighties, during probably the peak of vigilantism, at least a hundred and sixty-eight communities forced their Chinese residents to leave. In one particularly horrific episode, in 1885, white miners in Rock Springs, in the Wyoming Territory, massacred at least twenty-eight Chinese miners and drove out several hundred others. (New Yorker, 2021)

Hunting, deforestation, and invasive species. The way of the dodo, please, for Americanos, and U-Inbred-Kingdomers, EuroTrashLandians, Isra-Hellions?

Dodos (Raphus cucullatus) were endemic to Mauritius, which is an island in the Indian Ocean just 500 miles east of Madagascar. The island of Mauritius has an area of just 720 square miles and has various habitats — including forests, swamps, lagoons, mangroves, and rivers. Although it’s not known for certain, it is believed that dodos largely inhabited forests and ate a mixture of nuts, fruit, seeds, and roots. Additionally, they may have been able to use their large, powerful beak to break open coconuts.

Portuguese sailors first discovered these fascinating birds in the early 1500s. However, the first documented mention of them was not until 1598, when Dutch explorers spotted them. The last sighting of a dodo was in 1662 by Volkert Evertsz, a Dutch sailor who was shipwrecked on the island. Although it likely took a few more years for the dodos to die out completely, it is estimated that they were completely extinct by the 1690s.

The atomic bombing of Hiroshima
Declining Support in Both the U.S. and Japan for America's Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Japanese officials have marked the 78th anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima without naming the US as the country responsible. Despite Washington carrying out the only two offensive uses of nuclear weapons in history, they chose instead to condemn Russia for its supposed “nuclear threat.”

“Japan, as the only nation to have suffered atomic bombings in war, will continue efforts towards a nuclear-free world,” Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said in a speech on Sunday. The path to such a world is becoming “increasingly difficult because of deepening divisions in the international community over nuclear disarmament and Russia’s nuclear threat,” he added.

While maintaining that the “devastation brought to Hiroshima and Nagasaki by nuclear weapons can never be repeated,” he still refrained from naming those responsible for the attacks in the first place.

A US Army Air Force bomber dropped an atomic bomb over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, killing up to 126,000 people, most of them civilians. Another nuclear bomb was detonated over the city of Nagasaki on August 9, killing up to 80,000 people, almost all of whom were civilians. Japan surrendered to the Allied powers a week later, bringing the Second World War to a close.

In his speech on Sunday, Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui also avoided naming the perpetrator of the bombing. Matsui called on world leaders to “confront the reality” of “nuclear threats now being voiced by certain policymakers” – another apparent reference to Russia.

The bomb or Jesus and the Jews. Read below:

And, so, Jesus is just an aside to the Hasbara, the Apartheid Nation, and Holly-Dirt, which is owned by the Jews, will make the tough black guy (sic-sic-sic) get on his hands and knees and kiss the feet of these Zionist and Jewish monsters:

The American Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx has issued an apology for a since-deleted Instagram post which some people had construed as being a vocal attack on members of the Jewish community.

Foxx, who won numerous accolades for his portrayal of the iconic musician Ray Charles in the 2004 biopic ‘Ray,’ wrote on Saturday, “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent.”

Foxx’s apology follows a prior social media post issued by the actor which had stated: “They killed this dude named Jesus. What do you think they’ll do to you???! #fakefriends #fakelove.”

That’s the power of lies, and double down lies, until the dirty Catholic Church does more gymnastics to show how dirty it is, on so many levels:

Pope Benedict XVI has made a sweeping exoneration of the Jewish people for the death of Jesus Christ, tackling one of the most controversial issues in Christianity in a new book.

In “Jesus of Nazareth-Part II” excerpts released Wednesday, Benedict explains biblically and theologically why there is no basis in Scripture for the argument that the Jewish people as a whole were responsible for Jesus’ death.

pope benedict xvi, jesus, jews

Oh, the royal “we,” or the collectie “we” or just us, as in “we killed Jesus.”

The best-known text of this nature, however, is found in Matthew’s Gospel:

Now at the festival the governor was accustomed to release a prisoner for the crowd, anyone whom they wanted. At that time they had a notorious prisoner, called Jesus Barrabas. So after they had gathered, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release for you, Jesus Barabbas or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” For he realized that it was out of jealousy that they had handed him over. While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for today I have suffered a great deal because of a dream about him.” Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus killed. The governor again said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release for you?” And they said, “Barabbas.” Pilate said to them, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” All of them said, “Let him be crucified!” Then he asked, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Let him be crucified!”

So when Pilate saw that he could do nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took some water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood; see to it yourselves.” Then the people as a whole answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” So he released Barabbas for them; and after flogging Jesus, he handed him over to be crucified. (27:15–26)

Why would the author of Matthew’s Gospel want to emphasize Jewish guilt rather than Roman guilt in bringing about the death of Jesus and, indeed, extend responsibility for this blood to the descendants (children) of those who were actually present? It seems unlikely that Matthew would want to “let the Romans off the hook,” exonerate them for an obvious act of injustice and sadism.

Most scholars think that Matthew himself was Jewish and that he wrote his Gospel for a congregation of Jewish persons who believed in Jesus as the Messiah. Thus Matthew exemplifies a typical theme in Christian preaching, insisting that he and his congregation bear personal responsibility for the death of Jesus and so share in atonement through his blood.

Matthew is not saying, “Those Jews are to blame for killing Jesus.” He is saying, “We Jews are responsible for killing Jesus. We can’t just blame Pilate and the Romans. His blood is on us.” (source)

The Bomb Didn’t Beat Japan. Stalin Did

The U.S. use of nuclear weapons against Japan during World War II has long been a subject of emotional debate. Initially, few questioned President Truman’s decision to drop two atomic bombs, on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But, in 1965, historian Gar Alperovitz argued that, although the bombs did force an immediate end to the war, Japan’s leaders had wanted to surrender anyway and likely would have done so before the American invasion planned for Nov. 1. Their use was, therefore, unnecessary. Obviously, if the bombings weren’t necessary to win the war, then bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki was wrong. In the 48 years since, many others have joined the fray: some echoing Alperovitz and denouncing the bombings, others rejoining hotly that the bombings were moral, necessary, and life-saving.

Both schools of thought, however, assume that the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with new, more powerful weapons did coerce Japan into surrendering on Aug. 9. They fail to question the utility of the bombing in the first place—to ask, in essence, did it work? The orthodox view is that, yes, of course, it worked. The United States bombed Hiroshima on Aug. 6 and Nagasaki on Aug. 9, when the Japanese finally succumbed to the threat of further nuclear bombardment and surrendered. The support for this narrative runs deep. But there are three major problems with it, and, taken together, they significantly undermine the traditional interpretation of the Japanese surrender.

Timing

The first problem with the traditional interpretation is timing. And it is a serious problem. The traditional interpretation has a simple timeline: The U.S. Army Air Force bombs Hiroshima with a nuclear weapon on Aug. 6, three days later they bomb Nagasaki with another, and on the next day the Japanese signal their intention to surrender.* One can hardly blame American newspapers for running headlines like: “Peace in the Pacific: Our Bomb Did It!”

When the story of Hiroshima is told in most American histories, the day of the bombing—Aug. 6—serves as the narrative climax. All the elements of the story point forward to that moment: the decision to build a bomb, the secret research at Los Alamos, the first impressive test, and the final culmination at Hiroshima. It is told, in other words, as a story about the Bomb. But you can’t analyze Japan’s decision to surrender objectively in the context of the story of the Bomb. Casting it as “the story of the Bomb” already presumes that the Bomb’s role is central.

Historically, the use of the Bomb may seem like the most important discrete event of the war. From the contemporary Japanese perspective, however, it might not have been so easy to distinguish the Bomb from other events. It is, after all, difficult to distinguish a single drop of rain in the midst of a hurricane.

In the summer of 1945, the U.S. Army Air Force carried out one of the most intense campaigns of city destruction in the history of the world. Sixty-eight cities in Japan were attacked and all of them were either partially or completely destroyed. An estimated 1.7 million people were made homeless, 300,000 were killed, and 750,000 were wounded. Sixty-six of these raids were carried out with conventional bombs, two with atomic bombs. The destruction caused by conventional attacks was huge. Night after night, all summer long, cities would go up in smoke. In the midst of this cascade of destruction, it would not be surprising if this or that individual attack failed to make much of an impression—even if it was carried out with a remarkable new type of weapon.

A B-29 bomber flying from the Mariana Islands could carry—depending on the location of the target and the altitude of attack—somewhere between 16,000 and 20,000 pounds of bombs. A typical raid consisted of 500 bombers. This means that the typical conventional raid was dropping 4 to 5 kilotons of bombs on each city. (A kiloton is a thousand tons and is the standard measure of the explosive power of a nuclear weapon. The Hiroshima bomb measured 16.5 kilotons, the Nagasaki bomb 20 kilotons.) Given that many bombs spread the destruction evenly (and therefore more effectively), while a single, more powerful bomb wastes much of its power at the center of the explosion—re-bouncing the rubble, as it were—it could be argued that some of the conventional raids approached the destruction of the two atomic bombings. And, so, RFK, JR. continues JFK’s legacy of lies, fear of the star, man, that dirty corrupt place of Nakba:

Should a person who defends and promotes a state that actively endorses Jewish supremacy be called a Jewish supremacist?

In the recent Globe and Mail commentary “Canada must rethink its friendship with Israel” establishment commentator Thomas Juneau noted that the current hard-right Israeli government “includes Jewish supremacists”. In response Norman Levine tweeted, “the term ‘Jewish supremacists’ borders on antisemitism. I’m shocked the editors at Globe and Mail allowed an article including that term to be published.”

While Levine’s objection is nonsense, Juneau’s use of the qualifier “includes” is absurd. Is anyone in Benjamin Netanyahu’s government not an aggressive Jewish supremacist?

Years before forming his current extremist government, Netanyahu declared that Israel was “not a state of all its citizens”. Referencing a 2018 law he wrote, “according to the basic nationality law we passed, Israel is the nation state of the Jewish people – and only it.” In recent days the Knesset adopted legislation that in certain circumstances gives Jewish Israelis milder punishment for rape and sexual assault than Palestinian citizens of Israel. They also passed a law – by a large margin – effectively allowing communities to exclude non-Jews.

According to Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, more than 65 Israeli laws discriminate against non-Jews. Additionally, the World Zionist Organization, Jewish Agency and Jewish National Fund, which has quasi state status, are constitutionally committed to serving and promoting the interests of Jews and only Jews. In 2021 leading Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem published “A regime of Jewish supremacy between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea: this is apartheid.”

RE: On the Use and Misuse of the Term “Jewish Supremacist”

Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons, but since the USA, is the USI, we are run by an Israel-First, Israel Uber Alles World.

Conducting research on Israeli nuclear weapons has historically been very challenging, not least because Israel purposely does not acknowledge its own possession of nuclear weapons. Moreover, Western governments normally do not include Israel in their descriptions of nuclear-armed states. Additionally, Israeli nuclear whistleblowers have faced significant penalties; in 1986, former nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu was kidnapped by Israeli intelligence services and spent 18 years in prison after giving a detailed interview about Israel’s nuclear program to the Sunday Times (Myre 2004). This chilling effect means that individuals with knowledge of Israel’s nuclear program have been understandably reluctant to provide on-the-record information, which dilutes the ability of open-source researchers to analyze Israel’s nuclear forces. Thankfully, over the past two decades, historians like Avner Cohen and William Burr have contributed invaluable research that has made previously unknown nuances of Israel’s opaque nuclear policy available to the public.1

Additionally, since 1997 a US law known as the Kyl-Bingaman Amendment has prohibited US companies from publishing satellite imagery at a resolution that is “no more detailed or precise than satellite imagery of Israel that is available from commercial sources.” For decades, this has meant that the majority of commercially available satellite imagery of Israel has been limited to a resolution of approximately two meters, making it very difficult to analyze in detail. However, in June 2020, the US Commercial Remote Sensing Regulatory Affairs Office announced that it would now allow commercial imagery providers to offer enhanced imagery of Israel at a resolution of 0.4 meters (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration 2020). The move was made in order to bring American imagery providers in line with their foreign counterparts, which had already been producing imagery at that level for several years. As a result, we have incorporated higher-resolution imagery into this article. (source: Nuclear Notebook: Israeli nuclear weapons, 2022)

It would also begin to introduce better financial management into the system. Finally, this paper reminds us of the raw toll of this conflict. Fucking war, war game, drone war games, all the thunder and bluster, those poor sops are ruined BEFORE they hit the training camp.

In an article in The New York Times, “Please Don’t Thank Me for My Service,” journalist Matt Richtel, who interviews several veterans, says:

To some recent vets—by no stretch all of them—the thanks comes across as shallow, disconnected, a reflexive offering from people who, while meaning well, have no clue what soldiers did over there or what motivated them to go, and who would never have gone themselves nor sent their own sons and daughters. To these vets, thanking soldiers for their service symbolizes the ease of sending a volunteer army to wage war at great distance—physically, spiritually, economically.

Veterans often return only to feel disconnected from the society they served. Unemployment among veterans is decreasing, but it is still higher than the national average. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is common: Between 10 percent to 30 percent of veterans develop PTSD after returning home. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, as many as 20 veterans take their own life each day.

The word “hero” after the atrocities veterans have witnessed is sometimes unwelcome. Other veterans, like Jarrod Chlapowski, say they feel undeserving of thanks. Writing in The Huffington Post, he says:

The ‘thank yous’ [have become] less awkward, though I have never felt like I deserved them. My service completed roughly as expected, experiencing nothing more dangerous than the plane ride home on leave.

Do not believe the fucking hype, all those war movies, all those fucking Born on the Fourth of July movies, or those Toro Toro Toro hate flicks. Don’t believe the new shit storm movie, Oppenheimer, none of it. And, that harangued and over-taxed taxpayer footing the bill for Raytheon, et al, for that Nazi ZioAzovLensky, all the new shit we are cooking up in Taiwan and China, this is how the military gets Johnny and Juanita, man, all LGBT and heterodox, the Incels, the lot of them — raped by Uncle Sam, and the military is one giant rape of the mind academy, and physically, too: Here’s the fucking claim sheet, and a friend just stopped by, after his hell, his psychiatric hell, all the PTSD, a la C, complex, and, sure, his big brother, all those people in his life who abused him — he’s gay — all of that got him somehow wrangled into the fucking No Thank You for Your Fucking Big Boy, Big Gun, Big Swining Dicks (now swinging labias) MILITARY — disservice!

And you can’t even build housing for people about to be homeless, those sleeping with families in vans, in hotel rooms, and, sure, rough sleepers, who are just the tip of the iceberg of homelessness. This is what Raytheon and DoD produce, to the “socialism for the war machine” just comes out of our poor sad sacks every tax time:

The most common mental health disorders impacting veterans are PTSD, depression, and traumatic brain injury. However, many more mental health conditions can qualify a veteran for a VA disability rating.

Here is a list of all VA-eligible mental health conditions:

  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Depression
    • Major depressive disorder
    • Persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia)
  • Schizophrenia, delusional disorder, and other psychotic disorders
  • Schizoaffective disorder
  • Delirium
  • Major or mild neurocognitive disorder due to:
    • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
    • HIV
    • Infection
    • Alzheimer’s disease
    • Substance/medication-induced
    • Unspecified neurocognitive disorder
    • Another medical condition
  • Major or mild vascular neurocognitive disorder
  • Anxiety
    • Generalized anxiety disorder
    • Other specified or unspecified anxiety disorder
    • Social anxiety disorder (social phobia)
    • Illness anxiety disorder

Personality disorders and substance abuse generally can’t be service connected. Although, substance abuse can be granted a rating secondary to another mental health condition.

VA DISABILITY FOR MENTAL HEALTH
VA RATING FOR MENTAL HEALTH 1

It’s all on the ledger, on the spectrum, on the continuing criminal enterprise of paying out for Thanks for your Fucking Service:

5. You could earn a 100%, 70%, 50%, 30%, 10%, or 0% mental health VA rating depending on the severity of your symptoms

You go from one VA board hearing, to the next social worker, to the next MD, to the next head shrinker, and you smoke like a chimney and self-medicate and isolate and then become this person whose life — if you still have gas in your tank — is about getting the Benjamins.

The actual numbers, the actual monthly checks paid out to the Thanks but No Thanks for Your Service dudes and gals is a tough number indeed.

Here, generally, mixing civilian with military:

Published: April 25, 2022 — ABSTRACT

Objective: To estimate the economic burden of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the United States civilian and military populations from a societal perspective.

Methods: A prevalence-based and human capital approach was used to estimate the total excess costs of PTSD in 2018 from insurance claims data, academic literature, and governmental publications. Excess direct health care costs (pharmacy, medical), direct non–health care costs (research and training, substance use, psychotherapy, homelessness, disability), and indirect costs (unemployment, productivity loss, caregiving, premature mortality) associated with PTSD were compared between adults with PTSD and adults without PTSD, or the general population if information was not available for adults without PTSD.

Results: The total excess economic burden of PTSD in the US was estimated at $232.2 billion for 2018 ($19,630 per individual with PTSD). Total excess costs were $189.5 billion (81.6%) in the civilian population and $42.7 billion (18.4%) in the military population, corresponding to $18,640 and $25,684 per individual with PTSD in the civilian and military populations, respectively.

In the civilian population, the excess burden was driven by direct health care ($66.0 billion) and unemployment ($42.7 billion) costs.

In the military population, the excess burden was driven by disability ($17.8 billion) and direct health care ($10.1 billion) costs.

Conclusions: The economic burden of PTSD goes beyond direct health care costs and has been found to rival costs for other costly mental health conditions. Increased awareness of PTSD, development of more effective therapies, and expansion of evidence-based interventions may be warranted to reduce the large clinical and economic burden of PTSD.

Then you have the fucking PSYOPS RAND — gets those oh-so smart graduate students and PhDs and the like to come up with global war plan a or z, but then they do this “study”: Invisible Wounds: Mental Health and Cognitive Care Needs of America’s Returning Veterans.

This is for ONE fucking illegal attack and occupation continuing criminal proving grounds for the rich and the MIC and the like:

Oh, man, chart after chart after chart:

And this war mongering shit research outfit recommends what? End the military budgets for drones, bombs, nukes, air craft carriers, all the rotten and broken and cost-overrun pieces of military hardware? Turn the military into public service outfits, supporting old and young, fire-drenched and heat-soaked, all the bad transportation in the USA, potholes, all the mutual aid we need? Nope:

Recommendations and Conclusions

Looking across all the dimensions of our analysis, we offer four main recommendations for improving the understanding and treatment of PTSD, major depression, and TBI among military veterans:

  • Increase and improve the capacity of the mental health care system to deliver evidence-based care. There is substantial unmet need among returning servicemembers for care of PTSD and major depression. DoD, the VA, and providers in the civilian sector need greater capacity to provide treatment, which will require new programs to recruit and train more providers throughout the U.S. health care system.
  • Change policies to encourage more servicemembers and veterans to seek needed care. Many who need care are reluctant to seek it. Servicemembers and veterans need ways to obtain confidential services without fear of adverse consequences.
  • Deliver evidence-based care in all settings. Providers in all settings should be trained and required to deliver evidence-based care. This change will require implementing systems to ensure sustained quality and coordination of care and to aid quality improvement across all settings in which servicemembers and veterans are served.
  • Invest in research to close knowledge gaps and plan effectively. Medical science would benefit from a deeper understanding of how these conditions evolve over time among veterans as well as of the effect of treatment and rehabilitation on outcomes. The United States needs a national strategy to support an aggressive research agenda across all medical service sectors for this population.

Then, the 20 Years of War project:

Between 2001 and 2050, the total costs of caring for veterans of the post-9/11 wars are estimated to reach between $2.2 and $2.5 trillion. This includes the amount already paid in disability and related benefits and medical care, as well as the projected future cost of lifetime disability benefits and health care for those who have served in the military during these wars. 2 This estimate is double the author’s previous projections in 2011 and 2013. 3 Several factors account for this dramatic increase. These include: extraordinarily high rates of disabilities among this cohort of veterans, greater outreach by the federal government to inform veterans of their eligibility for benefits, more generous eligibility and benefit compensation, as well as more advanced and expensive medical care, and substantial investment by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to process and administer claims and benefit programs and deliver health care. Federal expenditures to care for veterans doubled from 2.4 percent of the U.S. budget in FY 2001 to 4.9 percent in FY 2020, even as the total number of living veterans from all U.S. wars declined from 25.3 million to 18.5 million.

Yet the majority of the costs associated with caring for post-9/11 veterans has not yet been paid and will continue to accrue long into the future. As in earlier U.S. wars, the costs of care and benefits for post-9/11 veterans will not reach their peak until

And, my friend, my wife’s friend, originally, he went into the Navy in the 1980s because he feared the shit storm economic freefall, and he wanted to see the world. He then, wanted to be a journalist (he puts that in air quotes), but it was a long wait, and he needed to eat, in his own words, so he went into the assisting chaplain corp.

Eventually he did do public service at small navy stations, and wrote “news” and did radio, and he tells me his proudest moment was helping write a grant while stationed in Vermont (during the base closure time where some money went to hearts and minds) to support visual and performance arts and arts education. The non-profit is way far from any government funding, and is still kicking.

My friend will be hitting the road, and he is visiting folk he cares about, those of us in the USA. He wants to get the fuck out of the USA. His next adventure is Europe, and then settling in Greece, where he was stationed, and he does know the language. He wants to take his $5 K a month in PTSD/MST/SS benefits and live his life writing poetry, starting a poetry YouTube channel, and be in some form of quietude and quality of relationships.

His story is his to tell, and he is wanting to write that memoir, and alas, he will be out of the USA by next year, early.

What does that presence of US pukes, the DoD, the contractors, all of them, for the Empires spread of filth, DO to the local populations?

2001-2021

The period following the 9/11 attacks, and the declaration of war on both Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003, saw a large spike in troops abroad. At least 800,000 Americans served in Afghanistan and more than 1.5 million in Iraq over the past 20 years.

The human cost of the wars is estimated to have killed more than 900,000 people – mostly civilians.

Fucking lazy, arrogant, messed up Americanos, and these navy guys and gals, yep, never had a peace studies class in K12, never had historylessons, never heard of fucking General Smedley Butler.

Fuck you and Fuck Your Disservice to the World.

Smedley Butler on Interventionism

— Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.

War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.

I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we’ll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

I wouldn’t go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

There isn’t a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its “finger men” to point out enemies, its “muscle men” to destroy enemies, its “brain men” to plan war preparations, and a “Big Boss” Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.

It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country’s most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.

Read his fucking short but oh-so-clear War is a Racket to understand there are no THANK YOU’s deserved for your bombs busting in air, on the ground, in bunkers, on crops, onto wedding parties.

Fucking today: A Reporter at Large, Hiroshima, By John Hersey, August 23, 1946

That dirty country, USA!

“On August 6, 1945, the United States US Army Air Forces dropped the atomic bomb “Little Boy” on Hiroshima, killing over 70,000 citizens and leaving at least as many ill from radiation sickness. It was the beginning of a horrible madness that seized the American soul.

The United States government dismissed all reports from Japan of radiation sickness, and other conditions, in the months that followed that bombing, claiming that such reports were just conspiracy theories. It would take enormous battles within the US, and around the world, to finally get the US to admit that this atomic weapon was different from a conventional weapon.

But everyone in the War Department knew exactly what sort of a bomb had been dropped and what it did to people. The Manhattan Project that developed the atomic bomb had undertaken horrible human experiments to determine the influence of radiation on the body, after all. “ — “Apology to the Japanese people and the world on the 78th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima” by Emanuel Pastreich

According to a US official and a person familiar with the matter interviewed by the outlet, an initial group of eight Ukrainian pilots who are proficient in English are ready to start training once a formal instruction plan is drawn up by several European countries and approved by the US.

US activist and philosopher Cornel West said he is confident that it is his criticism of Israel cost him tenure at Harvard.

The Harvard Divinity School professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy, who announced late last week that he might leave the university after being denied academic tenure, claimed he was being punished for his views on Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

“This is my hypothesis, because given the possibilities of why they would not be even interested in initiating a tenure process, what else it could be? And I asked them. And I didn’t receive a reply,” 67-year-old West, who holds a joint appointment in the Department of African and African-American Studies, said in an interview on the TightRope podcast aired on Tuesday.

“The problem is that [talking about the Israeli occupation of Palestine] is a taboo issue among certain circles in high places. It is hard to have a robust, respectful conversation about the Israeli occupation because you are immediately viewed as an anti-Jewish hater or [having] anti-Jewish prejudices.

How Orthodox Money Is Reshaping Republican Politics – The Forward

“We’ve got a whole wave of Jewish comrades, Jewish brothers and sisters, who are critical of the Israeli-occupation, but not in high places,” West said.

In his interview on Tuesday, West, considered one of America’s foremost intellectuals, said the significance of being not granted tenure was really a case of the university tolerating him over taking full responsibility for his presence.

In American universities, to be offered tenure means being granted an indefinite appointment at the institution. Scholars consider tenure a safeguard for academic freedom.

“I am not a backdoor-going-kind-of-brother. They got the wrong Black man. If I can’t be a free Black man, in the way in which I can preserve my self-respect, then I am not going to be in a place like that,” West said.

Harvard University has faced criticism in the past for refusing to offer tenure to scholars deemed to be controversial, but many observers expressed surprise that a scholar of West’s experience could remain untenured.

Harvard University did not respond to MEE’s request for comment but the Boston Globe reported that a Harvard spokesperson had disputed West’s characterisation of events.

‘Complict in Israeli crimes’

David Klein, a member of the US Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel and a professor of mathematics at California State University, told MEE that there was a long history of attempts to suppress or have outspoken critics of Israel fired from academic posts. (source)

Klein said that West’s account was in all likelihood “the tip of the iceberg”.

So, the world is inside out, upside down, war is peace loving, and lies are the truth believing. Fucking world, and we are stuck in the Hasbara Dark TImes.

Is this what the dems and republicans say to themselves, at their Epstein Parties?

The 1993 Los Angeles Times article that first brought Judith Sheindlin national attention begins with the case of a crack-addicted mother who gave birth in a bathroom, unattended. The mother pushed, and her infant fell to the floor and broke his skull. Sheindlin, then a Manhattan Family Court judge, wondered aloud if there was anything to be done about the woman.

A moment later, she clarified: “Can we stop her from populating half the planet?”

Of course, the stupid SLate article is written by, drum roll, by a Jew: Judge Judy’s Lifetime Achievement Is Teaching Us to Laugh at the Less Fortunate

Why bring this up? Well, Judith Sheindlin is Tony Blinken is Larry Summers is George Soros is RBG, is Albright and is Nuland and Yellen and Garland and, hell, this is it for the menorah tree of life.

Remember that Chicago Mayor? He wants that Judy Rahm show too.

Rahm Emanuel wants to become a pundit. His track record of being wrong on everything makes him perfectly qualified for cable news.

Here, three idiotic women talking about Judge Racist Judy. ‘Judge Judy’ is now ‘Judy Justice,’ but little else has changed

But I did become increasingly aware of what her biases were and what some of her really kind of increasingly caustic attitudes were. There’s a lot of racism ingrained in her reactions to particular kinds of people, the way they dress, the way they talk. She is profoundly skeptical of anyone who receives any kind of public assistance, including disability. She has a real belief that there’s no such thing as really being – you know, having no job and really not having a way to make money. She loves to say go collect cans, which I think is a thing that perhaps to her is a thing that one could do to make a few dollars. But I mean…

HARRIS: Maybe 60, 70 years ago. She is, like, almost 80.

(LAUGHTER)

HOLMES: Well, and this is the thing. I think for a long time, I enjoyed the show enough that I sort of wrote those things off as kind of like – like, she’s just that, like, kind of nutty person, and you just kind of put it to the side that she has all these weird qualities. But gradually, I really couldn’t do that anymore and stopped watching her a few years ago. I mean, I’m curious how either one of you guys feels about those sort of parts of her persona and personality.

MEINZER: Yeah. Well, I do think at the time when she made the splash onto the scene, I think a lot of people wanted to hear that point of view. We wanted to hear – you know, the point of view at that point was, like, pull yourself up by your bootstraps. Whatever you get was the energy you put out. And she absolutely personified that. And, you know, she treated people like you got what you deserved. You were the dum-dum who signed that contract. You were the dum-dum who moved in with that boyfriend after just a few weeks.

In a way, it was kind of cathartic at the time to hear her say the things that maybe we wanted to to certain people in our lives, like our friend who keeps going out with the same kind of toxic guy – like, oh, why do you keep doing this? And it was kind of relieving to hear and also, again, in keeping with the times and our viewpoints of, you know, you get what you ask for, and anybody can make it if you work hard enough. And I think that in the 25 years since the show launched, we’ve come to see things differently, and the general consensus – I like to think, at least – is that we’re a lot more aware of things like structural inequality. I don’t think anyone was using words like structural inequality back in – you know, 25 years ago. But we’re talking about those things now, and maybe collecting cans isn’t going to be enough for most of us.

And I’ve learned a lot more about her over the years, especially after living by her book. She happened to grow up in a very stable, heteronormative, nuclear family where there weren’t those worries about family, where she was daddy’s favorite person in the whole world, and he always raised her to believe in herself. And he raised her with certain values and certain stability that maybe the rest of us didn’t grow up with. And let’s also be real. She is white, you know? And so on top of, you know, everything else that she already had in her household, she also had certain privileges that came with her race. And so – and also, just to echo what you were saying earlier, Aisha, she is almost 80, so she…

HARRIS: Yeah.

MEINZER: She does have certain viewpoints that I think go with that in a lot of cases. But yeah, the older I’ve gotten, the more I watch the show and watching the recent show, I’m like, sometimes she’s just mean, and sometimes people who make the same mistakes over and over again, sometimes those of us who keep going back to bad men or who are taken advantage by people – we’re not going to get better by people yelling at us and telling us we’re stupid. Maybe what we need is for someone to tell us that we’re special and we’re cherished and we deserve better, not that we’re idiots. And that’s not her M.O. She’s going to yell at me and tell me I’m a dum-dum instead.

Zionist role in 1950s attacks on Iraqi Jews confirmed by operative & police report

A police report and an interview with a former Zionist operative form the basis of Avi Shlaim’s claim that he has uncovered “undeniable proof” of Israeli involvement in bombings which drove Jews out of Iraq in the early 1950s, the British-Israeli historian told Middle East Eye.

Shlaim’s autobiography Three Worlds: Memoirs of an Arab-Jew, published earlier this month, details his childhood as an Iraqi Jew and subsequent exile to Israel.

It also includes research about a number of bombings in Iraq which prompted a mass exodus of Jews from the country between 1950 and 1951, most of whom, like he and his family, ended up in Israel.

The US approved the sale of David’s Sling, the air defense system jointly developed by Israel and the US, to Finland, according to the Israeli military, clearing likely the last diplomatic hurdle for the $345 million deal.

“The approval granted by the U.S. government today for the sale of the David’s Sling […] marks a significant step towards the realization of a historic agreement between Israel and Finland,” Israel Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in a statement today, announcing the approval from the US. He called the news a “new milestone in the cooperation between our countries that will improve our response to global and regional threats.”

Circumcised fucking missiles from the menorah land. Is this a crime against humanity, or what? And the mead sucking Vikings and LapLanders are sucking in more to pay for a system that is ABSOLUTELY not needed, but in the eyes of Holly-Dirt and the Hasbara, Russia wants to do what? Fuck.

The firm that invented thalidomide, a drug that caused birth defects in thousands of babies, carried out a deliberate disinformation campaign when experts first spotted possible severe side effects, a report commissioned by the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW) said on Friday.

Thalidomide, developed by the German firm Gruenenthal, was marketed internationally to pregnant women in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a treatment for morning sickness.

“Ignorance is Bliss” and other Fallacies of Counterinsurgency by Erica Caines

When attempting to educate someone politically, or confront them with the contradictions present in our material reality, oftentimes the phrase “ignorance is bliss” is said, suggesting that not knowing or not being aware of certain things can bring a sense of happiness or contentment. The phrase also suggests that being unaware of certain truths, realities, or problems can be more comfortable and less troubling to an individual than knowing and dealing with them.

As playwright and activist, Lorraine Hansberry understood, “Comfort has come to be its own corruption.”  Yet, not only is this sentiment commonly used to explain why some people are okay with not learning more, many are unaware of the origins of “ignorance is bliss.”

The phrase “ignorance is bliss” comes from 18th century English poet, Thomas Gray, from a passage in his 1742 poem Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College. The poem explores themes of youth, nostalgia, and the contrast between innocence of childhood and the complexities of adulthood.

“Where ignorance is bliss,

‘Tis folly to be wise.”

The (mis)use of “ignorance is bliss” takes on larger implications for Afrikans living within the empire who are colonized politically, economically and socially. As colonized subjects, we are infantilized, which refers to a process by which the colonizers portray or treat colonized people as childlike, immature, or intellectually inferior.

This psychological tactic is employed by colonial powers to justify their control and domination over colonized populations; it was a means of subjugating and suppressing the cultural, political, and intellectual development of the colonized populations.

The colonized are depicted as primitive, uncivilized, and in need of guidance or paternalistic care. This portrayal serves to rationalize the imposition of colonial rule and the implementation of policies aimed at assimilation, exploitation, and/ or cultural erasure.

And, the whitey on the moon race is as ignorant as it’s LaLaLazyLandians make them, Barbie and Oppen-Monster-Heim included.

Afrika:

“To Be Afrikan” — By Dr. Marimba Ani

All people, all over the world, throughout history have shared in common the fact that they belong to a culture of origin. That is a universal reality. Another equally important universal reality is that there are many, many different cultures in the world and each of them is unique.

The uniqueness of a culture is what gives specialness to its members. The members of a culture are bonded together by their shared culture, which gives them a sense of collective identity.

“We are an Afrikan people,” simply reveals that there are values, traditions and a heritage that we share because we have a common origin. The cultural process is naturally a ongoing, which allows people to continuously affirm their connectedness through being linked to their origins.

However, the continuity of our cultural identity has been interrupted cruelly and unnaturally by the experience of slavery. We as a people are still suffering from this crime because we have not been allowed to find our way back to the sense of cultural identity and continuity which would transform us into a unified and whole people. We have not been able to function in the world with a collective consciousness that naturally imparts a strong sense of cultural roots.

The term “Maafa” (from the book, “Let The Circle Be Unbroken) is a kiswahili word for “disaster” that we are now using to reclaim our right to tell our own story. Maafa refers to the enslavement of our people and to the sustained attempt to dehumanize us. Because the Maafa has disconnected us from our cultural origins, we have remained vulnerable in a social order that does not reflect our cultural identity.

We are people of African ancestry living in denial of who we are. We have lost our strength as a people. We are losing our children to systems which miseducate them. Our families are disintegrating before our eyes. Our numbers are growing in the statistics of drug addiction and incarceration.

Responsible national Black organizations are seeking remedies to these problems, but we are not speaking with one voice. We need to work together as a family who supports its members and who is responsible for their welfare. We must use the most valuable asset that we have: That is the spirit of our people. It is that spirit that connects us to our Afrikan roots.

Slowly, we are awakening to the need to claim our cultural legacy. The term “Sankofa” from Akan tradition in Ghana, West Africa tells us to return to the Source so that we can go forward with strength and clarity. Culture is a powerful tool for inspiring human beings and bringing them together in a concerted “family” action.

Our cultural roots are the most ancient in the world. The spiritual concepts of our Ancestors gave birth to religious thought African people believe in the oneness of the African family through sacred time, which unites the past, the present and the future.

Our Ancestors live with us. They created the first civilizations thousands of years ago and they suffered the pain of the Maafa. And yet, they were able to endure the most disastrous and dehumanizing circumstances ever perpetrated against a group of people, only because of the power of the African spirit. They did not have the freedom to affirm their cultural heritage. We now have that choice. In the African view of life it is our responsibility to honor their name.

This is perhaps our moment of truth. We must come together as a family. We must do all that we can do to uplift our people. Otherwise, we are still denying who we are and bringing dishonor to our “family name;” to our Ancestors.

The answer to our social dilemma is the resocialization of our people into the cultural value-system that affirms our spiritual being. Our Ancestors are calling us “home”, back to our cultural selves. We must begin the process of Sankofa.

“Inside the AI Factory” on the cover of New York Magazine

A few months after graduating from college in Nairobi, a 30-year-old I’ll call Joe got a job as an annotator — the tedious work of processing the raw information used to train artificial intelligence. AI learns by finding patterns in enormous quantities of data, but first that data has to be sorted and tagged by people, a vast workforce mostly hidden behind the machines. In Joe’s case, he was labeling footage for self-driving cars — identifying every vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist, anything a driver needs to be aware of — frame by frame and from every possible camera angle. It’s difficult and repetitive work. A several-second blip of footage took eight hours to annotate, for which Joe was paid about $10.

Then, in 2019, an opportunity arose: Joe could make four times as much running an annotation boot camp for a new company that was hungry for labelers. Every two weeks, 50 new recruits would file into an office building in Nairobi to begin their apprenticeships. There seemed to be limitless demand for the work. They would be asked to categorize clothing seen in mirror selfies, look through the eyes of robot vacuum cleaners to determine which rooms they were in, and draw squares around lidar scans of motorcycles. Over half of Joe’s students usually dropped out before the boot camp was finished. “Some people don’t know how to stay in one place for long,” he explained with gracious understatement. Also, he acknowledged, “it is very boring.”

Sorry, these fuckers need the bat to the head, Substack. You understand, SS-Substack, Facebook, Google Gulag? BATS to the head, two clean shots.

Much of the public response to language models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT has focused on all the jobs they appear poised to automate. But behind even the most impressive AI system are people — huge numbers of people labeling data to train it and clarifying data when it gets confused. Only the companies that can afford to buy this data can compete, and those that get it are highly motivated to keep it secret. The result is that, with few exceptions, little is known about the information shaping these systems’ behavior, and even less is known about the people doing the shaping. (source)

And all my old friends in journalism, urban planning, teaching, poets, novelists, enviornmentalists, social workers, and academics, they stay a thousand miles away from my way of thinking because they are dead. Dead dead dead, and enjoy the labor of slaves, 2023 Style:

Annotators generally know only that they are training AI for companies located vaguely elsewhere, but sometimes the veil of anonymity drops — instructions mentioning a brand or a chatbot say too much. “I read and I Googled and found I am working for a 25-year-old billionaire,” said one worker, who, when we spoke, was labeling the emotions of people calling to order Domino’s pizza. “I really am wasting my life here if I made somebody a billionaire and I’m earning a couple of bucks a week.”

They are coming to get you India, Afrika. Daily, dangling the five dollar an hour job, and, then, bam, you are theirs, forever.

This is from the Jewish Times, the New Yorker? Is this a joke?

The result is that, with few exceptions, little is known about the information shaping these systems’ behavior, and even less is known about the people doing the shaping.

Are they just thinking all of us are brain dead? No mention of trans-humanism, Fourth Industrial Revolution, so trapped in that fucking east coast zinc lined bull shit place, another fucking asshole rag, New Yorker:

As for the company employing them, most knew it only as Remotasks, a website offering work to anyone fluent in English. Like most of the annotators I spoke with, Joe was unaware until I told him that Remotasks is the worker-facing subsidiary of a company called Scale AI, a multibillion-dollar Silicon Valley data vendor that counts OpenAI and the U.S. military among its customers. Neither Remotasks’ or Scale’s website mentions the other.

Fucking hell, a side note. So, I was writing this blog piece, and like a good human, I had to pick some fucking tomatoes in the yard, clean the lettuce, get the quiche going and play a few games with the spouse — cribbage and Yatzee. But, I left my fucking Substack open, and here we go, an email from the AI Gods, fucking pieces of SHIT Substack.

So, I did take a piss, scratch my balls, pick my nose, wash my hands, check on the cornbread, took apart an oscillating fan, did some drilling, checked my Russian channels on Telegram, and, any other number of things. Those fucking pigs using slaves for coding and AI tasking — enslavement — are gearing up to know us all, even a fucking communist mother fucking social worker type who has no qualms taking a bat to their heads — billionaires’ heads — who also writes poems, novels, and takes long ass walks on the beach while listening to podcasts not approved by Underwriters Labs.

Ahh, taskers for AI, or miners for uranium, these mother fuckers need many many bats to the heads, their entire lines, man.

The West African Peoples’ Organization (WAPO) has “vehemently opposed” the ultimatum by ECOWAS Heads of States on July 30 to “take all measures necessary,” including “the use of force,” if the ousted president and his government is not restored by Sunday, August 6.

This decision of ECOWAS is “a maneuver by colonial France and Great Britain, under the hegemony of American imperialism, to resort to armed intervention under the guise of restoring democracy and human rights in Niger,” WAPO said in a statement on Wednesday, August 2.

“To keep the uranium-rich country under the imperialist fold”

Warning that the real purpose is to “keep Niger continually in the imperialist fold,” the group of unions, left parties, and civil society organizations described Bazoum as “servile to the imperialist powers of NATO, particularly France, which for decades has plundered its uranium.”

Endowed with Africa’s highest grade of uranium ores in Africa, Niger is the world’s seventh largest producer of this nuclear fuel. While Niger itself remains one of the lowest consumers of electricity — with an electrification rate of only about 17.5% — its uranium has been powering a third of the light bulbs in France.

Know your fucking history, and your fucking current events. These people, these AI mother fuckers, these Blinkens old and new, churned out by the hundreds yearly, from those elite finishing schools, and then the Ivy League and the Other Poison Ivy shit schools with their rabbi-influenced teachers yammering away at what and how and when, instead of teaching these mother-fuckers WHY the fuck we (sic)are messing with other countries and WHY the fuck are we (sic) wanting famine, terror and enslavement in those countries and WHY the fuck are our (sic) scientists not just splitting the split atom, but why the FUCK are they spilling their shit across the globe?

Niger Republic: West set trap for ECOWAS to go into war – Adamu Garba

Garba urged President Bola Tinubu to be courageous enough to resist pressure from France and U.S for the ECOWAS to wage any military action against Niger.

The APC chieftain called on Tinubu to opt for a non-kinetic and diplomatic approach.

Garba stated, “The West, under France and the U.S have perfectly set a TRAP for ECOWAS to go into a total war in the region. Any mistake of military intervention in Niger means we are done with.

“President Tinubu must be courageous enough to resist French and U.S pressure on ECOWAS to wage any military action against Niger. We must use a non-kinetic, diplomatic approach.

“If we make a mistake of involving military means in Niger, we may end up inviting more internal problems to ourselves and to the effort we made so hard in building a democratic government in place.

[There were 50,783 deaths, 297 missing and 107,204 injured across 11 of the 17 affected provinces of Turkey. At least 15.73 million people and 4 million buildings were affected. About 345,000 apartments were destroyed.]

Afrika, know your enemies, man.

Despite economic difficulties and pressure for short-term gains, Turkiye should prioritize long-term stability and peace in the region. It is essential to protect critical infrastructure, such as natural gas pipelines, from potential sabotage attempts, as they are vital for the country’s energy security. As such, Ankara should develop comprehensive plans and strategies to safeguard its interests, including exploration, surveillance, and monitoring activities in the air, on the surface, and underwater.

Ultimately, Turkiye’s approach to regional challenges should be guided by foresight, diplomacy, and a commitment to maintaining the Black Sea as a zone of peace and cooperation. By doing so, Turkiye can continue to play a crucial role in fostering stability and security in this strategically significant region. (source: The Black Sea: A new arena for a global clash?)

Nato, the Thalidomide of the world:

Marga Ferré, Co-President of transform! europe, comments on the NATO-led western militarisation and analyses its ideological foundation. In this context, she points out the construction of the “other” as the enemy and racial supremacy, which both must be fought.

[Simulated attack near a village in Lithuania as part of Exercise Saber Strike]

Now that NATO is aiming to redefine itself under the euphemism of Global NATO, it is scarcely hiding its intention to once again strengthen its limits (walls) of bloc politics, a scenario that antagonises the “other”, an “enemy” that justifies its existence and, above all, the enormous expenditure on defence that is made more expensive by NATO’s mere existence.

By reading President Joe Biden’s latest National Security Strategic Guidance from 2021, the following realisation can be clearly drawn: they are desperately trying to return to what they recall as the US of “before”, the rector of the “Pax Imperator” that defined the western hemisphere following the Second World War and reached its fever pitch during the Cold War, to which this newly refreshed NATO looks back upon with melancholy.

She does wonders in her piece, so Afrikans, read it.

The construction of an enemy is a projection, and the best way to understand it is though analysis on racism and slavery where the desire for superiority operates by inverse identification: if I have a slave that means I am his/her master… Even if I don’t have anything, I will always be better than a black man or a woman. The nature of exploitation and the justification of violence work in unison: for this “us” to unify faithfully around the powerful, they claim that the “others” are capable of destroying us or our place in the world.

Judith Butler, in her essay Without Fear, recalls Sigmund Freud when analysing this projection:

this consideration of the other as a bearer of destruction is only one of the many modalities of destruction, of categorising the other as unworthy of morn, precisely because they are not considered as living. For the national way of life, imbued with racial and ethnic phantasmagoria, projection and self-defence tend to go hand-in-hand, bringing about their destructive work in tandem.”3

Another American author, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature and author of The Origin of Others, Toni Morrison, asks:

“What is the nature of Othering’s comfort, its allure, its power (social, psychological, or economical)? Is it the thrill of belonging — which implies being part of something bigger than one’s solo self, and therefore stronger? […] the social/psychological need for a ‘stranger,’ an Other in order to define the estranged self.”4

But there are not only people that identify with it more strongly out of fear of losing privilege (real or assumed) or a desire to belong to the dominant group, rather this perversion goes beyond the bellicose discourse that NATO imposes on the world: in their eyes, taking pity on the stranger, the hated and eliminable other, means the possibility of becoming one. This is the work that media outlets so zealously carry out at the service of racist discourse in which otherness is a synonym of threat.

NATO as a Bellicose Expression of Supremacy

What this construct scarcely obscures is the supremacist self-perception of those at NATO who indicate and name the enemies of the West. Another philosopher, Alain Badiou, expressed this in his brilliant analysis on the Arab uprisings and the west’s reaction to them:

“Ultimately, our governments and media outlets have offered a simple interpretation of the uprisings in the Arab world. What they have expressed is what we could call a Western desire, a desire for them to finally be integrated into the civilised world that westerners, the incorrigible descendants of racist colonists, are so sure they represent.”5

Nah, the ionosphere: A rocket launch by Elon Musk‘s SpaceX has punctured a temporary hole in the ionosphere of our planet’s atmosphere.

The Falcon 9 rocket was launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California late on July 19, sending it soaring into space at immense speeds.

Pictures of the sky over Flagstaff, Arizona, after the launch showed a faint red glow in the wake of the rocket: a fingerprint of the rocket having punched a hole in the ionosphere.

So we got this flick, about Jesse James and his gang, and the intrigues of his fucked up physical self, the bank robberies, the train hold ups, the head shots with .44 and .45 caliber revolvers. Colt, man, and his dirty gang, and the so-called steal from he rich and give to the poor narrative.

Now, I write this quickly because there is a cameo by a leech, a grub worm, really, that piece of shit Carville, the human stain called what?

Former Clinton strategist James Carville warns voters not to “fall for” the Green Party candidacy of Cornel West, noting that his campaign manager Jill Stein is “almost certainly an agent of the Russian government.”

“So, you know, people are going to have to decide, do we want to continue under our Constitution,” Carville told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Monday.

This is it, from Jesse James to the worthless scum buckets Anderson and James:

That’s the graduation we have collectively witnessed — cold killers like Jesse James matriculated 150 years later into the most monsterous ones, the Ivy Leaguers, or these scum bucket Billy Clinton manipulators.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - Rotten Tomatoes
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford – Boston Herald

So, Robert Ford murdered a murderer, and he played himself on stage, and the factoid is he shot Jesse over and over on stage, 800 times. His brother was on stage, playing Jesse, but he put a plug into his heart.

The hard, cold, pry that warm Colt from my cold rigor mortis hand Americans loved Jesse, hated Robert, and that young guy (he murdered the murderer at age 20) ended up getting shot, too, and that fuckng Americano, got jailed, but over 7,000 letters came in demanding a pardon.

Fucking flim-flam America: Throughout their long career and afterward, their exploits were seized upon by writers who exaggerated and romanticized their deeds to meet the demands of Eastern readers for bloody Western tales.

On April 3, 1882, Robert shot Jesse in the back of the head, as the legend goes, while he was dusting off a picture in the living room of his home. O’Neal writes that Ford, like in the film, was rewarded for killing Jesse by Missouri Governor Thomas Theodore Crittenden (James Carville), who pardoned Robert for the murder of Hite.

The brothers became famous. However, dark times were ahead. According to O’Neal, Bob came to be regarded with “widespread contempt and scorn” by people around the country. In 1884, Charlie committed suicide. Bob took his story around the country, but O’Neal writes, “boos were the usual reaction.”

The Assassination of Robert Ford

Bob’s reputation in American life made him a target. In 1889, according to a report from the New York Times, he survived an attempted assassination. The Times quotes Bob’s recounting of the tale. As he leaned back in his chair, a man grabbed his hair and drew a knife. Luckily, a friend of Bob’s intervened and prevented the man from slitting Bob’s throat. Bob says in the report:

The knife out through my collar and grazed my neck, inflicting a slight wound. I was unarmed, or I would have shot him on the spot. As it was he took to his heels and escaped.

Bob’s luck, however, would run out. He died on June 8, 1892, at the age of 30, murdered by Edward Capeheart O’Kelley of Missouri after a fight in a saloon. The reasons for the killing are disputed. However, according to Johnston:

[O’Kelley’s] father fought for the Union and his grandparents were from a confederate family—he was separated from his parents physically and also ideologically. He grew up idolizing Jesse and dreaming of riding with him.

It is pathetic, truly, that in 2023, we are in advanced stages of Dementia. Collective Dementia, with a good co-occuring bout of Stockhold Syndrome, and, well numbing:

Robert Jay Lifton, author of Hiroshima in America: A History of Denial (co-authored with Greg Mitchell), among many other books. Lifton describes psychic numbing as “a diminished capacity or inclination to feel” prompted by “the completely unprecedented dimension of this revolution in technological destructiveness.”

So, I can quote Lifton, but alas, he is generationally and democratic party numb to his own country’s ugly use of EVERY weapon in the book, including the nukes, yet he yammers on over at Tom Dispatch about how unstable Putin is.

The idea of psychic numbing tied to technological aspects of nuke bombs has to be applied to a larger arena — the numbing of people like Lifton and Mitchel and others to the fact the USA is the world’s terrorist outfit, and that all these armchair stupidities about Putin and Russia and Ukraine the innocent, well, can we call Lifton and Mitchell stupid, and then James Carroll? Yes, these three people are vapid, as it has been proven time and time again that Ukraine has been used for decades as a proxy to set up nuclear weapons and conventional weapons closer and closer to Russia.

These fuckers buckle under their own hubris and Americana-ism. Nuland-Blinken-Kagan-Neocons-Neoliberals, they are the worst of the worst, yet these two fools at Tom Dispatch just smear the world with more lies, and their own psychic and intellectual numbness just get played more and more for those Democratic Foolish Fools.

JC: But this is what I call in my piece, the great revelation of the war in Ukraine: that the human future has been put in the hands of an unreliable wielder of power like Vladimir Putin. And Putin, by making this extremity clear and explicit, may be doing us a tremendous favor. And so did Donald Trump, who also made palpable what might happen, should a feckless, irresponsible, deeply immoral person possess this absolute power unchecked. Putin and Trump together reveal how urgent it is that we dismantle this structure of nuclear power that can be so readily abused.

RJL: Absolutely. And one couldn’t think of two more appropriate figures for teaching us that. Putin, motivated by a version of Russian fascism, wanting a great mystical Russian empire. And Trump, with his solipsistic—or self-enclosed—evaluation of everything. There couldn’t be two better examples of the mortal danger here. (source)

Disgust is all I can say abougt this interview above. Now compare this reality below with this armchair rhetorical wizards, Lifton’s.

It is an open secret that Talisman Sabre 2023 is in practice a live action role play (LARP) for war on Australia’s giant Pacific neighbour, the People’s Republic of China (PRC). This is not stated openly, but anyone can reasonably surmise that during the military exercises Norfolk Island will double as Taiwan, as part of the duplicitous attempt by Washington to break Taiwan away from mainland China – even if it means World War III. Talisman Sabre is officially aimed at improving “inter-operability” with the US military, meaning the Pentagon will lead the charge into conflict with the PRC, sooner or later, with other “partner” nations bringing up the rear. Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles baldly states that Talisman Sabre aims at a “stable Indo-Pacific through an upholding of the rules-based order”.[2] Needless to say, the “rules-based order” is a euphemism for US (United States of America) led imperialism, which makes its own rules and expects all other nations to follow them – even if they are not informed what the “rules” are supposed to be.

Washington and its quisling satraps are desperately attempting to resurrect the dominant role it held over the globe during the 20th century. (source)

Psychic numbing includes all of it coming from the mouths of the techno-fascists, the surveillence fucks, the crypto thieves, all thoe Blackrocks and Propaganda Putrids that make a Lifton, et al, so smug, so psychically dead.

Smug, elite, just tools for their own alternative form of existing in the world. First World Hellions.

So these anti-Putin folk, who are actually pro-nuclear weapons folks, just do not get the rest of the world:

NATO and its defenders claim it is strictly an alliance of “collective Western defence” and not a belligerent organization. But a review of its history finds that it has, for its entire existence, plotted and backed military actions against liberation movements in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The press materials for NATO’s most-recent Strategic Concept claim that NATO is neither a “threat” nor a force looking for “confrontations.”

Yet, the document itself notes that NATO has an explicit mandate to enlarge itself—to surround the countries it claims “disrupt” the “rules-based international order” with “integrated” land forces, naval power, and aerial power.

From its earliest days, NATO directly aided its members’ colonial conquests, from Asia, to Africa, to Latin America.

Psychic Blindness to reality, that’s the ticket.

And, dead man and two dead women walking, there, at the end of the Vilnius summit:

When the rest of the world is trying to cool tensions, the NATO alliance continues to follow the script of imperial expansion with victims of the war not high on its list of priorities. Wojcik quoted the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Amy Gutmann:

“We will show beyond a shadow of a doubt the ability and swiftness of our allied force in NATO as a first responder. I would be pretty surprised if any world leader was not taking note of what this shows in terms of the spirit of this alliance, which means the strength of this alliance.”

Gutmann shows more proof that peace is not a priority for the alliance, despite reassurances from U.S. officials that the U.S. supposedly prioritizes an avoidance of nuclear war. It is very odd, and cynical, that further fueling the Russia-Ukraine war is at the same time a way to avoid nuclear war. Quite the contrary.

Another imperial shill from the U.S., Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth, said on TV, and Wojcik quoted, that it is “clear to the world that the U.S. military is the fiercest and most powerful in the world with a capability of dealing lethal blows that is greater than anyone else’s lethality.” Bragging about your military might while ignoring a chance for peace? Wormuth also made no mention of the victims of the war, Ukrainian and Russian.

Fuck these elite, east coast psychic pains in the ass:

Quoting from Solidarity magazine, in a piece written by Adam Adelpour, Mircea Geoana, NATO Deputy Secretary General, said in June 2022 that “NATO is a defensive alliance whose primary responsibility is to protect one billion citizens in Europe and North America. And “NATO exists to deter any aggression, defend our people, our democratic values, prevent conflict, and allow people to have ideas, to prosper and to fulfill their lives and their dreams.” Compared to this rhetoric, Adelpour wrote, “NATO’s history shows this couldn’t be further from the truth.”

NATO’s history shows this couldn’t be further from the truth. The alliance was established in 1949 as a tool for the US to exercise its imperial might. Following the Second World War the US emerged as the world’s biggest military, economic and political power. But it also faced competition from Russia, which had demonstrated its own military power during the world war and emerged with control over Eastern Europe.

NATO established US military bases and political influence permanently in Western Europe. From here it could limit Russian influence and prevent any European countries challenging the US.

NATO’s first secretary-general, the British officer Lord Ismay said the purpose of the alliance was “to keep the Russians out, the Americans in and the Germans down.”

NATO was anything but democratic. It included the Portuguese Salazar dictatorship amongst its first 12 members.

When the Greek military launched a coup and seized power in 1967 the right-wing Greek Colonels had the backing of NATO until they were overthrown in 1974. France waged bloody wars to defend its colonial empire in Algeria and in Indochina while it was a NATO member, with US backing.

NATO also interfered in the domestic politics of its member states. During the Cold War NATO was also used to attack the left.

In the name of preparing for a potential Russian invasion, NATO organised a secret network of armed groups called the “Gladio” network. The network had links to the far-right and fascist groups and attempted to destabilise member countries to prevent the left coming to power. The Gladio network has been accused of carrying out bombings and massacres in Italy, and Gladio forces joined the 1967 coup in Greece. (source)

NaziLandia:

Regardless of assurances from NATO members, the real reasons for NATO’s belligerence are hardly mentioned, but there are exceptions.

For example, Adelpour wrote in Solidarity that former Bill Clinton adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski revealed the goals of U.S. policy in relation to NATO:

This is “to prevent collusion and maintain security dependence amongst the vassals, to keep tributaries pliant and protected and to keep the barbarians from coming together.” Brzezinski was referring to Russia and China as “barbarians.”   (source)

Psychic Stupidity: Lifton. The rest of the world wants nothing of your background: WikiCIApedia:

Robert Jay Lifton (born May 16, 1926) is an American psychiatrist and author, chiefly known for his studies of the psychological causes and effects of wars and political violence, and for his theory of thought reform. He was an early proponent of the techniques of psychohistory.

Lifton was born in 1926, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of businessman Harold A. Lifton, and Ciel Lifton née Roth. In 1942, he enrolled at Cornell University at the age of 16. He was admitted to New York Medical College in 1944, graduating in 1948.[1] He interned at the Jewish Hospital of Brooklyn in 1948–49. He did his psychiatric residence training at the Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York in 1949–51.

From 1951 to 1953, Lifton served as an Air Force psychiatrist in Japan and Korea, to which he later attributed his interest in war and politics. He has since worked as a teacher and researcher at the Washington School of Psychiatry, Harvard University, and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he helped to found the Center for the Study of Human Violence.

He married the children’s writer Betty Jean Kirschner in 1952, and they had two children. She died in Boston on November 19, 2010, from complications of pneumonia. Lifton has said that cartooning is his avocation; he has published two books of humorous cartoons about birds.

Syria military escalation as U.S. increases pressure and the Niger coup

In demonstrations since the early days of the CNSP coup, people have been burning French flags, attacking symbols of colonial and neo-colonial rule while many carried both the Nigerien and Russian flags. Although there is no indication that the Russian Federation or the Wagner Group had a hand in the ascendancy of the CNSP to power, President Vladimir Putin recently announced his opposition to a western-backed military intervention in Niger. Putin urged the resolution of the conflict in Niger through dialogue and negotiations.

Overall, throughout the Sahel and other areas within the West Africa region, the economic situation is worsening. In Nigeria, which is the most populous state in Africa and designated as the continent’s largest economy, a food emergency was declared by President Tinubu.

The specter of sharply rising prices and food shortages prompted the two largest worker organizations, the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), to stage a national day of protest across the oil-rich state on August 2. President Tinubu met with the leadership of the union federations and agreed to grant some of their demands. Reports in the Nigerian press suggest that the mass actions by the unions will not continue as previously threatened by the NLC and TUC.

Therefore, the newly inaugurated administration of President Tinubu in Nigeria could very well be aggravating the social situation inside the country by threatening to deploy troops to Niger. Even the Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, whose country has troops along with Germany, France and the U.S. in Niger, proclaimed that a military intervention by the West to bring down the CNSP would result in charges of re-colonization.

Anti-imperialist and antiwar forces in the western industrialized states must oppose the military interventions by France, the U.S. and other NATO countries in Niger. Another disastrous invasion and occupation by the Pentagon and NATO will only create more displacement, underdevelopment and political divisions. (source)

The Talmud specifically defines all who are not Jews as non-human animals, and specifically dehumanizes gentiles as not being descendants of Adam. We will now list some of the Talmud passages which relate to this topic:

“The Jews are called human beings, but the non-Jews are not humans. They are beasts.” — Talmud: Baba mezia, 114b

“The Akum (non-Jew) is like a dog. Yes, the scripture teaches to honor the the dog more than the non-Jew.” — Ereget Raschi Erod. 22 30

“Even though God created the non-Jew they are still animals in human form. It is not becoming for a Jew to be served by an animal. Therfore he will be served by animals in human form.” — Midrasch Talpioth, p. 255, Warsaw 1855

“If you eat with a Gentile, it is the same as eating with a dog.” — Tosapoth, Jebamoth 94b

“If a Jew has a non-Jewish servant or maid who dies, one should not express sympathy to the Jew. You should tell the Jew: “God will replace ‘your loss’, just as if one of his oxen or asses had died”.” — Jore dea 377, 1

“Sexual intercourse between Gentiles is like intercourse between animals.”
Talmud Sanhedrin 74b

“It is permitted to take the body and the life of a Gentile.” — Sepher ikkarim III c 25

“A heretic Gentile you may kill outright with your own hands.” — Talmud, Abodah Zara, 4b

5 Jewish things to know about Joe Biden | The Times of Israel

I’m probably one of the few Christian members of the Congress who can say the motzi.  (Laughter.)  I’ve attended more Jewish dinners than some of you have.  (Applause.)  I’ve raised more money from AIPAC than some of you have.  (Applause.)  I have spent more money raising money for the Federation than some of you have.  (Laughter.)  You think I’m kidding, don’t you.  I’m not.

I got in trouble some years ago and Carl may remember.  About 18, 20 years ago, I was speaking to the Zionist Organization of Baltimore.  And I said, I am a Zionist, for I learned you do not have to be a Jew to be a Zionist.  The fact of the matter is that the man who raised me was absolutely committed to the notion that it should never happen again, the man who could not understand why there could even be a debate about the establishment of the state of Israel.  That man was my dad.

So it was no surprise to my friends when I was elected to the Senate in a state less than 1 percent of the Jewish — less than 1 percent of the population is Jewish, that I got so deeply involved early on in the Senate with the business of Israel.  I was elected when I was 29 years old.  And I continued my education, because I had the opportunity to get there and be educated by men like Hubert Humphrey, like Abe Ribicoff, like Jack Javits — people who were my mentors as a young kid in the United States Senate. Joe Biden, RIP

Summary:

In Detroit, Vice President Biden speaks at the Yeshiva Beth Yehuda Anniversary Dinner and emphasizes the “unshakeable” bond between the United States and Israel.

On November 13th, 2011, Vice President Biden delivered a speech to over 2,000 rabbis, educators and Jewish community and business leaders in Detroit. The remarks, included below, were made at the anniversary dinner of Yeshiva Beth Yehuda, the oldest and largest Jewish schools system in Michigan.

And, speaking of pride: Joe Biden kvelled about his Jewish son-in-law at a political event in Ohio in 2016, saying:

“I’m the only Irish Catholic you know who had his dream met because his daughter married a Jewish surgeon.”
