Sleep-deprived, I heaved my leaking, swollen breasts into the third non-maternity-but-very-forgiving-baby-doll-waisted dress, hoping it miraculously wouldn’t make me look six months pregnant. A small crowd awaited me downstairs, gathered in the great room of my row house on the eighth day following my son’s birth. Only immediate family, I had demanded. (”Oh but please can we come?” extended relatives and misguided friends had begged. There is something about the snipping of a foreskin that makes the masses come running.)

PERFECTION? Richard’s kicking it hard.

To Bris or Not to Bris? – Lilith Magazine

Yet the story that established Irving’s literary reputation is, at first glance, not a likely one to build a new national literature around. Irving wrote it during a sojourn in Britain. He took its bones from a German folktale. And although set in the Revolutionary era, the story doesn’t dramatize America’s fight for independence. Rather, the protagonist dozes right through it.

“Rip Van Winkle” is one of those stories that is at once familiar and obscure. Its contours remain well known: Man takes long nap, grows very long beard, returns to changed world. Its hero has become shorthand, to the point of cliché, to describe any long slumber. Yet Irving’s short story is not as widely anthologized or read as it once was. Its complexities and peculiarities are only dimly recalled, if at all, by many readers.

The motif of sleep is fitting for Irving – he often felt that he had himself slept through life. Like Rip, he was averse to work, and seemingly allergic to responsibilities of all kinds. Also like Rip, he was quick to help his neighbor (spending years working on his brother, Peter’s, failing business and eventually bankruptcy), but rejected his family’s suggestions for his personal advancement. He denied opportunities to better his circumstances, eschewed marriage with vigor (only getting involved with girls who were far too young, too rich, or too tubercular to be a realistic nuptial threat), and spent over twenty years overseas, hoping to avoid his family’s interference, and delay his looming duty to grow up. By the time “The Sketch Book” made an international splash, he had accidentally employed his love of idleness and people watching to make himself a career. It would take until “The Alhambra” – a popular anthology of fiction and essays – and the “Life of Columbus” – his first serious, scholarly work – before he allowed himself to return to America after having left seventeen years previously on the excuse of helping Peter’s business.

Though not quite twenty years, his return certainly seemed prophetic: like Rip, he returned to a home which had transformed culturally, politically, socially, architecturally, geographically, and personally. His mother and eldest brother – his twin guiding stars – were dead, and all of his bachelor friends were settled down or else mired in their careers. Beard aside, it was an experience which he had foreseen in 1819 when he penned “Rip Van Winkle.” Irving always admired and pitied drifting mavericks, cut off from convention and alienated by their genius, stubbornness, or both, and formed just such a Prometheus in Rip Van Winkle. Spirited but lazy, independent but chummy, stubborn but flexible, aloof but social, irresponsible but kind – Irving seemed to suggest in Rip an amalgamation of the American character that so puzzled class-conscious, social climber Europeans. Who were these rebels who ignored social rank, demanded liberty, and yet seemed so strangely indifferent the winds of history and their own position in a world overrun by ambitious empires? In Rip Van Winkle Irving found a suitable metaphor for his own carefree lack of ambition, and for his whole country’s contradictory personality. — Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle: A Detailed Summary and a Literary Analysis

My hike along the Amanda Trail. My scarf.

Not Just One of those Tales of Another Dead Indian

By Paul Haeder

bloody feet dampen soil
her DNA cleaved to earth, forced blind trek
called “a march” yet she sees through
darkness, earth torn for steel
guns, rusty crosses, parchment
proof of broken treaties
tears bleeding into wind
signatures of unholy
men worth the indigo
nothing more, promises, lies

before US Military kidnapping, white mountain
man grabbed her
fornicated, child from uncommon
law, but mother thrives
until march of tears
from beachhead south
into basalt canyons
toes bound by scars
stumbling, old blind woman
disappeared, or bones to dust

reality: Amanda De-Cuys was a blind Native American woman of the Coos tribe
who traversed coastal trail 158 years ago, but not by choice.
she fled to Coos Bay, but designated runaway
she was tagged like elk, as US army men
carried-out forced march
seventy-five miles north
daughter left behind with common
law gringo, 12 of them
prodded by uniformed glory
now a land of colonization
a continent crying slow death

in 2022 mostly gray heads
gather at the grotto
rededication of new
bridge, Amanda’s Trail
statue of blind Indian
these people hold court
listen to speakers
the mulch of Oregon
forest like fungi on tongues

Yachats, hippie town
tears of Umpqua, Coos, Siletz, Alsi
forever there, a mist
a new rainbow each time
a new visitor hikes hoping
Amanda’s song is caught
in kingfisher or murre or guillemot
transmigration of natives’
souls

What? “Spirited but lazy, independent but chummy, stubborn but flexible, aloof but social, irresponsible but kind – Irving seemed to suggest in Rip an amalgamation of the American character that so puzzled class-conscious, social climber Europeans. Who were these rebels who ignored social rank, demanded liberty, and yet seemed so strangely indifferent the winds of history and their own position in a world overrun by ambitious empires?”

Sure, a kickback cunt of a country:

The loss of land by Native American tribes occurred over centuries, with the speed increasing dramatically after the early 19th century through forced removal and the seizure of vast territories. For example, between 1721 and 1819, the Cherokees lost over 90 percent of their ancestral lands. By 1837, under the pressure of the Indian Removal Act of 1830, the government had forcibly removed about 46,000 Native Americans, opening 25 million acres of land for white settlement. Later, the General Allotment Act of 1887 resulted in the loss of an additional 90 million acres by breaking up reservation lands.

Oh, if only, more Rip’s by the millions around the world, now that would have put us RIGHT.

Arab states expanded cooperation with Israeli military during Gaza war, files show

Israeli and Arab military officials have come together for meetings and trainings, facilitated by U.S. Central Command, on regional threats, Iran and underground tunnels.

The Senate approved its massive annual defense policy bill late Thursday as the U.S. government remains shut down.

The GOP-led chamber approved the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 70-20, aiming to fund the U.S. military at $924.7 billion in fiscal 2026. The vote came after lawmakers reached a deal earlier in the day to unlock the stalled legislation.

These cunts, these fucking genocide cunts, will fight for the AmeriKKKan fascists against US.

In fact, on-site training agreements with allies are common in the U.S. The Republic of Singapore 428th Fighter Squadron Buccaneers have been hosted at the base since 2008. German forces trained at the Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico for decades. New facilities to train international F-35 fighter pilots were completed at Ebbing Air Force Base in Arkansas last year.

Here are some things to know about international training agreements and the Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Where is the Mountain Home Air Force Base?

The base is roughly 50 miles (80.47 kilometers) southeast of Boise, which is the state’s capital and primary population hub. It sits on a high desert tundra plateau tucked between two mountain ranges. The spot is ideal for fighter pilot training because there is a lot of space around the base to practice maneuvers.

The base is just outside of the town of Mountain Home, which is home to about 17,000 people. The new facilities will be built by local construction crews, and local workers will likely be employed at the base to support the training operations, Stefanek said. The construction and other associated expenses will be funded by Qatar.

Security at the base will continue to be handled by U.S. Air Force personnel, she said, and anyone going to the base will still have to show the proper credentials in order to enter.

What is the mission of the base?

The base — nicknamed the “gunfighter” base — houses the 366th Fighter Wing and more than 50 F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft. It aims to “provide mission-ready Gunfighters to conduct military operations anytime, anywhere,” according to its website.

Three fighter squadrons are located there: The 389th Fighter Squadron Thunderbolts, the 391st Fighter Squadron Tigers, and the Singaporean 428th Fighter Squadron Buccaneers. An Air Control squadron and Air National Guard squadron are also housed at the base.

All told, the fighter wing includes about 5,100 military and civilian members, as well as 3,500 family members, according to the website.

“In school, they learn what they can learn. But real life is outside the school. They meet regular soldiers. They meet their commanders, and they are doing things that make them feel like everybody else. The magic is when they get their uniforms like everybody else. You see them grow up immediately,” said Malcha.

Israeli special-needs schooling continues to the age of 21, so between the ages of 17-21, they are taken by bus from their school to the army base once or twice a week. “They salute the flag, eat breakfast and begin work,” said Malcha.

Tasks might include helping in military logistics, gathering and entering data on computers, or other office work. “They do what they can,” said Malcha. In the process, they learn the value of teamwork, as well as how to solve problems and other skills.

“By the end of the day Tuesday, I’d like a memo from each person across our news organization,” Weiss declared. “I’m not looking for a JD or words like synergy. I want to understand how you spend your working hours and, ideally, what you’ve made (or are making) that you’re most proud of.”

Fucking Jewahdist: Bari Weiss goes full Elon Musk, demands CBS News staffers tell her ‘how you spend your working hours’

‘We’re all being DOGE’d,’ a CBS News journalist told The Independent. ‘And she’s also looking out to see who will kiss up to her.’

The Klamath Tribes and Oregon’s eight other federally recognized tribes gathered in North Bend this week for an annual summit with state leaders. But the Klamath Tribes’ leadership walked out after delivering a statement to state officials and the governor.

Klamath Tribes Chair William Ray Jr. said the state has not responded to concerns the Tribes have raised, such as outfitters and guides infringing on tribal members’ fishing.

“I don’t have any ill will to the state,” he said. “It’s just that I want them to live up to their end of the bargain for us — to honor our treaty and our treaty rights.”

Fucking Jew Stephen Miller is feeding Semen Drip’s uber racism: As part of this rollback, the Justice Department announced in July 2025 that it would no longer “defend” the federal definition of Hispanic-Serving Institutions, or HSIs. These are colleges where at least 25% of undergraduates identify as Hispanic or Latino.

This is more than a legal technicality. It reflects the Justice Department’s position that HSI grants violate constitutional protections, putting millions of federal dollars for these schools at risk.

The cunt in chief, as dumb as a bag o rocks: The Trump administration’s cancellation of what would have been one of the world’s largest solar power projects has some industry observers fretting over the future of renewable energy on public lands.

They predicted the Esmeralda 7 project — by far the largest solar project that had moved through the permitting process under former President Joe Biden’s Interior Department — won’t be the last major project in the pipeline to be pulled. It was one of a number of Nevada desert solar projects that had been steadily advancing through regulatory review by the Biden administration.

ACAB on steroids: On Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Portland Police Bureau monitored activity around the ICE facility in the South Waterfront.

The Portland Police Bureau activated an Incident Command Team, which is overseen by a Crowd Management Incident Commander (CMIC). The CMIC managed numerous resources that included Dialogue Liaison Officers (DLOs), Rapid Response Team (RRT), Air Support Unit, and PPB Sound Truck (a loudspeaker-equipped police vehicle). Dialogue Liaison Officers, wearing white uniform shirts, act as liaisons to demonstrators, and their role is not enforcement.

The Portland Police Bureau is also grateful for the assistance of Portland Fire & Rescue and the Oregon State Police.

Devils in lab coats: Since the closing decades of the past century, researchers around the world have sought to precisely isolate, control and measure individual physical objects, such as single photons and atomic ions, that display quantum behaviors under very specific experimental conditions. These endeavors have given rise to the emerging field of quantum engineering, which aims to utilize the peculiarities of quantum physics for groundbreaking technological innovations.

Never feeding the world and just taking care of business: Oppen-Monster-Heimers.

One of the most promising directions is quantum information processing, whose goal is to design and implement machines that can encode, process, transmit and detect information in “strange” quantum manners: For instance, an object can be in a superposition of different states at the same time. Distant objects can manifest quantum entanglement – remote correlations that escape all possible classical interpretation. Compared with their conventional electronics predecessors, quantum information machines could have advantages in specific tasks of computation, simulation, cryptography and sensing.

The West is superior and must always win. This is how Palantir views the world

Military AI software Data company Palantir is one of the most influential, secretive, and controversial companies in the world. NRC visited the office in London. What is the worldview of the Palantirians?

The burnt-out wrecks of Russian tanks still line the road as Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir, drives through Kyiv with four colleagues and armed guards in Toyota Land Cruisers. It is June 1, 2022, more than three months after the war in Ukraine began. The Americans are on their way to the palace of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a secret meeting.

When the group arrives, they are taken to the bunker under the palace where Zelensky has been trying to repel the Russian invasion. Karp is the first CEO to visit the Ukrainian president since the outbreak of the war.

The Americans have brought a gift: a framed photo of stamps commemorating the thirteen soldiers who defended Snake Island against the Russians. After a Russian warship ordered them to surrender, the Ukrainians replied with: „Go fuck yourself.”

Zelensky accepts the photo with a laugh. And he delivers a „compelling speech”, remembers Louis Mosley, who was there. Mosley leads the European division of Palantir and recounted the meeting last month at a conference table in Palantir’s London office.

We are at risk of being wiped off the map”, Zelensky told them. We need your software to prevent that. And Alex said: you can have it.”

Ukraine gained access to Palantir’s MetaConstellation program, which enables the country to live-stream battlefield scenarios using satellite imagery. This information is merged with commercial and secret military data from the United States and its allies, helping the Ukrainian military better identify targets and enemies.

Here, JEWS, dude.Listen up how perverted they are wanting to see a naked old British fucking citizen.

Palantir’s technology is often used in crisis situations, such as flooding.

In Karp’s home, he keeps several Rubik’s cubes, books, and a wooden sword, which are among his favorite things”. Fucking Jew Dirt!!!!

The Implacable Urge to Defame: Cartoon Jews in the American Press, 1877-1935

The Samaria Settler Council — an organization representing Israeli settlements in northern West Bank — has just uploaded a pretty jaw-dropping piece of propaganda. It’s subtitled in English and really needs to be seen to be believed. But in case you don’t want to do it to yourselves, it shows a wealthy European named Herr Stürmer (get it?) tossing shiny Euro coins to a hook-nosed, vicious character referred to only as “ze Jew.

Shit! 1896. Who woulda thunk?
