Claudia De la Cruz, presidential candidate of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, blasted Biden’s oval office address last night as a “pathetic attempt to rally people behind endless war for empire.” She said that, “It is sickening that Biden wants to pour $100 billion of additional money into the war machine when people are going hungry, can’t afford rent, can’t afford childcare, and are living on the brink of environmental catastrophe. Working people have no interest in a war with Russia over Ukraine or China over Taiwan – only the military contractors and the Wall Street banks would benefit. The genocidal attack on Gaza should not be funded by our tax dollars – all aid to Israel must stop immediately.”

“He felt that he shouldn’t be arguing about it unless he was willing to have skin in the game and take his own risk,” Kennedy said on “The Megyn Kelly Show” of his son’s decision to go to the war-torn country.
Kennedy said his son signed up for the Foreign Legion at the Ukrainian Embassy and was a drone pilot before he was promoted to a “machine gunner.”
“He didn’t have any military experience and kind of talked his way into the unit,” he added. “He’s been in firefights, mainly nighttime, and a lot of artillery fights with the Russians.”
“He had a job for a law firm, a really good law firm in Los Angeles, and I was looking forward to him living with me for the summer,” he said of his son’s initial plans.
When probing him further about Conor Kennedy’s plans, his son said, “I’m not going. I want to talk to you. I don’t want you to ask me what I’m doing.”
“I was like, ‘Um…,’” he explained. “And he said, ‘I will explain it to you at some point, but I do not want you to ask me now, and if you could just respect that it would mean a lot to me.’ So I did.”

Stress Tests on the American!
Fucking stress test goes WAY beyond the shitty fiscal and monetary mafia polisies. In this paper, Donald Kohn and Nellie Liang of the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy at Brookings focused on assessing some of the effects of this new prudential tool as implemented in the United States, and contributing to the Federal Reserve Board’s review of its supervisory stress tests. They analyzed the data that are publicly disclosed about the stress tests for their implications for bank capital requirements and risk management, and marshaled the evidence from existing studies on the effects of stress tests on credit rather than undertaking new efforts. In addition, they interviewed a number of people knowledgeable about the stress tests to get their views on their effects. These included current and former supervisors and Federal Reserve economists (some of whom are now at consultancies advising banks on stress tests or at interest groups), current and former bankers involved in the stress tests at the banks, and other interested observers.
We are in a giant propaganda and psychological trick experiment. A giant stress test. How many homeless, how many stories about Social Security being gutted, how much crime and how many fines-tickets-fees-taxes-tolls-incarcerations-lawsuits CAN we take.
